Hi,

I have been having similar issues with my throat. It is sometimes hard to swallow and feels like it is closing or that some part of my throat has become large and is blocking my throat I tend to lose my voice a lot.  I was sent to an ear, nose and troat specialist who put a camera up my nose.  He told me that my sinuses had turned blue due to my allergies and that post nasal drip has inflamed my throat and esophagus and caused it to swell a little. He also said I had one of the tenses throats he had ever examined.  He is treating my allergies and said I could possibly have something called silent reflux (no symptoms) he explained that this is actually a common issue. fluid irritating the esophagus with no symptoms showing. I was told to take allergy pills for a month. use a nasal spray called dymsta and do a nasal rinse everyday for thirty days. It has only been a week so I am unsure what the outcome will be. as far as a tense throat he told me that if he could not fix this issue with allergy treatment he would move on to reflux medicine and if that didnt help he said a speech therapist could help with my voice and throat tension issues.

Hey, I have this too. Suddenly came on out of nowhere about 2 weeks and a day ago. Feels like something's stuck on the left side of my throat/esophagus. Eating and swallowing seems to relieve it. I went to urgent care a couple days ago because I felt absolutely terrible and was told I had a low grade fever. Doctor said it could be a viral infection and prescribed me some anti-inflammatorys which only seem to help slightly, told me to come back in a couple of weeks if it doesn't go away. I'm also getting a slightly dry mouth every now and then.  I am a smoker (have quit since the symptoms came up), and a major hypochondriac and I keep thinking it's thyroid or throat cancer or something like that, it's freaking me out. I unfortunately do not have the money to get an endoscopy or anything. Anyone know what this could be? It seems to feel better when I wake up and gets progressively more annoying throughout the day.

I am also having the same situation as yours just that I couldn't explain the feeling I had.

Its common to have this feeling in your throat due to anxiety i have generalized anxiety disorder and have the same feeling in my throat, it might be good to try and keep track of when the feeling starts or gets more intense, whether you are in an uncomfortable situation at the time also look at what you are thinking at the time if you are thinking negative thoughts it can trigger the bodys fight or flyt response causing symptoms such as tightening, burnings or lump in the throat, tense neck and jaw, headaches, light headedness, nausea, difficulty breathing, shaking, exes sweating, loose bowel movements, feeling of doom, racing heart, hot flushes, restlesness, there are a lot more symptoms but can't list them all some people only have a few but come togeather like that when your having a panic attak it would be more Likely to be anxiety if you hav had a panic attack before or if you are an exessive worrier if U think it could be this cognitive behavioural therapy really helps :)

I've had this off and on my whole life.I especially noticed it recently on my back having to talk pills. I do not know why it happens but I fix it by stretching my esophagus. I don't know how to tell you to do it but it's kind of like burping. first I take a few tiny sips warm water. sit up straight. exhale. then try to stretch. hold it open as long as you comfortably can. good luck.

I had this before! That could be a sign of swollen toungsels or toungselitus. My idea is to go to your nearest doctor and get some antibiotics to help cure your toungsels!
