I so wish Trazodone worked for me, it has never had affect on me at any dose. Klonopin used to help a little, now I could take 4 and be relaxed at best. As a severe insomniac I just want to sleep...

All I can say is dude as much as I agree with you, I'm actually an athlete, train multiple hours a day, and still suffer from insomnia and depression. I'm sure it's less than if I wasn't an athlete, wouldn't know have been one my whole life, but the point is sometimes these things are more complex. Also yea sleeping pills are short term solutions for 99% of people, myself included, but before a big event I opt to use them since I suffer from insomnia and normally get to bed at 2am. Which is fine since I train in the afternoon and my mornings are spent studying and I tend to get everything done quickly, so I just adapted to my natural sleep cycle. (I guess being born at 2am didn't help me haha) but on game day I have to be up early and my first event often starts at like 8am, a time I usually would be asleep, so 2 weeks prior I start a sleeping pill cycle which I then drop after game day. My sleep tends to go back to 1-2am till 9-10am. So I get enough sleep in but the times suck. If I try and keep waking up at 6-7am I just end up sleeping from 1-2am till 7am which means I'm not getting enough sleep in to perform at my best as an athlete.

wow! I thought my brain was always on over drive! You had Cat scans and the whole studying of your brain right? You wrote this over a year ago, did you find some resolution? Nothing works for me other than staying up a few days and then taking a different drug weekly. My body gets immune fast. I have felt and expressed the same rage and frustration. Did you ever think we were meant to be doing something else? When I'm out of drugs and i just accept it will be a few days, my muses come out and I do the most amazing art work and writing I've ever done. The next morning after breakfast in the sun room, I go back to my art and I'm stunned because there are things on the canvas I did not intentionally nor remember doing. If by day 5 I wasn't going out of my mind, I wouldn't mind it every couple of weeks.
