My boyfriend has had bleeding after going to the bathroom for a while. It happens every 2 or 3 months once or twice and then stops. He gets sharps pains in his stomach and then when when he goes to the bathroom he has brigth red bleeding. Is this Serious?

since there is bleeding, see a doctor asap
Any time you have issues with bleeding there should be reason for concern, but bright red blood, especially if your friend is constipated is usally only a matter of hemorrhoids. My doctor said if the blood is dark and/or granular, then be very concerned. The bright red blood is caused by hard stool tearing hemorrhoids (which usually accompany constipation). I'd have it checked just to be sure, but that is probably it.
