ONce you try the Bernstein there's no going back! I've been on this diet since I was 20 and I've never kept the weight off, so I keep going back... I'm 36 years old.

I noticed your post and was wondering if you're still on the Bernstein diet and what your results have been?

Thanks,

I get so tired of hearing about fat around your waist! This is a new fad thing. it's nuts. My Mom looked like she was 9 months pregnant without her girdle on and she lived to be 100 years old. Every few years they come up with some new scare and now it's extra weight around your waist.

Have you tried to figure out why you cannot keep it off? It sounds just too easy to keep going back. If you are generally healthy, after getting to your ideal weight level it seems that with good eating ha bits and moderate exercise the pounds should stay off.. Do you have too much stress or bad sleep pattern? I'd be asking a lot of questions. And what about the Doctor at Bernsteins clinic? If he/she cannot answer your questions, maybe it's time for second opinion...

You should definitely do it! I have done it twice..( not proud) but after having a baby I went back to keep me on track...I would recommend doing the maintenance or else you will most likely gain the weight back..the diet is expensive and very strict but you loose the weight fast which is motivating :) goodluck

They increase your calorie intake if you are active, I just started and for every day I work out I get another protein! I am no where near morbidly obese and it is working well for me. Also the urine tests are taken from home and brought which I find more comfortable!

Just do it yourself at home. It's cheaper.

how much money are we talking about?

All the people I know who went on this diet gained the weight back. It is the same issue with all diets. You can buy for a $20 tops several diets books, aimed at diabetics, and in particular from the American and Canadian Diabetic Associations,  buy your own supplements if needed and you can consult with a nutritional nurse  or your own doctor as needed. Keeping to any program is hard, so maybe spending all that money is your incentive but then you go off program so then what motivates you. Better off just learning out to restructure your life in real terms to start and commit to making it a lifelong commitment.

it does work. I know it does. I have two friends that have gone on this diet. They both lost over 60 pounds within three months. So tell me it doesn't work. It's not a cheap solution and you must, must follow their maintenance program to keep it off. It is all food you purchase from the grocery store, it's just whether you can remain dedicated to eating smaller portions and eating healthy.

It is a money scam! I tried it in London, Ontario, and all they care about is taking you money. As far as "medically supervised" goes, it is a scam. They don't care about their patients and paying customers. They lie about the amount of shots you got, and screw you over. I tried to get a refund for the shots I haven't used, and it ended up me owing them $5. What? The regional manager, "Sue" was very unprofessional and not competent whatsoever. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone!
