Hi,
I am post op 8weeks hammer toe correction surgery. You noted exercises to improve mobility of the toes. How is that done when the joint has been fused? I am regretting having this done due to the immobility. What kind of surgery did you have done? Also, I was told I could go back to work in 8 weeks. No way. I am on my feet for 12 hours a day and cannot work shorter shifts. I thought I had a good understanding the surgery and I am a medical professional. i can't drive yet. Will i ever feel right with this revision? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I’ve suffered from planter fasciitis and a broken foot. My feet were in constant pain until I bought this shoes. When I get home from work I don’t want to put on my slippers I just want to keep on my kudus. I’ve been recommending them to all my friends. I'm so thankful for the relief from plantar fasciitis when I'm wearing them. I’ve owned my orthofeet for over two months now.

I had surgery on one toe when I was 18. Instead of having my toe shortened or pins in them I had a procedure where they cut a tendon on the bottom of my toe to help straighten the toe since it was pulling too much and causing the toe to bend. Surgery was about 30 minutes and the numbing agent took the longest since it had to kick in. My recovery had me in a post surgery shoe for about a week with my whole foot wrapped in gauze and then an Ace ankle wrap. The first 2 days were the worst for pain and I only had one stitch. I got the stitch out a week later and was back to normal shoes. It didn't fully correct the bend in the toe but my toe is no longer causing me pain.

Had hammertoe surgery (second toe/mallet toe) Oct 2018. My corn was removed and the toe was shortened. My doctor was truly amazing. Procedure took less than 30 minutes, no pins, no screws, just a few stitches and a bandage. I was on my feet 5 minutes after surgery in some large crocs. I was able to fly back home and get back to work the next day. Pain level was about a 4 out of 10 a couple days after surgery but have not had pain since. my toes are still mobile and now beautiful and symmetrical. Please visit Dr. Larry Keyes at Keyes for toes in Oak Park, Illinois. You will not regret it!

Hi Radear, I can't tell you how comforting your statement above is. I had hammertoe surgery and I am in huge discomfort when I walk. I am thinking or rather hoping when I get the pins removed I will feel better (16 more days). Your post gives me hope. T hff bank you!

Hi Erin - I had bunion and hammertoe correction surgery 6.5 weeks ago and still have numbness in all the toes. When did you finally get feeling back? My doc say it will definitely come back, but to give it another 6-8 weeks. Hope you're all back up and running now!

I had bunion surgery, three hammer toes, pinky toe laying under fourth toe fixed and a lot of gout removed. With this I had pins in hammertoes, metal plate on top of big toe and first toe slots of stitches, and bunion fixed. All done with ankle block.
Now I was also bandage with gauze and ace with a boot. When I got home and next day feeling begin to come back and I felted like something was pulling and too tight. Office said loose ace not to mess with any gauze that probably swollen and too tight for all the surgery he did. Seem better. Got a cane to help with limited walking. I would exercise and prop foot up except when necessary to walk. Was told not to wear boot at night it was only a walking boot. About four days later I woke my self up from pushing myself up in bed with bad foot. Bad mistake. Painful to walk next few days. Started back on pain meds. A week later I’m in extreme pain and crying. Not like me. Two days later I called dr b/c unable to walk w/0 extreme pain. Long story short I had bent my pins stove my foot up and one pin is trying to come out side of toe and laying on a nerve. He remove pins w/o medication I screamed it hurt so bad. the pin was wrapped around gauze rubbing up and down in between toes b/c gauge was too tight from bending pins in. Also several stitches had inbedded in gauze. Yes it was my fought from that night. However Dr did say he was sorry but the pins were bent pretty good and pins doesn’t generally bend that easy. I must had dug deep. I did and sat up immediately when I woke up. So yes I definitely was in a lot of pain from the surgery. Now two days later I’m still in pain but a different kind. My foot is swelled and warm to touch but praise God it’s behind me So let the healing begin. I’m suppose to have the other foot done with all the above not sure if I will. I got to see how this foot feels once it heals. Sorry to be the barer of bad news but strange things do happen.

I hope your surgery went well and you had a simple uneventful recovery.
As for me? I wish I had never had kit don
1- first of I bled profusely for several days soaking through 2 surgical boots and tons of gauze.
I ended up being seen in a local ER and they put the wrong type of dressing in my foot causing me to get an infection.
It was so terribly painful and the pain pills did not even touch the pain. I developed sausage toe and because I did not get aggressive care but was told it will go away in 6 months maybe

I had it done because I could not wear many shoes and it hurt but now I can wear less shoes and my foot is permanently deformed. I hate myself for having done this I want it ampotsted and they are refusing.
