I have had a few ultrasounds. None of which were painful except for the last one. The pressure on my abdomen hurt so bad I wanted to cry. After I left the pain didn't stop for hours. I still don't know what's wrong and have yet to get the results of the ultrasound.
I had an ultrasound done today on my legs from my grown which is at the top of my thighs all the way down to my calves and it was very painful I wish I was going to be warned about this ahead of time but I was holding my breath and trying to take deep breaths because the pain was horrible my doctor told me it's not painful but when I had it done I could hardly bear it
Yes...I did a full abdominal ultrasound yesterday. It was my first time... and it was brutal. I never though it could be so painful. The nurse was stabbing be with that thing, to the point where I asked her why she had to be so rough!! she smiled at me and asked me if it was my first ultrasound. I am extremely sensitive around the belly button area and the pressure there made me scream. I think I will feel the pain for days to come.
I HAD ONE YESTERDAY AND WISH THAT I DIDN'T - I HAVE PAIN THROUGHOUT MY STOMACH - WHEN DOES IT SUBSIDE!? - CRABBIER THAN USUAL...
I HAD STOMACH PAINS - BUT FELT WORSE AFTER THE ULTRASOUND - WISH I NEVER HAD IT DONE - HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE PAIN TO GO AWAY
what was wrong?
Help I had a liver ultrasound today and I thought my ribs were going to break under the pressure. The pain is awful it's only been 6 hours. Anyone who has had this happen, can you tell me how long until the pain subsides?
I had one on my liver, spleen, and kidneys 3 days ago. I am so sore still to this day. It's almost like a bruise feeling, very sore to the touch in those areas. I have had ultrasounds before but don't remember this much pain afterwards. Kinda freaks me out that I was already hurting there and then the did that and now I hurt more. I see your post was three days ago, how are you feeling now?
I have had several ultrasounds and I absolutely can not tolerate another one.....yes the pain was a 9/10 during and about an 8/10 afterwards for a couple of hours. Everyone is different, everyone may have issues going on that the ultrasound has not picked up!! I honestly believe that if an ultrasound hurts any of us and it shows nothing then another screening test should be done as a back up (if not pregnant) I would also like to point out that personally I have a high pain tollerence, so if it hurts us it might very well be well worth asking for another form of screening! I won't ever have another one done on my total abdomen EVER again unless I am knocked out!! So sorry many others have gone through this discomfort because, it's awful the way we are generally treated like "THIS SHOULD NOT BE HURTING YOU!!!" Hence feeling a tad belittled..... I came here because sadly I hoped I was not the only person who experienced such pain however was saddened by how many have!! Thank you for starting this discussion. Health, love and light to all Fee.
YES.....I am in the same boat.. I had a liver and totally abdominal sonogram 5 days ago and I am still very sore and eating Advil like mm's .... Prayers for all in pain.
Yes this is the same scan, I came here to check after my scan yesterday almost brought me to tears but this is my second child and the 5th ab scan I've had, 2 whilst pregnant the first time and 2 to find medical issues whilst I wasn't pregnant, this is the first scan I've had that hurt like this but I have also been experiencing extreme abdominal pain for nearly 2 years anyway
I have also pain in abdominal area inside appendix gall bladder plz give me some suggestions for relief pain
had one of my gall bladder, and it felt like they were going to stick the thing right through me or break my rib cage. Never had pain in that side, they did find sludge, but I felt like saying...now lay down and let me do it to you. Do they have to press so hard? Extremely painful, I'm still sore, wouldn't be surprised if I'm bruised tomorrow.
I just had this test today. I could not believe how painful it was. I did not expect that. I thought for sure there must be something extremely wrong.
The technician was very blasé about it and I came home and took some pain pills.
This test was ordered by a gastroenterologist to check for gallstones. I thought I would keel over afterwards. I will call my GP tomorrow and have home discuss the protocol with the gastroenterologist. I can't believe it hurt so much and they just sent me home without even revealing the findings.
