I'm on day 8. Still have all my symptoms, but they are less and less intense with every day. Was on subs for 3 years. This is not easy!
I have done lots of research, on this detox stuff, but I am no means a professional.
But I've been using Kratom (low natural opiate herb) to ease the w/d symptoms, along with low dose oc opiates. No more than 5mg a day (just to be able to function at work). I only use them when absolutly nessesary, aka work. The theory behind this is that they help knock the binding receptors off. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS IF YOUR NOT MENTALLY ABLE. Let me repeat this... I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR EVERYONE. I'm so sick of this drug and drugs, that I never ever in my most screwed up dreams ever want to get back to this state. THIS METHOD IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. I also take tylenol P.M. for sleep. It helps me get about 4-6 hrs a night. I will be stopping the opiates today, as I expect the receptors to be nearly free themselves. If you choose to do this, only buy a few (low mg!!!!) pills and take them after 72 hours from your last Sub dose. Also, gym helps (sweat room even better). And I'm even thinking about doing a herbal detox (from wholefoods) which helps flush out your system. and then renutrient it with veggies and whatknot. I'll try and post my outcome in a day or two. Hang in there people, it will end! I'm at work now, it sucks, but shows you that it can be done! Also, those cases of this sh*t lasting more than 2-3 weeks is very uncommon!!!!

I have dropped of from 4 mg/day to zero May 2-been 6 weeks and I am just now able to work ( consruction) but have troubles with nervous stomach and have to still take immodium, but my head is clear, am still somewhat weak, but the stomach thing- bitterflies get worse thru the day. This cold turket appproach works, but not for anyonew that is not fully determined and has su[pport of a caregiver or spouse. Man it is not easy, but worth it now this time out. Get some Ativan , lomitol, maybe sleep meds and go into hiding for 3 weeks - important- do not take any pain killers during tis period- they make it much worse for the smal and short releif

I am going threw the same thing I've been taking suboxine for around 3yrs now, not always threw a clinic. But I had stop taking them about 4 days ago starting to get cold chills, restless legs, no energy. But at the same time I'm very happy to FINALLY get off this sh*t! But I'm also scared how bad is it going to get & when will I feel normal again. I'm proscribed xannax and that seems to help but I still feel it, if ne body knows how to make this more comfortable or knows how long it will be before the torture is over. Please give me some insight I'm scared

This August will be a year since I have kicked suboxone. I am totally drug free, healthy, happy and most importantly normal, by normal I mean in the sense that I can just live my life with out having to worry about paying for suboxone or not being able to leave town or go on vacation with out my prescription, I can just go. I was addicted to various opiates for 16 years and I am finally free! Please stick with it. There's a better life waiting for all of you.

I am addicted too opiates for 6+ years...I never had a script, except last year for subs. One day I could do 3 bags of d, the next day half a sub, the next day a 30 I mean it really depended on how much money I had. Well I prepared myself mentally and told my parents I would be kickin. I basically been using the last 3 years just to feel normal, to get out of bed.. Anyways it's day 6 and I feel a he'll of a lot better! Not much sleep, and still sick, but a he'll of allot better than days 1-2-3'..I'm telling you stick with it! Them first couple days will be hell but get over the hump. The worse is over.
I would recommend you dont take small doses too help, because you are putting yourself threw extra withdrawal. I read on here about pushing yourself to excercise so on day 4 I mowed my football field of a lawn...I was ready to give up day 2 when it was most intense.
-Highly reccomend- on the first couple days the only time I felt BETTER was when I laid on my deck letting the sun beat on me...serious I did this all day, during day 1 and 2 I'd say the suns equivalent to a hot shower...THIS Works.
Also during them first couple days I forced myself too eat.
I would listen too rap songs that got me hype and told myself m a beast. I forced myself too do pushups, mow my lawn, eat everyday....and the occasional AA meeting. I also popped seroquil too Try to sleep , because I have no Xanax or trees. Heh. I would love to have that sh*t but I'm going to give a shot at Staying clean...nothing to lose.
You get really emotional when it's the first couple days...this Is normal I would say th part in 50,s movie get rich or die trying after he gets shot in the face and crushes up his morphine and says" I can do without anything" about 1000 times in my head, or this 2 shall pass... You don't need all the extra drugs too kick...you need a support group AND tell yourself you can do anything. I really had NO business doing pushups let alone any physical activity, but I can tell you after 6 years of nonstop using I'm close to 85%. I just still can't sleep, sneeze, and have the weakest bg's. I feel amazing compared too the first 3 days. Push yourself and good luck , I'm 6 days in and feel great

Ok, to follow up with my previous post. I'm on Day 13. I feel like I'm just about done. I'm still taking Kratom in the morning afternoon and before bed (I wake up at like 3am wide awake until I take some, but Kratom helps a lot with sleep + night time sleep pills).
I will have to say that I would recommend going the low opiate route, as long as your not using it to get high. I caught myself wanting to take more than I should. But I didn't. You need need to be disiplined if your going to do this, because its easy to want to become dependent on opiates again. I'm going to continue taking Kratom. Its such a low dose of opiate, that the w/d, if I ever get any, should only take a day or two to get rid of. And its nothing like what I just went through.
If I were to do it again. I would have gotten/used more Condone/vics, or any other low dose pain meds. Started high like I did, then weaned down in a progression. Like start with 20mg on the 2nd and 3rd days (this way you know where you stand on your w/d's. If you dont wait long enough, you may still have subs in your system, and will be pointless. Also, you want to know how bad things are, so you have something to compare it too. e.g. You need to experience sub w/d's so your not taking too much opiates. You should only take what you need, and nothing more!). 15mg for the 4-5th days, 10mg, for the 6-7th day. 5mg for the 8-9th days, and either switch to kratom for the remainder, like I currently am (which is super low dose's of opiates), or take little pills. I suggest Kratom, because you'll have less physical dependence on Narcotic opiates.
But I will have to say. .. if you are disciplined enough to take only what you really need too. When you really need to, and not lie to yourself. using low mg opiates can be beneficial. Like is has with me. I also highly recommend exercise, and sun. Use the sun as a tool for happyness. Its summer!!!! better to be getting clean now, than in the winter when things get depressing!!!!.
I wish all the best. This was one of the hardest things I've done. But it can be done! Stick to it. Everyday your not on subs, is a day closer to freedom!!!! I will post back again. And will keep up with any questions anyone may have. The more we communicate on this topic, the more information there will be for people like you and me!!!

If you are reading these posts please remember that everyone is going to react differently. I too have searched for the end of the w/ds but have begun to realize that there is no concrete amount of time that we will all feel normal again. I have had good days and bad days (right now I'm on day 7 jumped off at .25mgs). Just remember to be strong. It my opinion it is worth the weeks or months of misery if I am going to feel normal again. Another thing to remember is that we all did this to ourselves....we got ourselves into this mess and we are the only ones that are going to get us out of it. Be strong, stay clean, and remember that there is a reward for all of this! Hope this helps!

Time is the Greatest enemy of any addict. If we could only see that a month in hell is worth the rest of our lives back,we would do it in a hearbeat.but, when your in WD hell, minutes turn to hours, and hours into days, and days into months. We all screwed up.But the road we must travel is a nightmare, and to make it worse it has detours every step of the way, tempting us to leave our sobriety with the quick fix.the way back is terrible and long but its one we walk together,Find someone who knows that road, whos walked that road.go to na or aa meetings. In a wierd way we are all connected, because nobody understands us like us

I'm on my 3rd day withdrawing from suboxone. I was only on it for about a month and a half because I was very wary about the side effects. I had been doing 30 MGs of roxies/percs for about a month. And recreational use of 7.5 MGs of vicodin for a year and a half on and off. I was prescribed suboxone for a 6 month period but I do not want to be on it for that long. Anyways, it's been a month and a half on subs and I am now on my 3rd day off of them. The withdrawal symptoms suck but are not completely unbearable. I'm sweating every night to were it drenches my sheets, having nightmares, waking up periodically during the night, can't get comfortable in bed, am constantly yawning and feeling like I have no energy, chills and body aches, etc etc. I am going to Disneyland next week and don't want to feel like I am relying on a chemical to get me through my trip, I want to enjoy it, drug free! I'm hoping by the time I leave for the vacation I will be at 90 if not 100 percent. I really don't want to sleep the whole time. Does anyone have any insight?

Hi, I was on 4mg Suboxone 4X day and I have had to transition back to narcotics because of my newly diagnosed Lupus. I have Fibro and was not doing well on Suboxone. It was not controlling the pain of the Lupus and Doc felt it not safe to keep me on it in case I would need narcotics if the Lupus causes organ problems. It has been hell getting off the Suboxone. Even with narcotic coverage. I was on Sub 6 years and I have had to go on Lopressor due to increases in blood pressure and heart rate caused by withdrawal and the anxiety depression has been AWFUL. I was not on narcs. before my fibromyalgia in 2000. I am a RN and disabled due to spinal arthritis and degenerative disc disease also. I would never go through this again it is Worse that going from Oxy to Suboxone. I hope you can get off of Suboxone but I do know how hard it is and the pain doctor will only use Suboxone and does on all his patients. It is a wiscked drug.
