I had the same problem with my piercing. but my numbness never went away. it has been about 6 months now and still dont have feeling in the tip of my tongue. Im wishing I never got it pierced. =(
This is the second time I've had mine pierced....its numb on the side,..kind of like when you burn it....I didnt have this problem the 1st time...it hurts like the devil when I try to eat....Just hoping it starts to "wake up" really soon....
It gets better. I don't think you need advice anymore since it has been over a year since you asked your question, but for anyone else reading the thread, you know your body. If it feels like something you can deal with, deal with it, if it feels like something is wrong, go back to your piercer, or if you have health insurance go to your doctor. Regardless of how you feel asking for help, not being permanently damaged is the most important.
When you get your tongue pierced you have to keep your oral hygeine up. You also need to suck on ice to help with the pain and you should also get the yellow mouthwash that will help as well the same mouthwash the day had you to switch around your mouth when you got your piercing that would help as well. another thing that would help is to play with it and roll the ball around in your mouth.
