Hi. I know exactly what you are talking about, my skin is usually reasonably clear, but do occasionally get this sore swollen bumps on my cheeks and brow. They are red and get up to half an inch in size. I am a 21 year old male and I started getting them during my Year 12 high school exams and now do get at least two during my university exams mid year and end of year. I have come to the conclusion that they are definitely related to stress and that my body is obviously not good at handling stress. Lucky that i am in hibernation during these times of year so no one can see me :)

Yes thats the same for me too. I am getting these red spots that look like sores.?? on my face and usally but not confined to the hair folicle locations. I just decided to use some cortizone cream thinking it may help its only been 2 days in and no visual subsiding of colour or size.
I can't stand going to doctors here in Aust. they're pig headed guestimators. They would rather just give you a course of anti biotics or panadol , then get you to signa waiver of liability.
where can we get some actual helpful answers.??
Signed number 37 cause my name is not important its the information we all have provided.

Hi folks, I'm 28 (male) and would say to a lesser degree to all of you I kind of have the same thing. In my case though when I was younger I suffered badly with acne (forget what they call it, but the kind of acne that aren't just spots but large patches of puss just under the skin that were usually easy to get rid of. This was when I was about 18) Since then things have improved considerably, most of which I put down to simply getting older although during that 10 year period I have used Quinoderm (think thats how you spell it) and Duac once daily get (the latter of which I only use once or twice a week at most, don't use Quinoderm at all anymore) but I still find myself getting little whiteheads which are easily got rid of without concern, and occasionally a actual spot or two. I'm a very logical, methodical person and have monitored my own condition with great detail. Nothing seems to of really helped apart from natures own natural maturity, although recently I have been fighting what would seem to be a few boils (not terrible ones, thankfully) my dad used to also suffer extremely badly with spots and boils (hes now fine), to keep this straightforward I'll list what I have concluded about my own condition bullet style, just to try and give others a new perspective.
- Dad suffered badly with spots and boils, condition could be genetic
- Natural aging seems to of been the most effective "treatment" over time supplemented with Duac once daily gel
- Suffered badly in my teens with acne
- Since puberty my pours have become quite big, which leads to easy dirt buildup if skin isn't kept clean
- Still getting minor whiteheads and occasionally a actual spot or two and rarely a boil even at 28
- I can put my "flareups" more or less on a timetable. I can go 3-6 weeks and be fine, then have a period of a week or two of a "flareup", then the condition will go away again. Most recently would be a exception - I've had a flareup for 3-4 weeks now, I'd get rid of a few spots and a few more would come up elsewhere and recently I've had a red, tender "bump" right on my cheekbone (I wouldn't call it a spot or a boil.. just a red bump)
My final conclusion: The condition is the result of a hormonal imbalance. Either too much or too little testosterone, or something along those lines. I'll more than likely be visiting my doctor in a week or two to see if this is a possibility. If anything I have said sounds similar to any of you reading this (male or female) I would seriously consider going to your doctor and asking if what you have is the result of a hormonal imbalance - odds are it likely is and your doctor can put you on something to bring the hormones back into sync.

I get the same thing and have gone to a dermatologist for this. He diagnosed it as perioral dermatitis, but I'm not sure if that is entirely correct. However, he treated it with an injection with Tetracycline or with prescription and it worked! I get mine on my forehead, around the mouth, and on or under my chin. I agree that it is triggered by stress or it could be both stress and hormones! It can be as painful as triggering horrible headaches! I feel y'all! :)

Hi, Thanks for your response! I'm turning 30 in 4 days and never had this until now. There's certainly a lot of stress in my life right now and I couldn't help notice that the red spots got increasingly worse as I went out for some beers on Saturday night (apparently alcohol can make it worse).
I always use Centrum Performance, but forgot to take it over the last week or so and I'm not wondering if there's any correlation with me not taking the vitamins?! I usually have a fruit smoothie in the morning, but have stopped doing that. I'll try going back to my usual routine and hopefully that'll help. One other suggest (wikipedia has a good overview about Rosasea) limit or cut out tea/coffee and sweets. Hopefully this will buy me sometime before I see a dermatologist.
Good luck.

I get these a lot when I'm stressed out.I've found the best way to get rid of themissue time. If you do not mess with them or irritate them they are sure to go away. Inoticed I also sometimes get them when my skin is dry. I use a light moisturizer.

I've read everyones story and because this was happening to me I started doing research and found out it was due to a yeast overload in our bodies. which according to statistics is an on going issue with 94.6 % humans in americans because of our diets. So what I've decided to do is starve the yeast out of my body. I'll contact you in a couple weeks to let you know what my progress is..
P.S. Thee are plenty sites you can go to that tells you how to remove yeast from your body Naturally. :)
