Same with me. Itchy hands and feet and then when I scratch it turns red and swollen. Looks like little white blisters under the skin . My feet itch so bad that I can't get relief til I sratch them red and swollen. Hot to the touch.
I don't know if this is what y'all are talking about but my hands and feet, not at the same time, randomly start itching severely to the point where I could peel the top layer of skin off and still itch. I've had this for years the best way for me to make it stop itching is to not start scratching it at all. Leave it alone, ignoring it. Once I start I couldn't stop until I ignored it. I dont think that there is any specific foods or medicine that triggers it. I'm not on any medication and if I were it was an antibiotic. I've asked my doctors too and they still have no explanation. Maybe it's a genetic thing because me my sister, my dad, and nephew all have it. That's the only explanation I can think of. Hope this helps some of you.
Please share any answers you get. I'm going crazy with the same problem.
A few months ago my hands and feet started itching like crazy. I see the same description over and over in this forum. The itching came from nowhere, and scratching didn't help at all. It quickly got so bad I could hardly concentrate. There were no visible symptoms, and nothing I took for allergies helped. I happened upon a single entry on a forum where the person's doctor had indicated that high magnesium might be the problem. About three months prior, I had started taking Epsom Salt baths, so I stopped those altogether. Within a few days, my itching was gone and it hasn't come back since. Please have your magnesium levels checked. Good luck to you all. I can't imagine living with that problem.
I've been having these itches too!!! They're on the tips of my fingers, my palms, the soles of my feet and my toes.
It only appears in the evening, and it gives an extremely painful itch! My skin turns dark-red and when it gets really bad, white rings appear on my big and small toes, as well on my palms.
I'm always reluctant going to the doctor, but after reading this, I just might pay him a visit, and hope he knows what it could be.
I am having this issue right now. It happens to my feet as well. The thing with me is that they actually swell when they start itching. It started about 4 yrs ago and I notice it happens more frequently now. I turned 53 this year so I do believe it is age related.
Doesn't have to be. I'm 25, and I have the same thing.
I went to the doctor, and he gave me anti-allergy pills, and they worked! he said it doesn't necessarily have to be an allergy to have these symptoms.
But then it turned out I'm allergic to the anti-allery pills. The irony :(

I'm thinking it's the heat as well. Mine started a few days ago, itchy palms and feet that start in the evening! Never had this before not on any medications, pretty healthy. However it has been extremely hot and muggy around here all summer. However after reading these forums I did just take a Benadryl to see if that has any effect. The only other thing I can think of is low B12 that can cause peripheral nerve symptoms and itch sensation is caused by nerves!
I have read all the posts on this topic and the previous topic as well that referred to itching hands and feet.
I have made several drastic changes in my life. I have been a vegetarian for three weeks now. I have lost enough weight to lose a dress size. My doctor took me off of my high blood pressure pills and my antidepressant I was using for fibromyalgia.
The itching started two weeks ago, at first it was all over. Because of the drastic change in my eating habits I attributed this to a food allergy. Then it started in my hands and feet, I get the occasional itching all over, but the hands are a continuing ordeal.
I went to the doctor to see why this was happening. My doc is old school and starting with my blood, my ph level was 5.4, normally it would be around 7-7.2.
A little history on me, not being vain just adding some clues. I am a retired nurse, morbidly obese, with a history of high blood pressure. I retired due to the fact I was diagnosed with lymphoma. I moved to Boulder Colorada in 2000 to be treated by holistc doctors. Needless to say the treatments worked. Recently at age 53 I entered full menopause, having had no periods for two years now. I started having night sweats, and itching skin six months ago which is indicative of 1. Menopause 2. Lymphoma 3. Diabetes, 4. Hypothyroidism, but it was the hard lymph nodes that lead me to believe my Lymphoma has reared its ugly head. Which leads us to why I have changed to a vegetarian diet. My current doctor wants to start chemo, but I refused. Now I, and many of you, am dealing with this frustrating, sometimes painful itching hands and occasional body.
I would advise, if you haven't done so already, to check your ph level. You can buy ph test strips online at Amazon, Walmart or most health food stores. You can test your saliva or urine, personally I test my urine as the saliva test can be altered by what you may have previously eaten.
You can change your ph level by what you eat. I have picked up several books and am educating myself in the correct diet of a vegetarian.
It is my hope that this information will help others and bring some relief.

ORAL ALLERGY SYNDROME - if you are allergic to molds, mugwort, grass, & similar, you can have a cross reaction with all sorts of foods (including some nuts & peanuts), even herbs.
Omg! Finally someone who has the exact same symptoms. I will have to pay attention to this
