I've been doing 8-10 $10 bags of decent Liberty City heroin IV'ed a day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Before that I was sniffing it. Been doing this for close to two years. I waited 18 hours since my last 3 bag shot. Then I Iv'ed 2 mg (a quarter strip) of Suboxone. I felt that I icy feeling in my body, which went away within 15 minutes. Sublingual you get about 30% absorbtion, intranasal maybe 50-60%. Iv I've read is close to 100%. For me it blocks the withdrawal just as long with each route. For pain relief very small amounts of buprenorphine are dosed every 6 hours or so, but that's for pain relief not to block withdrawals. After 24 hours of first dose I'll try 1 mg Iv'ed again. Since I'll have 1 mg from the previous day still in me. I'm going to try this for 4-6 days. Then maybe switch to loperamide for a bit . I feel like this should work. I'm a security guard so my job only requires me to be physically present, not to use my mind. I could be drunk, high, hung over, or sleeping in an electrical closet so my job gives me leeway to suffer a bit. I pay $5-$8 for a 8 mg Suboxone pill, but I got my last 3 in the strip form for $15 each. It sounds expensive but I blew through $40k last year easily, probably more. Someone here said they spent $1 million over 6 years and I can believe it. I'm planning on getting back in the gym and getting back on steroids after a few months that my tendons and ligaments get used to a little weight.. Being narcissistic and obsessing over my body was the only thing that kept me somewhat healthy in the past. It was just do much easier to get chicks by providing drugs than having a good body. I paid the price first with coke, which I kicked just fine then with heroin. Serves me right. By the way, all those ripped up guys on wrestling TV shows are hooked on pain pills, heroin and coke. I'll lurk on here for a while and subscribe to the thread to see how everyone is going.

I IV'ed 2/3 of one of my precut 2 mg Suboxone strips pieces (I only have the 8 mg'ers) today when I was starting to feel a little bit of withdrawals again, close to the 24 hour mark of my first dose. That would be about 1.33 mg of Suboxone. Soon after, the withdrawals disappeared and a few hours later I felt fine again. Hopefully this dose will last me another day. Today will be DAY 2 with no withdrawals from my 8-10 bag a day of IV'ed Liberty City heroin.

But, remember that Buprenorphine in Europe comes in .2 pills I believe. So I'm still taking 7 times the dosage for pain.

Let's see how this goes for a few days. I might switch to high doses of Loperamide (Immodium) in a few days. Heroin withdrawal from what I was taking would be unbearable by now otherwise. But heroin withdrawals cold turkey would peak for me around days 4 and 5, by day 7 they would be subsiding.

I want to see if I can go 7 days with no heroin withdrawal and then afterwards have minimal ones from either heroin , small amounts of Suboxone or the Loperamide.

Just checking in. It's been over 3 months now drug and suboxon free. My sex drive and regularity are finally coming back :). The only thing that has been a struggle is my energy level. I'm hoping it will come back as well and that it has not left me forever.

to everyone getting off drugs any drug is not easy. i started doing pills obviously, and then went to h and then got on suboxone because i could not work and go to school. when i detoxed off pills, i would wake up that day and want to die. i once went to florida for a week to detox in july, the hottest summer month and it was better then home because i knew i could not get it. about 21 days ago i got offxanex. i was miserable and deathly sick. im not telling people to get off xanex without medical attention, but i found out i was pregnant and knew i couldnt keep doing it, anyways because my mind didnt want it i was able to do it in 3 days by the  10th day i was able to sleep. now i am trying to get off suboxone. see, any withdrawl you go through, will be the worse withdrawl to you. I am on day 4 now, and i just got a job and im scared to go in, because i want to do my best. suboxone should not be taken for more then the 2 weeks to get off opiates. however, i am no better becaue i did it for a year on and off. iliked xanex, but my true love was suboxone/ the opiate high. i am reading 45 days?! everyone here reading sh*t scares you. i cannot believe you are sick for 45 days howevr you might be depressed which makes you not want to get up hense lack of energy. every body here is saying right things, because everybody is different. your mind is amazing, and everyone thinks differently. YOU CANNOT CHANGE YOUR THOUGHT PROCESS, f**k THINKING POSITIVE, I YOU COULD YOU WOULD NOT BE AN ADDICT. YOU ARE AN ADDICT BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE sh*t, YOU JUST DONT KNO IT. so the best thing to do is different for each person but physically, this is what you can try doing

1. DO NOT OVER DO YOUR SELF! TAKE IT DAY AT A TIME.

2. DO NOT SAVE MONEY, RIGHT NOW IS NOT A GOOD TIME. BUY SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD. GIRLS GET YOUR NAILS AND HAIR DONE, WERE SELFISH GOING ON DRUGS, YOU HAVE TO BE EVEN MORE SELFISH NOW!

3. HAVE SOME ONE AROUND THAT EXCITES YOU, NOT AT FIRST I KNOW, YOU FEEL DIRTY.

4. WAKE UP AND TAKE B12 FOR ENERGY, 2 TYLENOL FOR PAIN, MELATONIN, VITAMIN C, B6 FOR YOUR BELLY. ITS AMAZING AFTER 3 DAYS YOUR STOMATCH WILL FEEL A LITTLE BETTER TAKING B6. KEEP PEPTO AND SLEEP AIDS. FORCE YOUR SELF TO HAVE A HEALTHY BREAKFAST.

5. WATCH TELEVISION SERIES, TRY TO BUY THEM ON DVD. IT DOES TAKE YOUR MIND OFF OF IT FOR A LITTLE WHILE.

5. EXERICE I KNOW ITS f*****g HARD I HAVENT EVEN TRIED YET, BUT ITS THE ONLY TIME YOU FEEL GOOD. DRINK WATER ALOT, EAT HEALTHY.

6. DONOT GO ON DEPRESSION MEDICATIONS. YOU CANNOT BE DIAGNOSED WITH A MENTAL DISEASE UNTIL A YEAR AFTER YOUR CLEAN ANYWAYS.

7. BE PROUD OF YOUR SELF. YOUR AMAZING. AND YOU CAN DO THIS

8. BEING SICK ONLY LAST 10 DAYS THE REST IS MENTAL. TRY TO GO SWIMMING. YOU DONNOT FEEL WITHDRAWLS IN A POOL.

9. GOOD LUCK, RESPOND IF YOU THINK IM WRONG I AM OPEN TO HEARING MORE YOU CAN DO. I KNOW THIS POST IS OLD.

10. DOING OPIATES AFTER 3 DAYS OF NO SUB, FOR ABOUT 4 DAYS WILL BE AN ALRIGHT IDEA ONLY IF YOU REALLY FEEL LIKE YOU CANNOT DO IT. HOWEVER YOU NEED TO KNOW YOURSELF , ND PLEASE PEOPLE CUT OFF YOUR CONNECTS AFTER THAT. THE ONLY REASON WHY I SAY DO OPIATES THE FIRST 7 DAYS IS BECAUSE IT WILL HELP, DONT OVER DO IT PLEASE. MAYBE ONE AT NIGHT. STAY AWAY FROM BENZOS. IT WILL NOT PROLONG THE PHYSICAL WITHDRAWLS, BUT IT WILL DEFINETLY PROLONG THE MENTAL W/D'S, SO BE VERY CAREFUL.

YOU CAN EMAIL ME IF YOU WANT SOME ONE TO BE THERE FOR YOU, AND ONCE U FEEL GOOD ENOUGH TO GO OUT, GO TO AT LEAST 2 MEETINGS A WEEK, IT CAN HELP HOWEVER OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS DO NOT WORK BECAUSE THEY MAKE YOU FEEL FORCED TO GO. NA MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD TO GO, ITS YOUR CHOICE. AND REMEMBER SHOWER ALOT, I KNOW IT FEELS HARD.

Imodium works guys- do not start taking aniotyer drug. Some people have recommended 8 Imodium every so many hours - but really everyone is different and has different habits different pain thresholds etc. so you have to find the right dose that works for u but it will work!!! Personally for me (5'5 120lb 30 yr old female) with a 80-200 mg a day habit of oxycodone and/or roxy I have to take 15-18 Imodium when I first wake up the take 4-8 more imodium every so many hours (3-6 hours usually) and always take least 10 more right before bed - prob average anywhere from 40-70 in a day. Yes it sounds crazy but there are many people who have taken even over 100-200 Imodium 2 mg pills at a time - and they are fine - didn't od weren't backed up for a year. I am by no means advising anyone to do this. But basically you should start with at least 10 Imodium then wait - takes bout an hour to kick in. If u still feel like your having withdrawals take 5-10 more and continue (waiting 1hr or so between) taking until I no longer feel crappy. Have done this numerous times - not trying to completely quit just get myself cut way down so I don't have such a high tolerance to oxy. I have been able to go about 48 hrs with no oxy - just imodium. Please please - do not just take my word for it - go to topix type in "Imodium mega thread where are you" read all the posts there. There are so so many that used this method to quit - with addictions/dependances ranging from tramadol to hydrocodone and Percs to even heroin - yes heroin - and the one h example I'm talking bout was hardcore - she shot up even and used 25 bags a day which I don't really know what that means except for a lot. She quit successfully using lope. And I think she just had to take about 20 Imodium when waking then bout 5-10 more 2 more times a day. U can possibly get addicted and have withdrawals (though not nearly as bad) if you use a whole lot of Imodium for a long amount of time - so - take what u need to feel ok the first week then the next week start slowly tapering the Imodium. This will not fix the mental/craving part or the no energy part - it's not a magical cure but it does almost completely eliminate the physical withdrawals. For me and many others it took away at least 95% of withdrawals. Please go to that thread on topix and read - it will convince you to give it a try. I've only heard a few people that it didn't work for and that was usually the ones that just tried lower (10 or less) imodium and didn't try taking more. And as far as constipation - if h are already addicted to opiates/subs/heroin etc - that usually backs u up worse than the lope will but if u need to take a stool softener or laxative. I personally was more regular with the Imodium than when I did Percs. Please just at least research it and try before trying another option. It's cheaper and easier. Sorry for such a long post! :)

I meant to include subs when I was saying what all the Imodium works for - please go check out that thread on topix - the people there are very nice and helpful and have shared their stories of how the Imodium worked wonders for them - whether getting off pain pills, subs, methadone, heroin, etc. and to read about other people that have similar situations as your own and hear how they either quit completely whether it'd been days weeks months or years or the ones in legit pain that just want to cut back or even people that just take too many of their script and run out early and need a few days help in between scripts. There's all kinds of different situations there and it worked for them. Sorry to keep carrying on about it - it's just I hate that do many people suffer thru withdrawals or go get hooked on another drug that is expensive addictive and has just as bad or worse withdrawals when there's something so simple cheap easy and accessible out there. I just wish more people would give it a try. What do u have to lose? It works Wonders. Just wish pod known about it a long time ago and it would have saved me from mangy sleepless painful nights!

This has been the best thread I have read on suboxone!  My husband is in his 50's and has been addicted to high doses of opiates since the 90's and on sub for the last 7 years. We thought it was a wonder drug until he tried to jump off at 2 mg a year ago when he went into terrible withdrawal that did not seem any better after 3-4 weeks.  He had previously been told that there wasn't really a withdrawal by one dr and that it was very mild by another. He went back on sub and every time he approached the tapering subject, his Dr told him it wasn't time to come off it yet.  A week ago, he had a tooth pulled and he has been on opiates since.  He is determined to get off sub and he feels after a year with no help from his Dr, it is time to try again.  The opiates are gone and so it begins.  The choices are 1. Try to tough it out with home remedies, 2. Switch to methadone short term, 3. Go back on the sub short term.   Any advice from long term addicts and sub users is appreciated.

Whomever you are....this made so much sense to me and that is what I was hoping to find. I have one strip that says 2m/8mg. That strip lasts me around 7 days. I hope that's not too much.. Thanks for the advice!!

I don't know if suboxone is bad however; some of the greedy doctors prescribing it are. From my experience of being on suboxone the doctors prescribing it are just legal drug dealers. Now not all of them are this way however this is big business and people get greedy. When I was in withdrawls from suboxone my mom tried to call the dr. to get me something to take the edge off and was hung up on. I guess when you have 10 suboxone patients waiting at $125 a head a person getting off the stuff is no longer a priority. I was on suboxone for 3 years and have been off it about 2 months now. I was not shooting heroin or taking oxycontin. I took maybe 2 percs or vics a day with tramadol every day. Tramadol was my biggest demon. Suboxone ended up being the second one only much, much worse. For people addicted to morphine or heroin ect. this drug is probably a good thing however; for me it was a bad uneducated choice on my part. I'm going to school to be a Nurse and I am also a single mom which made the drive to get this monkey off my back crucial.

Dear Big A,

Thanks so much for sharing...I'm intrigued but concerned whether your method

would be just as appropriate for a much longer term user (10+ yrs). Although

over the years I've taken much higher doses, for the last few months I've been on 2 mg a day.

I would appreciate your thoughts on my case.

You can check my post from 6 MONTHS ago, I did the Imodium thing and been fine since. I checked this site when I was cleaning my cookies out of my computer and saw this one, said what the heck, let's check it out. FOLKS..., I have taken everything (except heroin or anything hardcore like that) and was on sub for a while and just felt like c**p... Like I was going through the motions of day to day, except my urge, etc of having opiates was gone. Sub really takes the urge away and A LOT more, takes your soul or something. Anyhow, I did the Imodium for 4 weeks and tapered down and quit, been clean since. I was taking opiates for around 10 years, started when you could buy them online and overnight to you and was hooked, then went to oxy, roxy. It was around Christmas time, early December and just had enough, all the dang money I was spending and having a family and kids, it pretty much came down to it: buy presents for my family or buy drugs!!! Freggin sad choice when looking at it now but I know going cold turkey would stink bad, especially at that time of year. I googled ever way to Sunday trying to figure something out and found out about Imodium, man it was like hitting the JACKPOT! I was around 250mg daily - it's heavy I know, but tolerance, dependence - creeps up on you. *****Important things I learned: Start taking Imodium a couple days with your opiates before you quit Night before the big day of NO opiates: Took 10 Woke up, felt AOK, took 10 more, felt great after an hour I would do 10 at a time 3-4 times a day, always after I ate something. Did this for 7 days and felt weird, like I knew opiates were gone or something. Each day after that, I drop 2 tabs from each 10 I took, did that day after day until I got to 4 a day. Took 4 a day for a week, then 2 for 3 days and 3-2-1. 1 on, 1 off, 1 on, 2 off, 1 on =DONE Overall, it does work - no other way to put it. Check ebay. You can by 400 2mg tabs for 10 dollars. You do get clogged up a bit, but Miralax took care of that. Laxative you can by at CVS or Wal Mart. The BEST THING: Going through all of this, you act like a normal person. Actually more then normal, happy normal. Because you know in the back of your mind your beating DOWN the opiate monster and soon you will be free. It is flat-out a miracle. TRY IT - don't do suboxone or methadone / rehab.., waste of money so-so-so-so much worse then any other opiate Also try and get some benzo for a couple of days at the beginning to handle day to day of work/kids/life. I wouldn't type all of this sh*t out for nothing. It SAVED me. And, anytime in the future if you feel the urge, take a couple Imodium. Get generic - no name brand, all the same c**p. No liquid - only tabs/pills

I'm on 1¹/², 8.2mg buno, which is generic suboxone . I took 20 perc tens a day for 2 years and have not had a pain pill for over 1 year. This is a miracle drug. It saved my life and family. Those of u that r mouthing the drug r clueless. U must have a support system, take what ur Dr tells u and do it the same way daily. Jesus Christ , a support system and buno saved my life. That dipsh*t that said take more pain pills to get off sub is needs help . Thank god for sub and I recommend it to anyone struggling with opiate addiction

Their is actually a fair amount of "medically minded" and evidence based science on opiate pharmacology that backs overall what this post is advising. Alot of disinformation exists and individual experiences on internet which are highly subjective - speak more to placebo effect(s) than actual reality with suboxone taper. Key is get down to 2mg quickly - >2mg provides little incremental dose benefit. Take months (1-2) getting to 0.5mg. Then 0.5mg get to 0.1mg or lower. 4mg strips are bigger size. From 0.5 mg step down 0.1mg each week or until stable (energy back) then adjust down progressively. Never go up and never drop dose unless stable. Try skipping 1-2 days as well. Adjuvant meds. are advised - can discuss options in another post. Step off completely to nothing if ready. if not transition to another low potency opiate (lowest dose) and for only a week or two as dependency will emerge. Be disciplined and realize - you theoretically are getting a huge placebo relief. Step off via skipping more and more days off. Just remember any transition off suboxone at 0.5mg level is too high - potent receptor binding and long half-life. You can cut strips down to microgram level.
