I too have the same thing, although my issue isn't as frequent as yours sound, but it's in the same spot and somewhat worries me.

Hi, I was interested to read about your neck pain. Mine sounds very similar though I have only had it for a couple of days so far. It really is very unpleasant..... The deep aching and wondering what could be the cause. I have taken pain meds and also rub in gel... So far nothing has taken the pain away. I wondered if coughing had caused mine as I have a permanent cough due , but have had that for years so don't think so. It is worrying. I have had implants in the jaw above and am wondering if there is a connection to that. I may go and visit a Chinese massage therapist as they are quite clued up on pressure points and tension spots etc. hope you find some relief soon.

I have been feeling the same thing just recently, I dont know how to actually explain it and i am worried. It just started after i took anti biotics for my uti, then like 1-3 days after i have been feeling weird soreness on my neck. At first I was thinking maybe its just the position of how i sleep and maybe it will just go away, but 2 days have passed now and it didnt go away. What was weird is that when i lift my head i can feel like there is a small lump inside my neck on the left side in which that is where the pain is coming, on that spot only. Please help me, i dont know what is the logical explaination behind it but i am extremely worried right now. I am giving it a couple of days and when it doesnt go away i will seek medical help :-(

I've had similar symptoms - started off with feeling like a lump in my throat when I swallowed - then soreness on one side - sent me mad for weeks. Went to an ENT consultant who put a tube down the back of my nose - instant diagnosis - acid reflux.

Apparently, the range of symptoms that acid reflux can cause include pain, soreness, lumps bumps and difficulty swallowing. Of course, many of these symptoms can also indicate something more sinister - which is why it's important to get these things checked out properly - but to resassure some of the post here - my ENT's view is that these symptoms in otherwise healthy people are most often caused by reflux.

Hope that helps

I am wondering, if you ever found out what this problem is or was? what you described is EXACTLY what I have felt over the last 3 months! (except I never found any pea sized nodule), but wondering, did you ever feel any 'thickness' in BEHIND your throat as if something was PUFFY back there? And from that area, did you ever feel like you could 'taste' your breath being bad, or maybe that it was infected? I have read all these other posts, and it does sound like a saliva gland infection could be what it is (paratid gland) because I TOO went to see an ENT and he said my throat was perfect, and not even signs of acid reflux! (years ago I had bulimia as well, and apparently, puts a higher risk of this condition) Would really appreciate knowing what you found out! Thanks in advance! Hope you are well!

I have this to and every doctor says TMJ and every dentist says NO TMJ. It will radiate pain into my ear if I touch the localized area to much. It comes and goes rather I am sick or not. I have had several tests it shows nothing. I do take thyroid medication daily but doctors tell me my thyroid is ok. I am very scared its something serious

Thank you so much for this, I have just developed these symptoms in the last few weeks in the wake of my son having strep throat. I knew for sure that was what I had, even thought the symptoms seems to be really odd for it, but then I have never had strep throat. The test was negative three times, he gave me antibiotics just in case but it just didn't sit right with me. This is exactly what I am experiencing.

Grinding teeth in sleep is probably cause for most of you ... Affecting a nerve under jaw. Talk to dentist about a night guard... Pain will slowly go away....

I believe that the pain we're feeling is due to a strain in our thyrohyoid muscle , maybe a massage could help , but I've researching about the anatomy of the neck and the thyrohyoid muscle pin points directly where it hurts and the description of the thyrohyoid muscle function all seems relative to the pain that some of us are feeling.i hope this helps a little for those of us lacking assurance ,it helped me quite a bit.

I have a cavity on the left top side of my mouth and its gotten worse. Now I have a nagging pain on the left side of my neck deep in the groove under my jaw line a little. Is this the cause of it? It doesn't hurt any where else and I noticed I have sensitivity throughout my mouth sometimes as well due to the formation of other cavities.

Some dentists have a new machine which shows every detail in the inside of your head. They saw a damaged jaw bone of mine from an accident forty years. Perhaps go for a check up with a dentist who has the latest machine from Germany,my exam Oct 2015. Now I have an ache similar to yours and found your problem while researching. Perhaps contact the dentist by writing a note and asking if he can take the picture including the neck! Good luck
