I feel as right as rain now just abit sensitive on bear feet.Good luck with yours

I had my surgery 3 months ago as well.. I am in so much pain its not funny!!! I was wondering if anyone else is feeling this bad. There is so much sensitivity on the top where he cut me - he broke my three last toes as a pre emptive strike before they become hammer toed!! but they didn't hurt then - they hurt like hell now.. the one (2nd next to big toe) was hammertoed - he put a pin that stuck out of my toe and kept it there for 6 weeks.. finally out and its straight as an arrow - he fused it. the problem is two spots that are sooo sensitive one at the base of that 2nd toe -(on the buttom) - and the other at the buttom of the 4th toe.. feels like a neuroma but its not - a deep nasty pain.. these 3 toes are killing me.. i'm seeing a pain therapist - and hoping for the best. The surgeon - said if all fails we'll have to kill the nerve (9 shots)... why didn't he just kill it the first time I asked him to,!!!

Hey! I had my surgery on the 11th of October 2012. It was a large neuroma and had been causing pain for years also I had developed hammer toe on number 3. I had jabs but they only lasted a week at a time. My doc suggested surgery. The surgery didn't take long and when I woke spent 30 minutes in recovery and walked out of the hospital without crutches etc (I did however puke in the car hehe). I wore my boot pretty much for the first week however after the first day I was bored of lying down so I went visiting friends, shopping, gardening etc. This angered my doctor a bit as this caused it to bleed and pull my stitches. My bruising wasn't too bad. The following week I was back at work in kindergarten a bit weary of the children stepping on it or tripping but managed well. Two weeks in and stitches were out and was on butterfly stitches and waterproof dressings. Since then I have been back at the gym easing my way back to exercising. I do get phantom pains or shooting surrounding the scar/toes and I am now finding my scar hurts a lot, has gone rock solid (perhaps should have stretched it more) and at times trip as I am a little numb and unsure where the end of my foot is. However this pain is nothing compared to before the surgery. Glad I had it.

just google Manuka honey Dressings as i cant remeber which sight now, what eles they did was to stop the tight feeling on the scar which helped with the pain,my pain dosent sound anything like yours ,as I would say the pain I experienced wasent that bad 5 out of 10 on a scale.i now rub bio oil under my foot and massage to break down the scar tissue.which helps and the scar is now minimel.I also swear by my brilliant surgeon Mr Tucker of nemarket road norwich.

i have had 3 neuroma's removed over the last ten years and i still get pain. the numbness is still there. wish i had never had it done. i believe my foot is getting worse. however i do have complications going back to losing my second toe as a result of an accident as a child. however, this is not where i get the pain. would give anything to get some relief it is a huge impact on my life. not being able to walk far, especially when on holidays, buying shoes than finding they hurt. Did it take you long to recover I am getting very concerned I am a very fit 50 year old who was working out at the gym every day and had my Op 5 weeks ago I cannot put any pressure on my foot and have severe pain, the pain now is unbearable I cannot walk and have had no life since the Op. I have tried to speak to the surgeon but he keeps telling me it is normal, I am not so convinced so would love to get some feedback as to how long before the pain went and you could walk normal, I am having an MRI tonight,

I had my surgery on Friday, April 19, 2013 (a long 32 days--4 weeks and 4 days).  I was told initially to to take the following week off (I'm a teacher).  I was pretty good at keeping my feet up and did fairly well limping with the surgical shoe on.  I was waited on by the family--it was nice.  (I also used a cane).  My toes, foot, ankle, and leg started swelling.  Doctor said I could return to work?!?  (The swelling made walking painful and uncomfortable.)

2-weeks after surgery, he removed the stitches.  Everything was very swollen.  He said I could wear socks in my surgical shoe.  I could not find any socks (even diabetic socks with NO binding) that I could wear comfortably.   I finally used the open sock that they put on me following surgery.  He said I could walk on it because it wouldn't hurt anything.

When I go to bed, the swelling goes down some----but as soon as I get up and begin moving around--the swelling comes back.

After working another week, I went for another follow-up appointment.  He took one look at my leg and foot and immediately ordered a vein scan for blood clots that day.  (This leg has been swollen like this at previous appointments, also)  That afternoon I received a call from the office.  The nurse said that did not have a blood clot.  AND I should get OFF my feet until further notice.

So here I am feet up and moving any distance in a wheelchair.

I am going in the opposite direction.  I am so frustrated and I see NO end in sight.

Hello,

I am new here and would like to know if anyone with Morton's Neuroma has used Botox as a remedy.

I have heard that Botox is being used by some doctors as it relieves the pain for close to 4 months.

I have had Morton's Neuroma for over 9 yrs. tried injections, shoe pads, vitamins, many different things over the yrs., nothing worked.

I want to find out more as at this point if I can nurse this condition safely with Botox, it is far better than suffering with it.

The majority of people that have the surgery are not satisfied and continue to have pain.

Would appreciate your comments.

Had surgery done 5 weeks ago, pain is still so bad that I am starting to think that this was not such a good idea, but what were my options? After trying everything possible, I was so hopeful for surgery outcome, so far not good.Surgery itself went well, was under general anestesia, dont remember anything, went home with 60 pills of hydrocodone 7.5/325mg, took them every 3 to 4 hours, as soon as anestesia were off pain was unberable, went back to urgent care, doctor who treted me at urgent care said he had same surgery done 20 years ago with no sucess:(I got shot of hydromorphine and stronger pain pills, oxycodone 5/325mg, went home with some relif, was advised to take pain meds every 3 to 4 hours, still couldnt control the pain.Surgeon increased pain pills again, this time he adedd plain oxycodone 5mg to the one I was taking already, was taking that for about two weeks, cut back to oxycodone 5/325 every 6 hours or as neded. Went back to work 4 weeks after surgery to find out that is imposible to walk or stand, cut back my work hours to 5 hours per day or less, still very painful.Cant even think to stand on ball of my foot at all, walking mostly on the heel of my foot, sweling, numbnes, tightnes in my toes to the point that I cant move them at all or if I force the move pain is so bad that I could scream. My surgeon is taking me off oxycodone this week and he is sugesting cortisone injection again to bring sweling down, wil try that as well but at this point I think surgery was not sucessful for me at all.I would do anything to get rid of this pain that is about 5 times stronger then it was before surgery. It is so sad for us people who are stuck with this condition and there is not much that it could be done about it.

I had surgery 12 months ago,i still have pain from scar tissue but its a different pain to the pain from a Neuroma.

I have got another Neuroma in my other foot and i can not wait to have it removed.I think unless you can compare the pain, you forget how painful the Neuroma was.
