I'm on my first period and there is reddish-black gooey substance in my pad what's going on!?!?

So this Is really confusing me. Im 14 and don't have my period. I have had white gooey discharge for about a year. Today when I went to the toilet red gooey discharge came out. I don't know if it's my period starting, I thought normal blood just bled out, not gooey stuff. Please help. Also is it normal for discharge to mainly come out when you go to the toilet?

Don't worry this is perfectly normal before you start your period. The black/brown gooey substance is really old blood that's been in the uterus for a while. This is a sign that you're getting your first period. go get a pad asap!!!

It's just your period your uterus has older blood that has to get out as well as the blood you see if you cut your knee or something, it's perfectly normal

i was on it but trust me its normal there is nothing wrong with ur body its just like little clumps of blood that come out but trust me its totally normal
All these comments helped me a lot! I'm 19 and I just noticed this and I've been having a person since I was 11. So this helped big time. And to all of you who were worried about this I know it can be embarrassing but of you have a problem you don't understand ask yours parent or someone you really trust. A woman would understand more than a guy though but thwke are some guys out their that have a logical understanding of this. But basically do not be scared to ask for help when needed. The gooey stuff is just your egg coming out if it's clotted then talk to your mom but if it's gooey your okay
I have the same problem it's most likely because you've started your period
