Hey buddy, you have a gastroesophageal reflux disease, GERD can cause pain and soreness in the throat due to harsh acid content from the stomach that can travel up into the esophagus. Over time, the acidic content from the stomach can cause damage to the esophagus, resulting in extremely painful sore throat and chest pain. Typically a chronic illness, GERD can be managed by certain medications and diet.

I also suggest you to go to the doctor first. You can do some home treatment also like take vitamin C, gargle with warm water and ginger with honey. Garlic tea is also good for this problem. I have visited Flu.ca for the information regarding this you all can also check this for information regarding flu cough and cold.

I am currently experiencing everything you have described. Have you found the underlying problem or gotten an accurate diagnosis?

If you are in a dry climate, please have your doctor test you for valley fever. Hope this helps.

I'm sorry I keep repeating myself I thought it would answer each post, new at this. My doc missed this diagnosis as well. Everything all the symptoms you all have had seems like valley fever, it also feels like you can't think straight at times. I'm sick again, valley fever never goes away. Once your better it lays dorment in your chest. And can come back anytime, again I hope this helps.

Try Zyrtec at night if not allergic to antihistamines. Allergies had me so sick asthma attacks until I took Zyrtec on a regular basis.
