It will probably go away on its own but it will take time. I often develop these and they are so annoying. Continue to put warm compresses, it should bring the puss to the surface and you may be able to squeeze it then and find a hair.
You may get an antibiotic ointment and apply it for a few days or a week. If it’s not ana ingrown hair, it may just go down after antibiotic ointment.
Try different stuff. I don’t think you need to see a doctor about this, only if it becomes way too painful and if you can’t manage it on your own.

Hi there.
Are there a possibility to think about a sebaceous cyst removal? Because I know that I was thinking about it very often when I had an issue with it three times in my life. I know that, if this won't go away, you should go and see your doctor and often, they will take a sample of the pus and send it into a laboratory.
Once when lab technicians get it, they can identify the particular bacteria that is causing your infection, since I am sure that you are dealing with an infection.
In my case, doctors recommended a draining, because, it may be enough to cure the infection. But also, they can prescribe antibiotics as well, if the infection is larger.

1. Take Zinc evey day
2. Don't lance without a sterile needle. Go to a pharmacist and get insulin needles to lance. You could get staph infection and that could be deadly!
3. Cover w/ medium sized bandaids with antibiotic cream inside.
Good Luck. I know they SUCK!

Apparently, HS is poorly researched, incredibly rare, and impossible to treat effectively. I don't think it's what I have, unless I'm in the early stages, but smurfymom may want to talk to a doctor about it.
Does anyone know of any possibilities, aside from ingrown hairs? I'd like to avoid going to a doctor about this, if I can.
