I had my gall bladder removed on the 10/21/14, I immediately started feeling better stomach wise. Yes I was in pain, but remember they just removed an organ from me! I made sure that right away when I would get up I made sure to stand as straight as I could. I carried my little pillow with me but I made sure to stand straight.

I returned to work after a week. However I do have a desk job. I have made sure to not lift more than the 15lbs my doc limited me to. I still can't fit into my normal pants, but i'm sure that will come.

My only problem is I have a lump just about my belly button to the right, which is painful. I had a cat scan that shows no sign of a hernia. But this does cause me pain when I get up. This lump came after my moms 20lb dog jumped on my stomach the day after my surgery.

I would go through the gall bladder removal 1000 times over again to feel this good. I've been having stomach issues for over a year and they finally found my gall stones. 6 large stones that previously didnt' show in tests. I can finally eat without getting sick!

Hi guys, I am 7 days post op from having my gallbladder removed and feel an overwhelming need to comfort those in fear of the pain and bloating in your abdomen. On the day of my surgery, after waking up, I felt fantastic. Mainly due to all the pain medication I was on. That night in hospital I had very little sleep due to mild discomfort. The next morning, wow what a different story. I was exhausted and in so much pain. I couldn't control my emotions and felt so incredibly sad. My stomach was a little bloated but nothing I hadn't expected. I went home that afternoon back to my husband, 5 yr old and 7 yr old. Trying to sleep was hell so I relied on a mild sleeping tablet and panadeine forte. Next morning again I was overwhelmed with emotion and would cry at the drop of a hat. I picked myself up and we took the kids out for the day. Relying only on nurofen for the pain. I had very little appetite and was extremley constipated. By that afternoon my stomach looked as though I was 6 mnths pregnant and was so sore. I had so much cramping from desperatley needing to go to the bathroom I used a suppository from the chemist. 20 mins later I felt an enormous amount of relief. From the next morning (day 4) I made myself eat the cereal All Bran each morning. The moral of my story is that after surgery I too was so incredibly concerned about my stomach being permanatly bloated. I was 49kgs on the day of surgery and have struggled with stomach issues after having my two kids. From day 2 till day 6 I would google as much as I could about why I couldnt fit my normal clothes and if it would change. All I could find were horrifying answers where patients had stayed that way for months after surgery with no idea why. Day 7 I can happily say my bloating has subsided my pain is next to nothing and im feeling so much better. Please try to stay positive. Try to keep as active as you can within your limits and fingers crossed you can be as fortunate as I have been to be well and truly back on track to 100%. Sending positive wishes to you all xxx

I am also having the fluttering sensation. Even though I have been eating fats to test things out, I am constipated. Did you ever get an answer re: the fluttering?

TO OP and others considering laparoscopic GB removal. I had the bloating, breathing and then heart irregularities. I developed gastro paresis, dysphagia, reflux into bile ducts and esophagus, bile yellow water diarrhea, and fecal vomit. I cannot poop today without a neuro-stimulant. In fact most nothing in my autonomic nervous system works since this surgery. I am considered an idiopathic sufferer of dysautonomia. Well let's see. I was fine had pain went to ER they saw my pancreas was inflamed (chronic Pancreatitis) they suggest admittance and prompt removal of GB. Man that helped and I felt great for a week then all of your symptoms started and more. Your vegus nerve has a direct connection from you GB to you stomach. Gas is likely bile flow when not needed. I eat more fat and the gas is less now. I also eat lots of veggies all day long then the fat meals. I cannot do veg only diet. No Way. I do benefit from pancreatic enzymes by prescription now raw food. Sometimes I go to places I think I can do like the BBQ chains and all is bad fast. Don't know why going out is different than eating the same things in other than additives like MSG. I now also need lots of sea salt. Can't seem to get enough of it at times and I am in pain without it. I also have issues with potassium, calcium, and Vitamin D. Most fat soluble vitamins and minerals dependent of lipid metabolism on cellular level. In short I have a major issues with lipid metabolism and have metabolic syndrome too since the surgery. Before I worked 16 hours a day. Today I cannot work more than 16 a week.

This did help me a lot thank you.
I just had my surgery a week ago and my children feel like I ought to be back up and around as usual.
I feel sick and weak. I can only eat a few bites at most. My skin itches intently. I feel like I have a uti coming on.
Thank you for your post. I don't feel abnormal. Now.
My daughter even suggested I was depressed.

Thank you!!! You're response has helped me tremendously and given me hope! I am fairly healthy (although overweight) but I think I, too, expected to bounce back quickly. I am 1 week post op tomorrow and my legs have finally quit aching, but my gallbladder area and back are still killing me! I still have nausea and dizziness and my head hurts - like a lingering pain. Praying this passes quickly!

Hi there,
Firstly I realise this post was over 12 months ago however I am posting in the hope that that either the OP or another person can enlighten me with any information regarding sore wrists after having their Gallbladder removed.

Background: had Gallbladder removed ten days ago, was just sore/tender from the surgery but was very happy - complete improvement and feeling great.

Over the past 24 hours my wrists are progressively becoming very painful, right now I can not bend my wrists at all, the pain is excruciating and actually brings tears to my eyes.

Can anyone shed any light, ie: common and passes, uncommon and here to stay etc.... anything that helps ease this sympton?

I have never had any pain in my wrists before....

Thanks in advance

I had surgery on mine too, Oct 8, 2015, I have lots of pains still, my regular dr. Is great he worried and sent me for a CT. I've told him what I've been told, after a week you shouldn't have any fever, well I still battle that. Thank god for my regular dr. He did a CT and said he found fluid or blood pocket. They had told me that were they took mine out they had hard time getting the blood to stop. So now I have to call surgeon again. Every since I been out I've been dealing with pain, sick to my stomach and I don't eat much at all 1 meal a day that's all I can stand but it's not muh food. I've told my surgeon office for dr on call and I get the answer of its normal. I'm not happy with that.
