Hi Vicki. I didn't care for Chris Smith's answer. If you had some nerve entrapment or compression I would think one of your many neurologists would have caught that. Which is leaving you in a helpless position. Plus the intermittent nature of your pain over such a long period does not, imho, seem to match his answer but hopefully it was the right one. I'm not wishing you a lack of success in finding the problem. If however, you have done all the things Chris provided from his website of choice and your condition persists, perhaps check out these other causes of the pain you describe.

Have you tried a chiropractor? I have the exact same symptoms you describe in your first paragraph this just happened to me for the first time.

This is exactly what I’m experiencing and again trying to search for answers, the reason I found This post. This started 10 months ago for me and had 2-3 episodes then of intense pain that would last around a minute or so. But was so terrifying that I thought I would Have a heart attack right there and pass out. I’ve given birth with no pain meds and have a high tolerance for pain and this is still absolutely unbearable within such a short and unexpected amount of time. It comes out of nowhere so it takes you by surprise. For the last 10 months it has been just twinges of the onset of the pain and nothing really happens more than that. Thankfully. But it’s so scary because you’re preparing for the intense pain to follow. And today 10 months later it started again. I have been experiencing a lot of thoracic back pain lately and am wondering if a nerve is pinch or compressed? I had A 3 level cervical spinal fusion a year and a half ago and my neck has been very good. But my thoracic spine is in much pain for months lately. I know I should Probably have an EMG w/NCS like I did pre-op for my neck surgery, but that was a painful experience as well. Hoping and praying for answers and resolution of symptoms and issues for myself and you all as well. I just Know if I go To the dr it will be a guessing game and lots of testing which equals lots of $$ for them. But after 10 months and it’s starting to flare up again, I guess I should at this point.
