I had a tummy tuck two years ago and I am currently 21 weeks pregnant it's definately not like my other pregnancies I am alot tighter and the baby is in my back alot but I don't think people (exspecially doctors) shold be suggesting abortion. My doctor is treating another woman that is 37 weeks and doing fine I agree if you're already pregnant there is no use in terrifying yourself. just go with it
My doctor cant see my till monday and im freaking as I had a TT and Ogmentation 2 yrs ago and just found out yesterday that im pregnat...I have an IUD in and im not sure whats gonna be the out come anyone have any advice for me? please
I cant believe their are people who are having abortions suggested by doctors! That's so crazy, my surgeon who did my TT told me basically if i did have another baby, it would be a waste of money. Nothing more. All the money and pain put into the TT might be for nothing. then he said if i watched it and didnt gain over the recommend weight during pregnancy, it could come out fine.
My OB told me the baby would be in absolutely no danger whatsover (from the TT) that the body is a resiliant machine and it would be no different than getting pregnant again after a c-section or gallbladder surgery, or appendix surgery.
I've been TTC for 5m, 2 yrs after my TT

I'm 17 weeks and had a tummy tuck 3 years ago.
I have found that I am a funny shape, everything has pushed upwards, so the muscles that were repaired are still holding quite flat at the bottom of my tummy, but the upper tummy (above the belly button) is bulging out. Because of this, I am suffering from shortness of breath when I walk upstairs etc. All of the stuff you usually get at the end of pregnancy. I've found myseld wishing those muscles at the bottom would pull apart to relieve the pressure.
I'm sure that in time it will all be fine and my body will do what it needs to do. I'm just hoping I don't get stretch marks above the belly button this time. I'm fully prepared to get another TT if needs be but upper belly stretch marks will be a bit of a pain.

i had a tt two 1/2 years ago and I am thinking about becoming pregos again. Has anybody you know done this? What does it look like when you are done? Is it any more painful/unusual than your other pregnancies?
Well I had a TT nearly 3 years ago and now I'm 4 months pregnant.
So far, my consultatant does not seem very concerned about the TT and just tells me that my belly will stretch, its what they're made to do.
However, I feel some pain in my stomach muscles, I can feel that it is pulling the muscles appart somewhat.
Also, my skin feels so tight, I'm using oils and lotion but I don't think that my skin had much give left in it and I can just imagine the stretch marks I'll have by the end of the pregnancy.
I think pregnancy after a TT is do-able, but don't expect it to be comfortable.

I had a tummy tuck at 200lbs about 5 years ago thinking it would help me get on the right track to losing weight. I gained 50lbs after the tummy tuck instead of losing weight like i planned. I was about 250lbs. I then decided to have gastric bypass. I lost 125lbs and changed my life for the better. I became an avid YOGA junky and healthy eater. My tummy was so FLAT with no skin after my bypass. I thought with gaining so much weight i would have ruined it, but I didn't. Total Bikini tummy. Even my doctor was amazed. WELL, I am now 5 months pregnant. I look barely 3 months pregnant. My dr. doesn't seem to think that my tt will even be an issue. I was concerened about not showing and not having room inside for my baby because of my very tight muscles left from surgery and yoga 3 times a week. I was told that i would be just fine and so would my baby. YES, I can feel my muscles starting to stretch.. but don't they all when you are pregnant? It's uncomfortable, but NOT PAINFUL! These posts about hurting the baby and delivering early are rediculous. I asked my Doc and he said he has NEVER heard of such a thing. AND... if your tt doc did not tighten your muscles and just removed skin, you should have NO issues at all. Your skin alone is not going to prevent your abdomen from expanding. My belly is hard as a rock, but my doc said in time it will expand with NO HARM. He said I may even do better then a NON TT patient as my musclees are fit and toned and will NOT rip like an unfit belly or one with mucles that are not toned. OF course, even fit moms deal with torn muscles and stretch marks, but my doc told me that if your muscles are fit and toned your tummy recovers better! So... I hoping for a better outcome then most. OF COURSE, if i was just a few months out after A TT, I would imagine that would be cause for concern. I would imagine and unhealed tummy that is going to start expanding could be painful and be the cause of some problems.

I have 2 kids and had a tummy tuck 13 months ago....i would like to get pregnant again....but i am scared of the effects of the tt...and wonder if i will need another tt after. If i am fully healed from the tt will it still effect me in pregnancy>? %-)
Ok, a few comments to all the posts I read.
My plastic surgeon had a patient that I met personally who got pregnant within the first year post op. She went into premature labor and her doctor said it was not because the skin wouldn't stretch, but because the stomach muscles were so newly sewn together that they wouldn't stretch and therefore the uterus couldn't expand anymore. Her baby is fine.
I am almost 2 years post op and just found out I was pregnant today. I can tell you, I still have tightness in my stomach today 2 years after surgery so I am prepared for potential increased muscle aches and pains with this pregnancy since I usually gain a good deal of weight (40 - 80 lbs).
My tt and augmentation cost around 12K.

I am 33 weeks pregnant, I had a tummy tuck and muscle repair with lipo in July 2007. I got pregnant really fast after I was healed ( 3-4 months after tt. The tt was so painful, I cant imagine recommending it, but everyone is different. I paid 7900.00 for my procedure.
I lost about 10 lbs afterwards.
My belly has be SUPER tight, to the point it is a bit painful. You must use a ton of moisturizer daily to feel better. I would occaisionally get a prick type oain when my muscles were streching. They actually strech length wise rather than separate like normal because they are newly sewn together. I was told they could separate as I got bigger. I am 33 weeks, but I look about 7 months maybe. Much smaller than usual. The doc is not a least bit concerned. I have gone into the emergency for having trouble breathing, they said it could be due to the lack of room in there, but it should be ok. I had a bit of pre term labor, was stopped with pills (has happened before. This is my 5th pregnancy, I was done at 4, and on nuvaring birth control when I got prego.
so this is my 5th baby, I am excited. I was disapointed to go through all that pain for nothing, but I think that my belly will be ok afterwards, although I do have very light, faint strechmarks that came in sideways rather than long ways like normal. weird huh.
I will post again after so I can update ya. :-)

I had a tt in May of 2007. I was definately done after two kids and then I got the baby itch in May of 2008. So I am 5 weeks pregnant and I thank all of you for posting on this forum. This has been very helpful. My doctor told me there is absolutely no reason why I can't have another. As a matter of fact she told me I could have my palstic surgeon in the OR(repeat c-section). I declined to do so though. I will keep posting every month.
I am 27 weeks and honestly was really scared when I found out I was pregnant. I was 2 years and 3 months out of having my TT.
I have gained only 10 lbs. and have no stretch marks at all and am kind of scard what will happen in the next 12 weeks. If I remember correctly I did nto get any stretch marks from my first child till like the 8th month...I will be in my 7th month soon. So who knows. But as far as pain is concerend well this pregnancy is much more uncomfortable but can be also attributed that I am 34 now and have had my boobs done and they have grown to and E cup!!! But my doctor said he has treated a few women with TT and there pregnancies were all healthy full term. I have not had any abnormal complications, just a tight belly and my belly button has not popped out....which kind of scares me...I'm afraid it will tear or something. ( just me being freaked out) But othewise my baby is very active and healthy. Does anybody remember feeling movement much earlier than previous pregnancies??? I felt movement at 9 weeks!!!!
