Your description is exactly what I'm going through, but none of my doctors can tell me why. I see my primary care physician, a cardiologist, endocrinologist, and gastroenterologist. None can explain my rapid heart rate sometimes before a BM. As soon as I use the restroom everything is back to normal. Everyone keeps saying the vagus nerve will slow it down, but could it speed it up also???

My BP spikes and heart rate goes up just before a BM, comes down after but leaves me feeling tired. I do believe the vagus nerve is involved in what we are dealing with. I am taking steps to eliminate all gluten and dairy from my diet and going to follow the raw food diet for 30 days to see if I can get things back to normal. I do believe that I will have to stay eating very carefully from here on out. From what I've read so far, the inflammation in the gut can cause the nerve to react, so taking the inflammation down is a big part of this it would seem. Best of luck to all of us dealing with this strange issue!

I experience the same. I am 28 and a few years ago I was troubled with Sleep apmea. I experience a puls between 132 and higher just before and very much a little while after going to the toilet. However, I have started writing everything down. And I now know extreme tiredness means I should go to the toilet. Once I am done, the high puls and the tiredness disappears. Another thing is that drinking water before going to bed makes Everything worse and makes me wake up in the night with a high puls and feeling warm.

Hello everybody, after suffering with similar symptoms for a decade now and no clear solution after seeing numerous Doctors I found this site. And I must say its a relief to know I'm not alone, as horrible as it is to deal with these issues. Maybe we can figure out what the real issues are here and find some relief. As for me mine started with Chronic Diarrhea after a very stressful time in college 10 years ago, Dr's said it was IBS put my on all kinds of medications and that there is no known cure. Diet helped some, but I struggled with it off and on for years. It hit again severely in 2011 in another stressful situation, yet this time as soon I left the situation my symptoms disappeared almost over night and I was normal for a year. This would indicate stress but I don't think its that simple. Now my most recent bout has lasted an entire year of chronic Diarrhea, I've lost 10 pounds of muscle and no end in sight. This time I've noticed a heart related component as occasionally when I wake up from sleep or a nap my heart is racing very hard and its followed by BM. Also If I do a strong cardio at the gym it causes Diarrhea. So there seems to be a link.

As far as solutions some things have helped, I did get a month where all my symptoms get 70% better after a Chiropractic adjustment on my mid back. My Dr said back issues can effect the nerves in that area which can disrupt digestion and cause some of these issues. However as my symptoms came back further adjustments haven't helped as they did before, and I've really been taking care of my back lately. Anyone else have any ideas related to back issues and these similar symptoms we all have?

There was another solution, and this is going to sound strange, but its a 100% true and it brought 100% relief to all my symptoms overnight! It was wild. I literally went from completely liquid stool for 9 months, to completely solid stool overnight after I did this. This was a few months ago and my girlfriend at the time was Psychic, whether you believe in that or not she "knew" things that she couldn't know. And I asked her if she would tell me what was wrong with my stomach. She put her hands on my stomach and listened, and after a moment she said "You need to forgive your family". Completely surprised, I was desperate to try anything, and my family had been abusive over the years so I did have a lot of resentment toward them. However I'm not religious anymore, but I prayed and sincerely tried to forgive my family. The next day I was 100% as good as new, and it lasted for some time consistently, until we went out to celebrate and I drank alcohol and it brought all the symptoms back. I have since tried to be forgiving and release anger and resentment but it hasn't made any difference. But there seems to be an emotional component to our symptoms here. Anybody else have insights in this regard?

Still looking for a consistent solution. Hope we find one. Peace
