BTW
two things that help me get rid of the erection quickly is: 1st standing up leaning at a wall with hand stretched up. but then it takes me longer to fall asleep. 2nd - while in lying bed - Contraction of my anus as strong as possible for about 30 seconds+

Anyone else have a numb penis? Mine has probably lost like 70% of its sensation. Difficult getting an erection and I've only had it for a year and some months, totally worried about this! And mad because doctors aren't doing anything about it.

John here. I lost sensation in the head of the penis by about 30% or so. In the first year or two I had worse issues with sensation. It has improved dramatically for me as this is year 4. Even the head is back to normal sensitivity. It sounds like there are some nerve issues involved here which would affect sensitivity.

John,
So does that mean there is hope for me in regaining sensation? I mean I do masturbate a lot as well..

I don't yet know whether sexual activity is strongly correlated with this condition or not but in the end this is a scientific question which can be either true or false.

Yet I would much prefer if all matters concerning gods, devils, ghosts and demons could be left out of this thread because if this is the best way HE can come up with to tell us that he doesn't like us masturbating HE is not an all-loving FATHER but - if anything - a sick and pathetic FREAK. So please stop telling us what GOD (or other supernatural agents) want us to do. We are not in the Dark Ages any more. Thank you.

Just for your information: I have never been masturbating that often and I stopped doing it completely several weeks ago and I still have the condition. But this is only anecdotal evidence and not scientific proof.

Hi,

my name is Bill and I've had this condition for almost 3 years now. In my case, it's not masturbation that seems to make things worse but more generally ejaculation(whether it's masturbation or sex). The next few days after an ejaculation the erections are more intense and harder to get down. The number of events is the same (in my case 3 to 5 per night). Good luck to everyone.

Bill again here,

one thing that I seldom see mentioned here to deal with this problem are sleeping pills. I have been prescribed different sorts of sleeping pills but none of them good enough to keep me asleep. The erections are so uncomfortable that no matter what I take I wake up anyway. The only sleeping pill that works for me is Triazolam. Its effects are short-term(2 hours) so it doesn't make me groggy in the morning. I usually take it after an erection "event" when I am unable to get back to sleep.

Have any of you experienced shaking (tremors) while trying to fall asleep? I have, and it is the only time i feel my body shake. Could it be related?

Anyone with Parkinson's disease?? Scared that this condition might be related to it.....

Haven't had any symptoms of Parkinson's and have had this issue for 4-5 years. I'm a believer in the possibility of an injury or dabbling in enhancement drugs leading to this issue. I used to take several products with turned on goat weed. Then one day my penis swelled like a coke bottle for three days then seemingly went back to normal. Normal became getting up once then twice and now pretty much 3-5 times a night with an erection that is uncomfortable but not painful.

If anything my virility has gotten stronger as opposed to less. I can go anytime and even after an orgasm like in my 20s.

Some other things that may be related seem to be anxiety which I know I have but refuse to take drugs for. I manage. My bowel habits got worse around time of erections as well. I sh*t 6-8 times a day so ibs is there for me and has been there since this started. I had a colonoscopy and they also found diverticulosis. My job is super stressful so I anticipate stress makes this issue potentially show up and in my pelvic region I know I typically clench at orgasm which may be what relates to masturbation potentially as a contributor.

Sorry for just dumpling lots of symptoms out there. Trying to find a common thread is difficult. I'm 41 btw.

Tried writing "turned on" above next to goat weed and autocorrect made it "turned on".

Thanks for clarifying, lol.

Autospell sucks.

Were anybody of you guys tested for herpes? Not on the skin but by blood test? The reason I ask is that my urologist said that this could perhaps be at least a contributing factor.

Thank you

I've had this condition almost 2 years. I'm not sure why so many people seem afraid of baclofen. It's been working great since I started it about a year and a half ago. dose started at 10mg, didn't work, 20 worked for several months, then it needed 30 for 4 or 5 months. And now it's back down to 20. So it's not necessarily a given that your dose will just go up and up and up. It's also a pretty benign medicine at the dose and frequency needed for this. Most of the bad side effects you read about are from people taking 40mg 3 or 4 times per day, or people taking nutball doses in an attempt to cure alcoholism (although an anecdote for me, is at 30mg, I can't take more than a sip of beer without feeling disgusted! so there could be some truth to that treatment). Just take before bed, and by the time you wake up, most of it has been processed by your body. After about a week, you can't even feel the acute effects of muscle relaxation if you happen to stay up for a bit. At least, that has been my experience.
With how rare and non-lifethreatening this condition is, I think some kind of cure is not likely to come around any time soon, so embrace the options that are available.
