It gets better. I don't think you need advice anymore since it has been over a year since you asked your question, but for anyone else reading the thread, you know your body. If it feels like something you can deal with, deal with it, if it feels like something is wrong, go back to your piercer, or if you have health insurance go to your doctor. Regardless of how you feel asking for help, not being permanently damaged is the most important.

I'm having the exact same problem. I got my tongue pierced yesterday, December 12, 2014. Its my second piercing. I let the first one go. He didn't pierce it in the exact same spot because it takes longer to heal, if it does all all. He went a little behind. But I'm having this odd numb yet electrical surge feeling in my tongue from the front of my piercing to the tip of my feeling. It's an uncomfortable sensation that I know I didn't have the first time only two years ago. Please, someone, tell me it goes away and gets better. Nervous

Seriously don't take it out. Obviously it's pretty damn common just looking at this thread because I'm having the same problem. Seeing that I'm not the only one that this has happened to, I'm just gonna let it heal because I didn't get get my tongue punctured just to wuss out! My piercer said after the second day is worse than the first, & the third day is the very worst. I'm on my third day. My friend said her piercing hurt the same for about a week. So I'm gonna wait it out & let it heal. Green or yellow puss is a sign of infection though, that's what you should be looking out for.

You are awesome! I just gone mine done today and the little "food burn" feeling in my tongue caught me off guard a little because it is the only thing bothering me. Thanks for your post!

When you get your tongue pierced you have to keep your oral hygeine up. You also need to suck on ice to help with the pain and you should also get the yellow mouthwash that will help as well the same mouthwash the day had you to switch around your mouth when you got your piercing that would help as well. another thing that would help is to play with it and roll the ball around in your mouth.
