This sounds just like mine been a few months now.
Had antibiotics twice..but comes bk. Stats off with a stinging feeling in my throat then I can feel it going up behind my ear.. and always on the left side.

I also share the same pain in my neck on the left side its real unusal and i do think its something to with my whip lash i have gotten a while back the doctor tells me that im ok but im not and its irratating me day by day i sometimes lose focus in work because of the worrying i need help and answers if anyone knows what this is please reply to my comment, thanks.
I had this very same pain for several months and while searching for a cause I found this forum, where someone mentioned thyroid nodules. So I looked up the symptoms and noticed that was pretty much what i felt, so now I dug into the cause and one of the main causes is iodine deficiency. So I took a good look at my overal diet and even though I am a very healthy eater, I came to the conclusion that I did not receive the daily recommended amount of iodine. Last Friday I started to introduce a sheet of dried seaweed (kelp - basically the same used for sushi) a day to my diet. Now 5 days later and the pain is as good as gone!! That after months of it very gradually getting worse. Such a relief! Hopefully my finding will help someone else here.

Many of these symptoms sound like cricopharyngeal spasms. They are caused by stress and is relieved by eating.
Thats totally normal everyonr has that.
This is really bizarre. I have not had the sinus or ear infections or any other issues, but what you're describing with your neck and under your jaw is exactly what I've just started experiencing in the past six weeks or so. Any suggestions are welcome. I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what this could be.
What were your results?
I have been going through similar symptoms for 2 years. White dry tongue which I can scrap off, sore to swallow and painful of to push on right side of throat .... No one can give me an answer

I have the same type of problems going on as well. I do have lupus but I randomly get a shooting ear pain as well as the front of the neck dull ache. It hurts when I swallow & it comes & goes. It is so strange. I've seen several doctors & none can pin point. I'm finally seeing a neurologist & she has ordered a CT scan of the front of the neck. So I guess we will see what happens!
