Holy cow you're an id**t. People like you spill dangerous info out into the world - there ought to be a law. So, according to you, the method that worked for you will work for EVERYONE, because everyone's backstory is identical. Everyone's body metabolizes substances identically and everyone reacts to chemicals identically? IS that about the size of it? Oh, and (my favorite part) - the gen. public should "Not listen to any doctor" but should, instead, trust the ramblings of some random internet psycho?

However bupe only fills the receptor to 50% instead of being a full agonist like oxy or morphine which will go up to 100% on the same receptor, bupe binds to same one but only half as strongly, therefore most people get zero buzz from the subs, unless it is mental, other than some sleepiness, maybe a small burst of energy when you first start on them you won't get high on them.

Depends on the doc, subs i would agree are not really for the long term, unless you really have zero willpower and will always go back to using if that is the case then it may be lesser of two evils, but I have noticed more Good Docs are only having people on subs for maybe a month or two at most then tapering off which can take another 2 months, no matter what any of us say though the success rates of people successfully quitting opiates for good is reallllly reallllly low and like less than 1% for IV users, hate to sound hopeless but that is a fact, the real issues are with people being overprescribed narcotic analgesics for too long of a time, which leads to the deep dark pits of addiction and chasing the dragon eventually for some.

Actually for those who doesn't know how to use suboxone is why they are going through the bad withdrawls and all that crazy stories. I've been on subs for 2 years now, I would rather that instead of abusing pills. Those who invented oxys can burn in hell. Subs changed my life away from the dark hole. Thanks to subs and my family! To get off subs properly, simply talk to dr to tamper down the right way.

Good reading folks!! I myself have been on Oxy's and Percocet for over 1 year now.. I was at a job where I needed to be hyper all of the time (sales) and well those sure did the trick! Well I started to need more and more as you all probably know. Long story short, I got sick of it.. not being able to go about my day or be "normal" without severe anxiety or just not wanting to do anything, pure laziness. I did EXACTLY what the thread started mentioned. I was introduced to Suboxone by a friend who found out I was in need and couldn't stop and having bad withdrawals. I started taking them at about half a day, a full strip 8/2mg would make me vomit.. But then I started to like the high of them and continued them.. Well I decided I had enough I didn't want to be dependent on anything any longer. So I bought up 20 Suboxone off some H Junkie (no offense) about 2 months ago. I started out doing half a day, it wasn't what I wanted I wasn't all hyper or anything but I didn't feel like dying.. 20 cut into half was 40. I took them over the course of 40 days.. I just stopped 4 days ago at my last half (almost quarter) of a strip and that's all it took. I did have severe anxiety so I was prescribed Xanax which helped tremendously! With the Xanax and being in a non-stresfful enviroment and taking off work for 3 months (luckily able to do so) I became clean this week. I know of people who use Suboxone religiously and are HOOKED on it.. My friend was on it for 6 years! These doctors want to prescribe you 2 a day 8/2mg.. No.. thats WAY OVERBOARD!! It really only takes 1-2 months of taking them at 1 a day (depending on what you were doing) then to half after 30 days then the last 30 days down to halfs/quarters (1/4). With this I was able to get clean (I was taking 40-60mg of Oxycodone a day) Eating is good! I gained 20lbs but who cares I can lose that weight I am happy to be off of this devil sh*t.. It really is the devils work. DO you think these Pharma companies really care about us? They dont... They care about $ and that's it.. Not to go off topic but that's why we have soldiers guarding Opium fields inAfghanistan! (It's true, look it up).. They do this to their people for their NWO.. Slowly killing people off. Now there is some good in it for people who suffer SEVERE PAIN I'm talking cancer people, older folks, people with broken bones etc.. But that's all it's needed for. I hope everyone the best.  I did this and I never thought I would be able to. I left my Doctors today and they wanted to continue me on Suboxone and I told them I didn't want them but they insisted and wrote me the prescription I walked outside and before I could go fill it I ripped the script up and went on my way. It's mind over matter once you have gotten out of the 1 month de-toxing period. People say 14weeks well yea that's the physical part of it..The mental part is after that it's all in your head. DELETE YOUR DRUG DEALERS #'s! Tell them your broke and you stopped. Ignore their messages. I just had my DD text me yesterday that he had something, I don't know what it was bc he texted me and I recognized the number, I didn't even look at the message I just deleted it I only saw the "Hey dude I've got.." DELETE! I know I rambled on a little here but I a tried to cover everything that helped me. In short 1.) Do NOT use Suboxone more then 6 months... You will get hooked 2.) You must decide for your SELF that you are done! 3.) Detox slowly, taper off, start to do things you used to do (hobbies) 4.) Tell others (close friends, family) people that will not judge what is going on and why you may be acting the way you are. For those who mind do not matter and those who matter do not mind :] 5.) After you are off of everything (you will still be achy and lazy) that you will NEVER go back and remember what happened to you! Remember the pain and agony you went through, why would you want to do that to yourself again? Once again pleae contact if you need any help. I will talk to anyone over the phone or via messaging and provide any help that I can. I feel it is my duty now to help and PREVENT others that were in my situation! Last thing, seek Jesus.. You may not believe in religion, I sure didn't and still don't.. Religion is BS but their is a higher power. Before I reachec out, I listened to satanic type music, Illimunati type music, rap/hip-hop. "fu**ing bit***s, getting money" blah blah blah.... I did this A LOT/listened to it. Get that c**p out of here! Seek a higher power, there is one. I am the biggest skeptic and critical thinker their is out there (a long with others obviously) but I reached out and my prayers were answered. How I do not know.. but they were.. I hope you ALL the best and god bless.

I know this is an old thread... but the original poster is correct. I was on loritbs/norco for many years. Then my pain management doctor graduated me to oxycontin. Huge mistake. I was on those for 2 years and had enough. My breathing was getting worse, I felt like sh*t every morning until I took my pills... I was sick of all of it. I went to pain management and asked to be taken off. My doctor was livid... (he was losing a customer)... so he prescribed me suboxone. The first day of withdrawal... I started the suboxone. I felt high but not high, if that makes sense. So I started researching... the doctor had prescribed me a dosage plan that one would give to a heroin user who used high amounts daily. Did more research and cut my suboxone strips into slivers. I "jumped off" after 5 days of treatment with the suboxone and haven't looked back. The doctor's office called for a follow up appointment... I told them that I no longer needed pain management because after getting off of the meds.. my back didn't hurt at all. I had major back surgery ten years ago. They never gave my body a chance to see if the surgery was successful because they kept me on the pain meds. The nerves and muscles weren't hurting from the spine injury... I was hurting from the withdrawal each morning.. which shows you how bad pill addiction is. It tricks your body into believing you're in pain without the pills. The swelling in my lower back went away within a week after last suboxone dose. It was swollen for years because the pain meds... I didn't feel myself reinjuring my back regularly. Pain is the body's way of telling you to stop doing something. While on the pain meds, I felt like superman... sometimes even the hulk... not realizing the damage was doing to myself. I haven't touched a pain pill in about a year and a half now. I wouldn't take one if you put a pile of them in front of me. If I overdo my work load, I'll take an iibuprofen and that solves out. So basically... everyone who is saying that the OP statements aren't true... do YOUR research. It works. You can be off of opiates by using small doses of suboxone in less than a week. Good luck!

Also worth mentioning... during my research, I stumbled upon a series of YouTube videos by a guy called harrysmooth or something to that effect. His tutorials show how to properly slice and taper with suboxone. When I contacted him and gave him my history with the pain meds and told him the prescription my pain management doctor gave me.. he was floored but not shocked. He said the doctor was going by the pharmaceutical company's recommendation for dosing rather than dosing according to my specific history. He confirmed that my PM doctor dosed me with what would be used for a hard core heroin addict. So, I watched this guys videos and as stated in my previous reply... was off of everything in less than a week. The week after my last dose of suboxone, I felt a little under the weather but it was nothing.. I was still able to work, take care of my kids etc. Pain management is not looking out for you... you're a customer, not a patient

Can I ask why you've been on suboxone for two years

Hey there,
I have been reading these post with great surprise. I see you have been on suboxone for 15 years, longer than any of the others. I have been on it for 9 years. It helped me get of heroin after a 30 year habit. I started 9 yrs. ago with 8 mg. I went from 8mg to 4 mg without any problem at all? I was surprised, but glad. Then I went from 4mg down to 2mg, also with no problem. However, and my shrink said this, "The last 2mg. are the most difficult." And, he was right. I thought I'd just cut the 2mg down to 1mg. But I got bad leg cramps and couldn't sleep. The Dr. also gave me some nuerontin to help me sleep, but it made me too groggy the next morning to go to work. So, I'm back to taking 2mg. a day. It does take any desire to do heroin away. I'd wound up in situation where it was abundant and offered to me, and, to my surprise, I didn't have any desire at all to do any of it. So, in that respect suboxone works. It does remove the desire to do other opioids.
In my 30 year addiction to heroin, I've done the first posters trick a few times, 4 days of suboxone can do it. But, them again, I was the guy who quit smoking Pot, by getting back on heroin one time.
So.......don't anyone listen to me, please, for your own good.:)
