I'm not doctor and everyone is different, but Ihave to say I tried prilosec once a day and at night I would take one benadryl and viola, no more pulsing. I think since that cured me I'm going to have to go find out what the problem is and how bad it is. I only took the prilosec for two weeks because that is all you're supposed to take it. I've be OK since I stopped, we'll see I guess. If I find out more I'll leave a follow up.

I'm not sure if I'm replying to my previous post or to mommy42009, but I'm just leaving a follow up, today is 9/8/12, and since I stopped taking the prilosec my pulsing has not come back. I am very thankful. As gerald roby posted, it is not painful at all, just very noticable to the point of waking me up at night and keeping me from sleeping. So far, they prilosec for two weeks did the trick, and I found that on the internet, and it suggested to take on 25mg benadryl with it. Not sure why, but I did that too. This was the regimine suggested by docs for people who have too much stomach acid production for unknown reasons, and it move up into the esophagus and make it raw. That is the mild version of what has happened, could be worse for some people, I'm hoping for me it was the mild version and I hope I don't have an ulcer or hietal hernia, but any way, I'm good so far, just like brand new, LOL, for a 43 year old any way. I've never been on to experience gas or heartburn in the past, so this was really weird for me. I thought it was a aoritc anurism from some articles on the internet, but that seemed extreme to me. Any way, sorry for the long follow up, hope everyone else is well, and I hope some will try the prilosec and benadryl and hope it works for them. Take care all. Please excuse my typos.

Hi Laura, I haven't gone to the doctors since I'm fine now. I've had no problems since I took the Prilosec and 25mg Benadryl for 2 weeks. It's amazing because I suffered with this weird pulsing for months before I found a possible treatment, and low and behold, it worked!!! I had been worried the syptoms would come back but they haven't. I guess the two weeks was enough time for whatever was raw to have healed. I hope this helps.

Hi Carol - I have the EXACT same symptoms - just had an abdominal ultrasound. Did you get any answers yet? Did you have any tests?

Hi Robynk - I never did have to see a doctor. I took Prilosec and 25mg Benadryl for 2 weeks and I haven't had any problems since. The was many months ago at this point. I told myself at the time if the Prilosec didn't work I'd have to see a doctor, but thanks goodness it did. I read up on the thobbing and it seems all the tests they like to do are incredibly expensive and I am without insurance so I really didn't want to do it unless absolutely necessary. I have also cut back on acidic things such as tomato sauce and OJ, and been sticking more on the dairy side. So far so good. I hope this help.

Have you been tested for fibroids? This is what it sounds like to me - I'm not doctor but I've had fibroids removed 2 times.

I'm 15 and I have this pulsing sensation in my stomach. I've been getting this sensation for many months now. Sometimes it's stronger than other times but none the less I can always feel it and it is very noticeable as my friends/boyfriend have picked up on it. If anyone has figured as to what it is, I would appreciate anyone let me know. Thank you.

I've got the same problem.

Just a word of caution, Benadryl is STRONGLY linked to ALZHEIMERS! TRY DIFFERENT ANTIHISTAMINE!!!

Benadryl is the suggested antihistamine, and it only was taken for 2 weeks, so I think it was worth the risk. It is of course up to the individual. Everyone should see a doctor, however, that is not always possible. Prilosec and Benadryl fixed my problem so I have no regrets at all. No other antihistamine was suggested for this aliment, but I guess people can try another, however, it may not have the same results. Thanks for the info on Alzheimers, I had not ever heard of that connection before.

I had the exact same. I went for an abdominal ultrasound and it showed that I have a large gall stone in my gall bladder as well as irritable bowl syndrome. In November and December, I was very stressed and thats when these symtpons occurred. The pulsing seems to be the (descending) aorta that lies behind the stomach on the left side. It is an artery that everyone has and pulses in-time with our heart beat. When you are stressed the pulsing can become more pronounced and you can see it and feel it.

Mine went away as soon as I took care of my stress. Regardless of anyone's experience or advice - I would go to the doctor as they know your medical history and can make an informed decision.

Did you ever find out what the problem was? I'm experiencing much the same symptoms! Kind of scarey to feel like that and not know what's going on

Hey maddi. I'm only 17 and have been getting that pulse feeling in my stomach too. It only just started happening today. It doesn't hurt but it's annoying and worrying. I don't know if it's cause of stress since I have exams coming up or if it's a serious problem. Have you found out the reason to your problem yet? I think I should go to the doctors but I don't want to worry my parents just yet.
Thank you for your attention and hope all is going well for you.

HI everyone. I've been having the same issues for a while now. In September I had an exploratory laparoscopic procedure done which showed that I have Pelvic Congestion Syndrome. This can cause pulsating in the abdomen and pain. The veins that bring blood from your body back to your heart have tiny valves inside to push the flowing blood up against the force of gravity. When the valves leak or fail the blood pools and stretches the veins. The stretching can cause pitched nerves or pressure on nerves and other organs. I'm having a hysterectomy performed in a month to fix me. Hope you all get some answers. Ask your doctor about this condition if you are still having problems.
