I developed a bumpy rash sometime within the last two or three hours!
It's on the back of my left hand only and is much like what others have described here. Tiny red pustules that sort of burn more than itch, although a slight itch is a definite symptom.
I've had scabies before, and this is different. It's only the one spot, for one thing, and it's not "trails" of bumps. Plus it came so suddenly. I was out and about this evening until about 8 p.m. (when my allergies were bugging me so I came inside), my friend and I both petted her cat very briefly--she's recently had to give it to a new home, which we were visiting but I didn't go in. I just barely patted the cat anyway, because it was scared of my wheelchair, so I don't think that could have caused this (and again, only my left hand is affected).
After I came in, I was reading for about an hour and dozed off for 15 minutes or so. When I got up to close my curtains and turn on my fan, I unconsciously scratched at the back of my left hand, which is when I noticed all the bumps. They were not at all there 2 hours before!
As I mentioned have environmental allergies, and have actually had one dyshidrotic eczema diagnosis (10 years ago and on both feet). This looks slightly similar except it's not in any area one would expect. Unfortunately, I'm unable to see a doctor this weekend, as mine is out and I have to have her authorization to see someone else for "non-emergencies" (and I'm sure they'd classify this as such).
Any ideas? I'm afraid that it will spread, get worse (though it hasn't changed in the last hour), or that it's something else entirely and I have interviews next week. I would rather not get the "you-are-diseased-and-unclean" looks.

Okay so I've just recently got a job doing pot washing, my hands were fine until my right hand began getting those little red pimples you have all be talking about. My left hand seems okay, nothing wrong with it, I tend to use a lot of fairy liquid doing my pot washing so I don't know if it's something to do with that or not. When I place my right hand in hot water the pimples sting but I have no case when out of water not itching just a lot of dry skin and peeling. My plam is okay, just the top part seems to be bothering me.
Kind regards.
Kind regards.
I had to post once I came across this section of threads.
Im 30 now and have been getting these pimple-fluid filled blisters for about 12 yrs. No medical coverage for years I had to wing it. My mother recommended that I start a diary of the outbreaks. A great idea (thanks MOM) But over time the outbreaks lessend.
However, when I do experience the blisters they start under the skin with a slight bubble look, both hands, on my palms and between the fingers (including the fingers around the nail). The sensation was almost like a numb, skin-stiff feeling at first. The pain is minimal, itchy at times so I use cortisone but the looks of the after effects is the most horrorific part of the reaction.
The blister eventruly burst leaking fluid and dry up to little open holes that can be painful sometimes. Ultimately the skin dries to a atheletes feet-flaky skin look. The skin peels as such for about a week and after about two weeks it back to normal skin.
I have been seen by doctors at first signs as well as the ending. The closest I have gotten to understanding what it is I have reaction to would be "Dyshidrotic eczema". All the what's Known points to what it could possibly be.
I am looking into the metal fillings in my teeth which I have about 40% of my mollers filled. Some research has potential in showing that certian metals may be cause of the reaction. This will probably be my last quest in finding the end to this reaction that I am experiencing.
In my closing I would like to add that nothing helps this condition. A mild soothing of cortisone when the itch is unbarrable but please don't get suckered into five different pharmicueticals. If you similair reactions to mine and found something that works please respond to this tread so everyone can benifit. Good luck to all and to all a good night.
Cheers!

I have a rash thats almost like the one that you describe that i get on only my right hand. except there are no little pimples or anything, it's red,and it causes my hand to swell. It itches like crazy. My mom is telling me to go to the hospital, to get it checked out, because she hasn't seen anything like it. She suggests it may be some sort of spider bite, or an allergic reaction to something. But it's weird, the only thing that i'm aware that i'm allergic to is Strawberry's. and i stay away from those.
I had a viral infection this summer, which than turned into an allergy the UVA/UVB Ray from the sun, called polymorphic skin eruption. After many tries of steroid creams and steroids was clearing up, and then when fall started and no sun started back up again, I work in a hospital and guess what the fluorescent lights in my office was also a trigger. Got them to change the bulbs and now I am getting the bumps on my hands and fingers. It starts with and itch and in a few minutes they appear, I have no idea why I am getting them and how to get them to stop. I have not changed anything I use on a daily basis. I am so frustrated have been to the Dermatologist more times than my checkbook wants. He tells me to use the steroid cream and use sunblock no matter where I go. That is frustrating I live in Pa and you know this time of year it is nothing but cold and snowy. Up until this viral infection I was healthy and never got sick. I am Italian and Greek so never in my life have I had a problem with the sun, UV Rays or anything. IF anyone has any advise on anything I will be more than happy to listen. I have tried absolutely everthing I can think of..
It's amazing how doctors can never diagnose anything - and send you away with treatments that really don't work. The skin is a reflecton of what is going on inside the body , the organs, the blood. Something is not working completely correctly and so the breakouts, rash, pimples, itch. God forbid the doctors run real tests on the kidneys, the digestive system, the blood. The skin is reacting to something. Best bet is to start a diary as someone mentioned pertaining to food. Keep the diet real simple in the beginning. Most likely it is the digestive system, and as food gets processed and moves, something is reacting badly and coming out through the skin. SO many foods have wheat in it that you wouldn't think. Cut those products out first. Get tested for celiac disease (blood test). My daughter was fnally diagnosed after suffering for years, and one symptom was horrible rashes on her arms, legs. It's the body's way of fighting the "poison"
I have had this awful rash on my legs for around a month now. It started on my inner thigh, and now it is all over. It itches and gets worse when i am in contact with water, mainly in the shower. :( It has a horrible appearance and i am embarrased to do PE with it.
Does anybody have any ideas or solutions?
Thanks. :)

I have had a serious rash for the past year or so. It was on both my hands and feet. Soaking in vinegar fixed the foot problem and gave some relief to my hands. It starts as small "bumps" which give a clear liquid when they break open. If left alone, the skin starts peeling and breaking open at any seam lines, sometimes deeply. Hands swell and I'm unable to open or close them. I have seen both VA and civilian Dermatologists. They diagnose it at psoriasis or "dermatitiis" and give me creams that so no good. If anyone has any luck finding out what it is, and a treatment PLEASE let me know
I've also experienced the small blister like bumps w/ fluid that itch and burn. Mine were just a few on the side of my index finger and a few around on other fingers around the nails. I put on a little bit of wart cream in a gel form. The reason was because my daughter had a few molluscum warts on her arm and I was afraid that my little bumps were viral and that I had caught it from her. Anyway, the gel caused the blister bumps to burn intensly for about 10 minutes but immediately stopped and the blister seemed to shrivel up and dry out. Now the skin is a little flaky and dry where I applied it but hasn't itched at all and the skin I predict will be normal again in about a week. Whatever the bumps actually were (I am assuming probably the dyshidrotic eczema) the wart gel worked beautifully! =)
I have a very annoying rash that used to only be on one hand then slowly appeared the other hand, I had it before a few years back. And it returned, it became really swollen after a few mothes, I had it for at least half a year. I was not sick or anything as far as I can tell.
My hands slowly became swollen and I could not really bend them. I was perfectly fine besides my hands which I believed was a genetic problem. Because my brother for his whole life has eczema I figured I had something the same. But his skin was never swollen or as annoying as mine.I was getting really depressed about not being able to use my hands because I draw and play and make small computer games and do a lot with my hands. Then my mom gave me some alfalfa from shaklee, I only took half a dose because I don't like pills but that half dose helped me be able to actually bend my hands again. But what actually really helped make most of my rash was the vitalizer + iron it has not yet cleared all of it but it is quite amazing how quickly it has cleared up what it has. Of course this stuff is not cheap because shaklee is a research company so the products are constantly being tested to stay up with their standards. So I anyway that is what I did, it is better then going to a doctor because the ones I went to didn't know what to do with me. And I don't have to take any prescriptions. Yay!
The shaklee website is kinda flaky actually. See
Well any questions, chit chat or ranting I can be contacted here
There that is my little rant. :-D

Just for the record, to the original poster, it sounds like scabies, but see your doctor. They appear as small red pimples and typically do indeed itch more at night. Originally picked up from being outside or off of pets, that kind of thing, they're contagious, but mainly only through skin contact or sharing things like sheets and clothing. Common places are the insides of the elbows, hands, feet, and, of course, genitals. There are two ways to treat them, one is a cream you have to apply to your entire body and the other being a pill. After treatment, wash all of your clothes, sheets, etc. or place them in an air-tight container for some absurd length of time that I don't remember.
that's crazy, I have the same exact thing happeing with my the back of my right hand. I thought it started when I accidently burned it with the grill, but after itching it for awhile, these little bumps startd to form and its been here for a month. neosporn seems to take away the sours for a bit but not the rash. Keep it covered as much as possible and I find pinching the area instead of scratching to be more affective and less irriating to the skin.
I had the same thing happen to me. The 2 middle fingers and inside of my wrist on my right hand, and the little finger side of my left. at first i thought it might be an allergic reaction but the spots were so far apart and i hadn't changed anything i was using so then i stumbled on this page and i read something about the lotion called Curell so i researched it and finally bought a bottle of the Intensive lotion. I have been using it on my hands liberally (especially those spots) for about a week now and it seems to be clearing up. it does not itch as much and there have not been as many little bumps. I hope it goes away all together. If any one else has any soultions please let us now!!
I also have this rash on the palm of my left hand. No itching, no soreness. I had it last year also, both times starting in the fall and goes away on its own in the spring. I had a similar rash on my right leg which no one could give me a clear diagnosis for - tried numerous topical lotions, finally prescribed 10% steroid cream which helped, but I think, too, it has something to do with lack of sunshine. My leg rash finally went away for good after soaking up some major sun. They even tried to cut it out thinking it was flesh-eating disease or something and now I have a major scar.
Hi, im 17 and i have these red bumy NON itchy marks on my left hand only, doesnt itch or hurt can anyone help?
