I have been having the same for around 3 years now. Almost every time my body is preparing for a bowel movement I suddenly feel awful. Shortness of breath, hot, sweating, tachycardia...sometimes but not always, my legs go weak or I have numb hands and legs and sometimes a headache. After I poop it takes about 20-30 minutes and I go back to normal.
Been to loads of doctors, no answers. It makes my life miserable as I don't like to go far from home in case it happens while I'm out because it really does feel as if I will drop dead.
Anyone still around? I have these symptoms. I'm getting out of the house less and less because of how horrible I feel
Bless you all for taking the TIME and having the COURAGE to post what you've been experiencing! I can never express how much it has helped me just to know that I'm not alone, not crazy and that there are others that have gone through what I haven't been able to explain to ANYONE else, mostly because none of it seems to make sense when you try to explain it! These "symptoms" just started for me about a year ago (I'm 70 and always been in relatively good health). I had decided that I have IBS-C, but don't ever really have constipation - only go several days without a bowel movement and then when I am finally able to go, I have terrible stomach pains, it all comes out at once, my heart starts pounding wildly, my hands often get numb, my face gets terribly hot, sometimes sweating, and I often get a headache (which I never get for any reason in many years). I often have to drop to the bathroom floor because I can no longer stand or even sit on the toilet without feeling that I'll pass out, and it usually takes up to half an hour for my heart rate to slow down and the nausea and faintness to subside. More than a dozen times in the past year I haven't made in home while driving my husband to work (an hour round-trip) because once the stomach pains start, it's only a matter of minutes before it all comes out without me being able to control it. Driving with heart racing, head pounding, face beet-red, sweating and coming home to do a major clean-up has been horrifying, to say the least! It was even hard for me to discuss with my husband and try to explain what was happening. I no longer trust doctors or hospitals locally and had decided this might just kill me before I even find out what's going on. I am SO thankful to hear from all of you, and to know I'm not alone! I've started taking probiotics, turmeric w/garlic and other natural ingredients, peppermint oil capsules (recommended highly for IBS and not cheap), and Metamucil gummies to get extra fiber, but not sure any of it is helping. Bless you all again, I hope we are able to get answers and continue to share!
