I have had a lump on each armpit for about a month and they would hurt on and off and sometimes get bigger but then go back down to pea size. I saw the doctor today and he said that it is most likely not anything serious but he wanted me to get a blood test just to make sure. He said it was also concerning to him that I hadn't been sick to possibly get enlarged lymph nodes. I am 15 years old and a little worried! He also found another lump under my rit armpit and one on my neck. I hope everyone else finds out good news!

I have had these cysts in the groin for years, since I was starting puberty, then more in my early twenty's in my neck and now recently in my armpit. There are many reasons the lymphatic system can get backed up. Medications, allergens, colds, viruses, hyperimmune system and even stress. I get a little worried from time to time and will finally go ahead and have a lymphoma screening, but I'm quite certain it will come out okay. This is very very common, I work in clinical laboratory science and process drainage specimens and cysts all the time. I feel like many people undergo too much stress in something that is just your body's systems doing their job. Preventative medicine is anual screening and if you notice DRASTIC changes. But otherwise, this is very common and I would take a deep breather about these cysts. Good luck to all. Just hope to put you at some ease :)

Hi, have u considered glandular fever also known as mono. I am 19 and have had this for a year going to the docs on a regular basis with the same symptoms and also the hospital, to recieve no information on the subject. Am considering getting the lymph nodes in neck taken out and would recommend seein a natropath, is incredible how natural remedies can fix things!

I'm only 16, I haven't been sick, not even the flu in my life. About a year ago I got swollen lymph nodes that hurt in my neck, but my Mom said it was just a cold and I shouldn't worry about it. I'm only just now thinking this could be related to my swollen, and painful lymph nodes in both my armpits. I haven't gone to a doctor, I'm almost worried of what he'll say. I don't even know what the signs of cancer for this is.

It may or may not be a concern. When my nodes swelled it was a tooth gone bad. They swell for any infection in the area of it. Do blood work and check for infections. Listen to your doctor. Do not let it go on with out seeing him or her.

Hi everyone.  I've been reading through countless amounts of these types of posts on many different websites and I can't really find anything that's completely similar to what I've been experiencing. I'm an eighteen year old female.

From June to the end August of last year, I lost a hefty amount of weight... around 20 pounds, I believe.  I was only 115 pounds to start with.  I'm now about 95 pounds.  In early September, I discovered three odd lumps under my left armpit.  I kept monitoring them for a while, and now I only have one small one under my armpit.  However, in... November, I think it was... I discovered one lump on the left side of my groin (located in the area of the cluster of lymph nodes by that muscle) and one on my right.  Those two were and still are fairly large.  I stopped monitoring them until recently.  I decided to check if they were still there, and they are.  They've gotten bigger, and there's about five or six more of them.  Most of them are fairly deep below my skin, but two of them are higher up and easier to feel.  I also feel some deep in my neck, but I'm not overly concerned about those, though they are abnormal.

The lumps don't hurt at all.  They move a little bit when I feel them, but in a way that a flower moves when it's still rooted to the ground.  So in other words, the lumps are rooted, but they move a little bit.

Some other weird things my body has been doing lately....
I get nauseous nearly every time I eat after I've finished eating, unless I eat fruit.  I can't eat meat without getting a really bad stomach ache.
I'm either really, really cold or really, really hot... never just right.
I'm always feeling lethargic and fatigued, no matter how much sleep I get.
Focusing has gotten exceedingly difficult for me.
I sweat at night while I sleep quite often, which is new but maybe it has something to do with my room, I don't know.
I get really dizzy quite suddenly for no reason, and I feel a weird vertigo sensation at least once a week, again for no reason.
I'm EXTREMELY itchy very often.  I just washed my sheets so it's not my sheets, and I know it's not my detergent.  It's also not any of my soaps.
My joints hurt a lot sometimes.  My fingers hurt quite often, especially when I've been walking outside.

Anyone feeling anything similar or know what I could be experiencing?

I understand it's probably nothing, but I've had these darn lumps for so long now that they're starting to get a little bit concerning.

I'm also terrified of needles and the thought of blood tests so this stands a problem for seeing doctors.... I haven't gotten a full body check-up since I was five years old.  I've also never had a pap smear or anything else that tests for serious health problems.

Hi all. I am shocked that so many people are suffering from the same ailments. I started to get pain in my armpits a few months ago. It seemed to show up close to "that time of the month". It was VERY painful, like a deep throb inside my armpits. My arms often felt "heavy" too. It eventually subsided and I have gone the past few months without reoccurance until this month. Now I have soreness in not only both armpits, but also my neck (sides and jawbone under chin), back of neck, collar bone, groin and here and there in my stomach. I have been to two Dr's in the past two weeks. They checked my glands and both said none were swollen. One actually gave me a pretty good exam including checking my breasts and armpits for lumps and found nothing. I asked why I was having all the pain then, and wasn't really given an answer. I was told today at the Dr that my neck issues were more than likely sinus/allergy related with draining occuring at night and the armpit pain was more than likely due to PMS or pre menapausal issues. (I'm 39 btw)....I don't have any other issues except the soreness of these glands which they keep telling me are not swollen. It doesn't make any sense as to how they can hurt but no swelling being present. The Dr today also told me that I have TMJ. I know that can affect areas in the neck and face, but could that affect other parts of the body as well?

I am shocked that the Dr's haven't suggested bloodwork be done. If this doesn't get better soon, i am demanding bloodwork be done. I hate not knowing what is going on and it scares me to death! I like having the internet to research this, but at the same time I get paranoid at some of the results I get, which makes me even more paranoid about what may be going on.

It's nice to know there are so many others out there dealing with the same issues. (It's not nice that you all are in pain, it's just easier to deal with knowing I am not the only one with no answers).

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS...CANDIDA (yeast overgrowth) It affects so many people and has a crippling effect if it gets out of hand. TRUST ME!!!!! This is not something that effects only woman! It affects men and children as well. It's a whole body problem. Do your research and DETOX. I have finally figured out ON MY OWN what is going on with me. I spent a ton of money going to a variety of doctors with NO HELP! Most Dr's will not even mention the word CANDIDA, even though it is becoming more and more of serious problem affecting so many otherwise perfectly healthy individuals. Our food system has radically changed and peoples bad diet choices don't help. It's good to get checked out for whatever the doctor might suggest, but try testing for candida first. You just might save yourself a ton of money, stress, anxiety sanity and time! HEY DOCTORS EVERYWHERE...you need to WISE UP and SPEAK UP!! Please educate yourselves and help your patients by suggesting testing for Candida, when they complain of multiple symptoms associated with Candida overgrowth.

It has been about a month since I last posted. Since then I returned to my Dr and obtained blood tests with normal results. In the last month, my node pain has basically disappeared, but I still have little twinges. My throat feels swollen, but not sore and I have a few aches and pains, but NOTHING like a month ago. After doing numerous amounts of research, I fully believe I have Fibromyalgia. A friend of mine had been diagnosed with Fibro about 10 years ago and suffers much of the same pain I do. Also, I quit smoking weeks ago and was told that body aches are a side effect of quitting. That could explain the little aches I have. I am going back to the Dr on Thursday and we shall see what he says is going on. I just want answers, as this ailment has managed to send me into full blown panic. I wake with a "dread" feeling in my stomach and actually end up with the shakes. It's ridiculous.

I do know tht infections such as sinus infections and such can cause swollen lymph nodes in the neck.....as far as swollen lymph nodes in the armpits I myself have had tht once and it hurt to lift my arms up and I also know someone else tht had swollen lymph nodes in the armpits and it turned out tht using deoderant that contains aluminum in the ingredients can block your sweat glands and cause the swollen lumps in the arms pits......as far as swollen lymph nodes in the groin, idk but it would make sense to me tht if the swollen gland is in the groin then maybe the bacterial/viral infection that may be causin the swollen gland must b located close by the groin so it wud only make sense I wud think to get tested for a wide range of STD's cuase maybe somethin like tht may b the cause....worth checkin into in my opinion
