So I had my gallbladder out by lap yesterday morning. Holy (insert four letter word here)! I have a high pain tolerance and I was damn near in tears when I woke up. The nurse gave me pain meds (2 mg morphine) which did nothing. I was sent home with 5 mg hydrocodone which I had to double up on to put a dent in the pain. I felt like the nurse didn't want to give more pain meds because they wanted me out of their recovery room. I could barely move when I got home from the pain. I had the excruciating neck/right shoulder pain that was made worse when I got out of bed and went to lay down again. Now the good news. I am doing much better today and have only had to take ibuprofen. Pain from the carbon dioxide gas is markedly decreased. I wish I had been told in advance about that. Be sure to stress pain management with the staff. Mine was insufficient.

It seems like everyone gallbladder story is different. Mine has been 3.5 days since my gallbladder removal. My cuts are healing up fast, I am mobile and can move more fluently.
But my eyes are slightly yellow and so is my skin. I still have a pain in the far right side of my liver. I occasionally have itchy skin. And my pee has been a steady strong yellow and I feel nauseaus about 50% of the day. I researched online and found that this means I could be in the 5-10% that had a stone left in the duct. I welcome recommendations, should I wait this out or get back to the Dr. immediately?

I had my gallbladder removed by laparoscopy last Tuesday. My wounds are itchy, and it looks like they sealed my belly button. Tomorrow I'm picking up stronger pain meds, and I look like I'm carrying 5 babies. It's still very painful to move, and sometimes the nausea makes me put a trash can by my bed. My appetite is good, but I'm terrified of just about everything. How long am I supposed to look like this? I was in the process of losing weight, but now I look like I gained it all plus more. And my thighs are swollen. When does this nightmare end?

I just had my gallbladder surgery on 10-18-16. I am having the same problems that you were experiencing. Is there anything I can do that can help make it a little more comfortable? I can't sleep or anything. If there is anything please let me know. Thanks

I had my gall bladder out just over a year ago. I have two problems. I have stacked on 10 KGS in the last 12 months. If I have a fatty meal, like pork belly or similar, the next day or so I am running to the toilet and I get a very sore back passage. Very painful.

I had laprowcopic gallbladder surgery and was walking around same night. Hardly had any pain at all. Just felt like after a really hard workout. Nothing an xtra strength Tylenol couldn't handle. I was lucky I guess.

I had my GB out June 2015. My stomach still feels bloated and sensitive. I have to wear just the right pants or it bothers me. The other thing is I can't wear a normal bra because the wide band hurts me . Like my ribs hurt. I had SOD surgery in March of 2016. I don't know if that really did anything. I've been to mayo and they seem to think it was a spine issue. I've been through so much since the GB surgery. I never really feel very good. I'm only 56 and didn't have any issues before. I'm so worn out from struggling. I'm lucky I don't have food restrictions or bathroom issues. Hope you feel better soon. Go right back to that surgeon and see if that's normal.

I am feeling the exact same way. Have a protruding lump above the incision where my gallbladder was. Its been 6 days and all my pain is coming from that area. My pain is at a 8. I cant stand straight or bend. At a loss. My dr is out of town.

Just had my gall bladder removed I week ago. Had a follow up with my surgeon last night and apparently they pump you up with co2 to get access to it, This co2 takes some time to disperse in to your system and causes pain and bloating, which I have had, Best advice I have had is to drink water, lots of water to flush all the chemicals & bile salts out of your system.

I had my lap surgery at 8:00 am this morning, I am walking eating, went grocery shopping after. My situation was the pain I had from disease and stones, were far worse than what I have now. I hate to hear people hurting so badly, and being this is day 1, I may have more to tell later. As for now I am grateful. I pray things get better for you all real soon
