I believe the law holds a double standered on the killing of a fetus. If a person were to kill a women that is carrying a child the murderer would be charge with double homiside not just homoside. However if the mother decides that she does not want to go threw the troubles of having a baby she can see a doctor(who gets paid a good deal of money) will take the fetus out and essentially ending its life. There are two different circumstances, one will be charged 50-life and the other is out $500, however the end result is the same. I have asked many different people why this happens and no have given me a reasonable answer. Can someone please tell me how this is fair? If the state reconizes the fetus as not a persons, which is fine I'm not debating that, why would the killer be charged with DOUBLE homisided? Why would the killer be charged and the mother can make the decestion to end the child's life

Ok. I know how you feel first hand. I got pregnant the first time I had sex. I was only 17! When I found out, I was scared to death. I had so many plans for my future. My boyfriend (Now, he's my fiance) and I thought about all of the options but quickly turned them down. I couldn't stand the thought of having an abortion or carrying around my child for 9 months just to give it up. In the end, we decided to keep our baby. I finished high school and graduated with honors. Now, I'm taking college courses online. Harmony is almost a year and a half, and I wouldn't take back my decision for the world. The decision is up to you, but I'm definitely Pro- Life.

I know some people think its horrible, and I'm not fond of the prospect myself, but I can't bring myself to feel that removing an unthinking clump of cells is tantamount to murdering a human being. Whatever you choose, good luck.

I have so many point to make here that I don't even know where to start. First of all, for the person who started this thread, if you are still reading these replies. I pray that you did not kill the child. If so, then I pray that you are not harmed too greatly mentally or physically by the procedure. Now on to just a few of the points that I have.
First of all, I read one post that said something to the point of, "I decided to abort the child" or something like that. The fact that this person could knowingly kill a human being. Especially and innocent child who has not had the chance to live. Who hasn't had the chance to even make a mistake like getting in to bed with someone if they are not prepared for the consequences. I know I learned before I was in sixth grade where babies come from. So the excuse of "I needed to get a job..." is a bunch of c**p. If you aren't prepared to have a baby then keep your pants on.
I'm sick of people making excuses and not taking responsibility for their actions. When did we get to the point where we think we can do whatever the hell we want with out dealing with what comes our way based on our decisions. No method of birth control is perfect, that includes condoms, pills, patches, and any other thing that they can manufacture. Also, most of them can have side effects, most of which we aren't even sure to what extent.
My sister had her son when she was 18 and they are both thriving. The thought of someone telling her when she was pregnant with him that she should have an abortion makes me sick.
Anyway, I don't have time to continue right now, but hopefully I will find time to finish some more of my thoughts later.

I was reading through this post, and the following, is a TOTAL "flip-flop". In the following, it is asked if the child is a human being? What else comes out of a woman????? Certainly not a cow....not a fish

I just think that anyone that wants to get an abortion is just heartless...... I am also against this f***ing war! So all of you people if thats what you want to call yourselves can think what you want to think but I believe that it is selfish and I'm just the type of person that will die if I have to just so my baby can live! To the person who said that the fetal heart starts to beat after 18 days, i highly wonder where you get your information from. For your information, the fetal heart does not start to beat until the end of the third month of development.

Another matter, I lost my 10 week BABY due to miscarriage, and I was able to hold my baby before giving him to the nurse, AND I WILL TELL YOU..... at 10 weeks gestation, the fingers and toes were COMPLETELY DEVELOPED, AND...... the body was complete, just simply needing time to grow.
I DO NOT judge others in their choice to abort, I dont look down on their decision, HOWEVER I KNOW WHAT I SAW WITH MY BABY, and you CANNOT convince me otherwise. Again, I judge NO OTHER PERSON, but I think it it time to STOP dehumanizing these tiny, defensless HUMAN BEINGS !!!!

If you are in a situation where you have absolutely no way to care for a baby or at least give it a place to develope in your womb for nine months before giving it up for adoption then you are NOT MATURE ENOUGH TO HAVE SEX!! Sometimes things happen in life that are unexpected or unavoidable. We can't choose the consequences of our actions so why should we be able to choose to take away the life of an innocent child that WE CREATED just because it is inconvenient? I do believe that women should have the right to choose... the right to choose if they want to have sex or not. Thats it. Thats your choice. Once you have made it it's too late to change it and you need to deal with the consequences. I know it is unreasonable to think people will stop having sex just because they are not ready for children, but we do have access to many different birth control methods and as a backup ther is adoption. Im sorry if it keeps you from getting your dream job because you have to carry a baby for 9 months but you knew pregnancy was a possibility when you chose to have sex. once you have a child you cannot just kill it because you lost a job or dont want it, so why is it different before it is born?

*Adoption is not an alternative to abortion, because it remains the woman's choice whether or not to give her child up for adoption. Statistics show that very few women who give birth choose to give up their babies - less than 3% of white unmarried women and less than 2% of black unmarried women.
*Nearly all abortions take place in the first trimester, when a fetus cannot exist independent of the mother. As it is attached by the placenta and umbilical cord, its health is dependent on her health, and cannot be regarded as a separate entity as it cannot exist outside her womb.
There are arguments for both sides, but Pro life in mainly based on religion and it's against our rights as americans to have someones religious views thruster upon us especially with such a personal decision. It's your choice, think of what your like will be like without a baby vs with a baby. I hope you do what's right for you.
