Can you give me more details of how this started? I have to sit in toilet for an hour each time. Stool is hard and cones out pencil thin at times. It feels as if there is a donut where my anus is and its swollen shut. No pain or anything or bleeding. Just I can tell I need to go and I never fully finish.

I had the same symptoms and was able to get fast relief by using ibuprofen, preparation h and fiber. The hemorrhoids had basically swollen me shut and caused Bowell discomfort. But once the swelling went down I began to feel better within hours. I wasted a trip to the Er and lots of worry.

Thank you. Yes I'm going to try the Epson salt in the tub. And eat more fruits. And again Thank you. Rosemary J.

I am 18 yr old
I read most of the comments. I have the same problem. I have experienced this once. I was scared to death. Heres my story:

I always have constipation, but one time its been more than that, i tried to touch my anus and I feel there is a swollen. So I went to the doctor next day because the other night I struggled. The doctor explained to me, that its because of the vein that expand because of the blood clot. She tells me to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, drink plenty of water and she recommend me to take Fibrosine (A Fiber Powder that will be mix in drinking water). I drink water with Fibrosine, I eat lot of fruits and I avoid heavy lifting. After weeks, It cures, and i was amazed. Now, It goes back again after months because there was a time I have a constipation. I tried to search the web about this, and here i am... Hope this other tips will help...

Everyone on this site the answer is go to Dollar Tree or Walmart and get Dolculax laxative the generic one works great. Two tiny pills at night before bed time and away you go in the morning drink a little coffee and it helps move it along quicker.....its safe and it works wonders, only laxative that works and is cheap, all your problems gone by morning... I swear by it...=)

^I tried that and made things worse because my anus was shut and now have to deal with bowl and gut pressure.

I am 22 years old but had problems down there since 18. Whenever I have the urge to go the the bathroom I'd suppress it for few days or even weeks. When I finally take a dump it hurts like hell (feels like passing broken glass cutting through your own a$$hole!) and covered in blood but it was healing in few days so I didn't care up until 2 weeks ago. Let's just say things got serious but I didn't make a move for a week until I bought some laxative which made things worse cos basically I have a shut anus and a ton of c**p to expel. Trying in the bathroom added salt to the injury as the stool is just going back and forth inflaming the area even more with every failed trial (hurts so bad when its on its way out so u just stop when it close to the already shut anus) Another thing I noticed is a sudden need to urinate half a liter without head ups. Finally after a week of this ordeal, gave in and went to the pharmacy yesterday and got myself a cream (neo healar), pill (daflon 500) and a solution (duphalac) they cost me around 70 AED (around 20$) but gosh I felt like I am in heaven today. It eased 90% of the pain, reduced the inflammation and open up the anus. Fear of bowel rupture pushed me to force myself into the bathroom. Alhamdullah I unloaded 70% of the stool out of my system after an of hour struggle but caused the area to be inflamed again. I am positive using the meds will make it go away.

Who'm ever read this and had similar experience please look for the meds mentioned above.
Leave you in the care of Allah.

If its swollen shut and you really need to poop try use an ice cube on your rectum. The cold temperature will cause the muscle in your rectum to relax allowing you to poop. This along with some lubricant to help the stool pass , and squatting when pooping (proper pooping technique) will help when its hard to poop. Straining really hard will only make the swelling worse if caused by hemorrhoids. A proper diet including high fiber foods, lots of water and exercise will help preventing it from happening again. Hemorrhoid creams are also available. Note: If this is the first time it has happened go see a doctor!! Don't be embarrassed. They see at bums all the time. Its their job and some of these cases can be serious or become serious.

sorry i don't believe that for one minute! marijuana is good for many things, but i am having this problem and i am a daily smoker, i agree marijuana should be legal as it does cure many medical problems, but to many people making false claims just because they want to smoke it!!!
