Hi, wow it is amazing how so many women, like myself, decided to have the nova sure and now are wanting to have a child. I am a nervous wreak thinking about this and wondering what to do. My boy friend has no children of his own and wants one, (I refuse to marry him because I don't want him throwing away his chances on me) I would love to have one with him but I am afraid of what the doctors are going to say. I had the ablation three years ago and still have periods but not as heavy as they once were. Though they have been getting heavier each month. Any advice?

Tell your Doctor that you are considering having children. From what I read, you should have a lining the thickness of about 5.5mm. I pray everything works out for you!

I thought my days of having children were over, I had a 14 year old son, was single and had periods that were painful and heavy. My doctor had tried hormone pills, coils scans and laparoscopies, nothing could help I begged him for a hysterectomy. The consultant at the Hospital considered me too young for drastic surgery and recommended a TCRE. I had the surgery bled heavily and ended up with a blood transfusion. I recovered well and continued to have periods which were lighter and not painful. Success. I then met my current husband who had no children, but had always wanted one. I explained that it was unlikely that I could have another child due to the surgery. We both went to the Hospital and the Consultant confirmed that I could not have a child as he had removed all the lining, he even drew us a picture. We both accepted having a child was not possible, but The consultant was wrong. I became pregnant naturally and had a trouble free pregnancy until 30 weeks. My waters broke but I was not in labour. I stayed in Hospital for 6 days before I went into labour, I had an emergency C Section due to my daughter being breach. At 31 weeks she was born weighing 3lb 10oz, with in a week was breathing on her own, and feeding well, she suffered a little reflux, had to have a blood transfusion and a chest drain but was allowed home after 7 weeks. Today she is a very happy healthy 4 year old, with a doting mum dad and big brother. The medical profession don't always get it right, there is hope for the couples who would like a baby after surgery.

good luck to you i know where u are coming from.. I am 38 and divorced i have 6 wonderful children..5 i gave birth to and 1 who just came into our lives a couple years ago and i have guardianship of him..they are all my babies...I have now met my soul mate. He has 2 kids.. We would love to have one more but in may i had the ablation done and an ovary removed due to having horrible pains that i could barely function with when i had an attack. Now im told i can get pregnant but could not carry a baby to term. This has broken my heart, if i would just have met this man 6 months earlier i would not have had the surgery... Heck 38 years old divorced 6 kids i really didnt plan on having anymore children, God has blessed me with 6. Now yesterday i got feeling bad and had a little heartburn, this has only happened when i was pregnant. Now i am scared to death, I want to have another child very badly but all i have heard is that it will not be possible. If i am pregnant it was not planned, wanted but not planned because the dr said i cant carry a baby.. Just wanted u to know i will pray for you and that i do understand where u are coming from..

I am 30yrs old i had my tubes tied in 2004 and had Novasure did in 2006 due to heavy and painful periods. I was told tgat I couldn't become pregnant. My period became only a spot and sometimes I wouldn't have one. My last one was two months ago it was more than a spot and lasted longer than usual. I went to the doctor a month later because of nausea and abdominal pain. A pregnancy test was done threw urine it was negative. I continue to have the symptoms and have been back to the doctor over a period of three times in the last two months. Still saying negative! As of right now at this moment I am having nausea, abdominal pain, urinated a lot, feeling dizzy&light headed. I took a home pregnancy test and it was negative. After reading all the post I am going to the doctor to have blood work did. This is scary!

I wish you the best of luck. I would love for you to keep me posted. I want to get pregnant, but can't find a doctor in San Antonio or Dallas that is willing to help. Let me know if you find out anything helpful.

HI: I am in a similar situation. I am 47 years old, had ablation two years ago and have been expriencing pregancy symtoms but two urine test and one blood test and an ultrasound later, all negative. They saw two sacs in my uterus said to be "likely" due to ablation. Had an ultrasound done last year end of year, no sacs seen.

I have had sore breast for two weeks out of this month, right now sore as hell, food aversion, food cravings, cramys. I really feel I am but tests keep saying no.

They took a urine and tested for infection, none found but a tiny bit of blood found. Nurse at gyno said for me to get checked for bladder infection. I am scared, unsure of what is going on in my body but I need answers soon! My stomach is so descended. Is that a sign on pregnancy????

I have an appt next month with a urologist, the dr said I may have kidney stones, but I have no symptoms of that.

I am going crazy!

I was just wondering if you had any luck? I too wish to become pregnant and had an ablation. I had mine 17 years ago and have had no period since. Was wondering if there was any hope for me.

Hi Debby! I was wondering how everything turned out with your pregnancy? I am seeking to find a doctor who can help me try to achieve a viable pregnancy after having an ablation.
