I noticed in another post you said you're 16. When I was going through puberty this was a massive issue for me - I spent so many nights with a bucket by my bed, and running to the loo a few times, but I was never actually sick. During the day I was completely fine. It was worse in early puberty, and eased off a year or so after I started my periods, but carried on for a few years.

Once I'd got to about 15-16 it stopped, and is now rarely an issue for me.

I feel the same way as you guys do. I hate vomiting. I have no vomited in over 4 years! But I always have the feeling of being sick and have break downs because I hate that feeling. Ya know the one that you know this horrible nightmare is about to start again. I have always been told its a mind thing. Your mind controls a lot more then you think but I don't know. Glad to know Im not the only one that gives me comfort.

I have emetophobia really badly!! It's horrible & has controlled my whole life since I was a child & I'm now 32!! I can't leave the house without a plastic bag in my hand bag or pocket incase I'm sick & I sleep with a bowl under my bed, I haven't actually vomited for over 6 years & 3 years prior to that but feel very sick every night (I sleep sitting up in bed), on car journeys, in crowded places, etc. I don't go to the cinema or out for dinner incase I'm sick & cant make it to the toilets in time or if I where to choke on food & it made me sick. I am under weight due to the worry of eating something a bit off that didn't agree with me & will only eat infront if close friends & family. I am T-total incase alcohol made me sick. Oh & god forbid 1 of my 3 children where to pick up a big, turns me into a paranoid wreck incase I catch it to! my children keep asking to go to London for the day (we live about an hour away) but the thought of having to get on the underground turns my stomach so I haven't taken them. We have a holiday booked for the end of July & im already panicking about the plane journey, what if I where sick or what if someone else was sick & past it on!? I have severe OCD with cleaning to make sure I've killed any germs that could make us ill. I've never been to the Doctor about is as I think they would tell me what my husband does 'that vomiting is a life saving reflex to rid your body of something harmful' which I know is true but still scares me to death. I wouldn't medicate for it because i worry as the side effects of any medicine always say neousea or vomiting so I'm stuck on what to do!? Sorry I've just realised how much I've babbled on but it's so nice to get it off my chest without being looked at like a freak because you can't see me lol. I've not helped answer the original question but maybe a few can relate to how I feel & know your not alone!? Xxx

Are any of you guys getting the chills at night as well I'm on a third night now of nausea and every night I'm getting intense abdominal pain and also the chills. I feel completely fine during the day and even dance for hours but at night I get so sick. I try to get in somebody sleep but then I wake up and I take a bunch of tiny burps and farts to try and make it better but it never does. I havnt thrown up since kindergarten or the first grade and I am 19 now, I hate throwing up so I've been fighting it so hard but I've been considering it to get it all over with. I barely eat during the day because all we have to eat is frozen foods and I'm tired of eating it. I drink plenty of water through out the day to try and stay hydrated and to calm my hunger when needed. Idk what to do and I feel so helpless

i'm a male but pretty much have had "morning sickness" for the past 10 years, I would go to bed feeling ok then a few hours later I would wake up feeling nauseous and this would persist till about lunch time the next day. I was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome but that is just a general term for something is irritating you but they don't know what, I had blood tests, endoscopies, nothing was found, i tried eliminating certain foods like wheat and dairy with no real difference. I did find avoiding anything that would normally irritate a stomach like spicy foods or acidic drinks helped. I went on protein pump inhibitor drugs like losec that limited acid production but still no real change. I even got some large pillows and propped myself up at night so i didn't sleep flat which did help alot with reflux but still didn't stop the nausea. I tried every natural anti-nausea thing i could, peppermint tea, ginger, supplementing more vitamins, potassium/iron. Nothing ever did much, my parents tried to say it was stress but I was not stressed about anything.

Anyway I just resigned myself to the fact I would have to live with it, until recently I began experimenting with other supplements and have found that taking glutamine has made an amazing difference even after only a few days. one of the functions of glutamine is to maintain normal integrity of the intestinal mucosa. I just take a teaspoon of about 5 grams in the morning and at night mixed with cool or room temperature water. You don't need any prescription to buy glutamine, it's a natural product found in the body so there is basically zero chance also of having any negative reaction to it. a doctor probably isn't going to think of prescribing it since bodybuilders and generally the only people that supplement it.

so hopefully that will help someone if you are sure it isn't a food allergy or some external factor, then supplement glutamine morning and night and also sleep with your upper body elevated to prevent reflux.

I go through the same things. I never throw up though. I just feel horribly nauseated at night around 9-10. Normally I have to just take 4 gas-x or a Zantac but it sometimes won't work. I reccoment instead of baking soda, try Alka-Seltzer. It helps me when it gets bad.

Try acupressure wristbands

U r so right! U guys r so over stressing urselves out that ur actually making urselves worse. I have GERD, IBS & Gastroparesis with constant nausea & stomach pain 24/7. I'm on Omeprozole & Zofran & take GasX & Alka Seltzer Chews as needed. I've had test after test & have been to gastroenterologists in different states & trust me I've heard it from every Dr. ITS ALL STRESS RELATED!! U may not feel stressed but u r. This becomes a psychosomatic disorder which makes it worse physically & emotionally. Meditation & counseling can help deal with the anxiety & stress of these illnesses. Good luck all
