What you are experiencing are stress pimples. your skin has what's called normal flora. Most of these bacteria contained in the normal flora are harmless and live symbionically, however, some of these bacteria such as Propionibacterium acnes or Staph aureus can sometimes cause irritation to a disturbed hair follicle on your skin. This irritation leads to inflammation and eventually redness soreness and possibly a pustulating pore. Obviously like somebody said the best thing to prevent such overgrowth of this pathogenic or parasitic bacteria it is best to avoid sweet foods make sure your face is clean and moisturized and drink plenty of water. In serious cases antibiotics maybe indicated. Otherwise simple topical antiseptic solutions may decrease the outbreak time. Please know that each bacteria may affect a different type of poor some are sociated with hair follicles and others with sebum and yet others pores that simply function to increase surface area of the skin. However the fact that no pus is being formed in the case mentioned above Can be indicative of a specific bacteria. This bacteria most commonly has to be treated by antibiotics possibly both systemic and topical. Patients experiencing such eruptions should visit the doctor for a bacterial culture of their normal flora. Such eruptions on the face and skin are greatly associated with a state of stress in a person's life. In cases of stress the body produces a potent steroid. Steroids are known to be immuno suppressant and therefore can cause or predisposed to infection. Avoid stress at all costs.

My sister and I are in our late 30's and we both have had these.  Hard pimple, sore at first, with nothing in them, and very difficult to clear.  We both went off wheat (I went off all grains) and they completely cleared up.  I tried wheat here again, just in the past few days, and now I have two of them.  Just wanted to put it to the test.  I guess I got my answer.  Sigh.

I also get these, but I noticed I don't get them in the summertime. I linked this to my cat's saliva that gave me these horrible painful unpoppable zits, because in colder months she's inside snuggling with me and the summer she goes outside and never snuggles, but if she sneezes and wherever her spit lands on my face, I get these red bumps. Just incase someone else has pets, it's happened with the dog saliva for me also.

GET a Cortorsteriod. I am 57 and i would get the red bump it hurt kinda like a pimple that would not pop and it it dit it was crusty and i was and am left with this red bloth scar. They say stress but i am very happy - i have no kids and not married so stress is not it. Hormone change yes. Thats allot of it. Anyway i was in Mexico and i got a Cotosteriod called ELOMET. I just got a small bottle that is a clear liquidy lotion on Amazon. I also have the tube of creme that i got in Mexico as i had the worse itch on my neck and i had dermatitis/psorisis. ANY ANY inflammation of the skin is caused
by bacteria and this stuff is he BEST. also i use for terrible itchy mosquito bites. I dont have medical insurance and was so glad to get on Amazon. As the pharmacies in Thailand can send to us. I paid $35.00 for the ELOMET bottle but one drop is all you need and that small bottle will last for two years for me. I got one of those bumps again on my lower
check closer to my ear and i did not hesitate to start the Elomet right away. The bum has gone down in just the past 2 days, I put on at night as you only use once a day. HOPE this all helps. I too never had any skin stuff happen to me until about 5 years ago and then finally found this miracle medicine.

I am 13 and I got this. But it was like right IN my eyebrow, and I don't think a 13 year old should be getting stress-related marks and bumps on their faces. So of anyone knows any other reason they might occur, please tell me!

The pimple are not due to stress. They are due to the presence of a abnormal flora bacterium that irritates the skin's pores. In adults, stress causes increase cortisol production and hence immunosuppression. In children this immunosuppressed state is often simply due to an immature immune response.

The presence of such abnormal flora bacterium sometimes deems appropriate antibiotic therapy necessary. A medication such as isotretinoin, bacitracin, benzoyl peroxide may be prescribed by your doctor/dermatologist.

I am so so happy I found this post, and even happier that years on and it's still going strong-ish. I'm eighteen, and I've had relatively clear skin all my life, until about a month ago, when I developed a large hard red bump under the skin on my chin, very tender and sore to touch, but I stupidly tried to get rid of it by squeezing it, with creams and spot treatments (all made it completely clear), but it eventually reduced by itself, though I have been left with a dark-ish scar which is improving every day.

After that happened, I had really clear skin- literally no problem areas at all- for a good three weeks, during which time I went to the doctors about other mild acne on my back and was put on Tetralysal (which apparently takes four weeks or so to start working). Then last week (which was roughly a month on from the first under the skin bump), another bump appeared under the skin on my chin, right next to where the old one was. This time I didn't try to squeeze it at all but I did use a few spot treatments that dried out my skin, then I applied Vitamin E enriched moisturiser and that one has improved tons, but a few days ago I felt another bump, on my chin again, right in the middle, which has become very red and tender like the first- again, it hasn't come to a head and it is coverable with concealer for now.

I'm not going to touch it or apply anything and just hope it goes naturally in a few days, but I'm really confused as to what could be causing them all of a sudden.. I used to suffer badly from anxiety but I overcame it naturally and I've not really felt particularly stressed at all since, I eat healthily and drink lots of water, no smoking or alcohol etc.. I'm beginning to think that it could be the antibiotics but I don't really want to stop taking them because they are helping my back and keeping the rest of my face totally clear. Please help someone!
