Thanks for you're help. Been on subs small dosages for the last year and half. Had bi/ lateral foot surgery on 6th of November .
My last bit of sub was on the 3rd.. I really was trying the last week to wean off. I got some perc 7.s from my doc and went on those prior to surgery. My pain tolerance was very low..
Anyway still on pain meds low dose but feel withdrawal symptoms still from the subs.. I'm 3 weeks post op. I want get off of all meds..Am currently taking perc 5/325. Is it to soon to do the subs at your direction ? I know I need to be in full blown detox. Just afraid of getting hooked on the subs again , given the short amount of time I have taken my last small dose on the 3rd.its now the 23rd .. Hope you get this , advice would be greatly appreciated

Well if that is the case then your probably not mentally ready to quit ...I was on suboxone for over 3 years tried the taper to .25 mg then jump but the wd were so dam bad for so dam long I gave up thinking that was what life was going to be like from now on and would rather be a slave than loose my job family and everything I've worked my ass off to get ! The wd from subs effects you physically and mentally for soooo dam long all I wanted to do was curl up and give up ! I can honestly tell you this works IF your mentally ready to quit ! I experienced the same level of wd going back to lorcet for a week then jumping but only for about 3 days compared to the subs which I experienced for over 2 months !

Look I started at32mg of suboxone. I'm down to 8 a month later. This is the billionth time coming off methadone heroin suboxone what have u. Suboxone is right up there with methadone . I go down to 4mg tom then 4 days later 2mg. Anyone that thinks going lower than 2 is gonna help . Well then they have a lot of time to prolong the enevitable . Ur gonna be sick , deal with it! We made the choice to do it now we gotta deal with how to get off. Simple as that. No need for this prancing around the truth. I jumped off24 mg before , and had the holidays not been right there I would have made it. So don't tell me 2 mg is hard to come off on

Agree 1000%. We're supposed to go back on opiates to get off of Suboxone? That's like choosing death instead of the flu. Yep, you don't have the flu any more, but, your dead.
Suboxone isn't nasty, it has saved my life.
I find that the people who talk bad about it are the ones who don't really want to be clean in the first place. If you prefer the disease, one way to stay sick is to reject the medicine that helps you stay clean.

Soooooooo True. Sub withdrawal was the worst and I've been on opiates for over 12 years off and on and 8 years was suboxone. Ruined my life

This is not true because I was unaware that subs caused w/d until a week later after stopping and feeling like I was dying and not understanding what was happening to me

I'm replying to this in hopes to help anyone out there who wants THE way to taper off subs. It's an actual formula and most doctors I'm hearing barely know it themselves. So... ATTENTION: THE SUB TAPER FORMULA, which not only works but proves that the drug itself is amazing but it's the doctors who over perscribe it and cut people off incorrectly are the problems.
1. Reduce your current dose by .25% every 4 days.
2 if at any point you feel intense w/d you may take a .5 sliver but you have to get through 4 full days of this reduced percentage to move on to the next 4 days so if you do take a sliver, you have to try again for 4 full days at this reduced .25%
3. You continue to reduce your dose every 4 days until you finally make 4 successful days w/d free at only .25% which is basically a pin head of an 8 mg strip
4. After 4 days at only that single .25% piece, the fifth day you skip taking anything. The next day take a .25 piece then skip 2 days. The day after those take your piece and then skip 3 days. The day after that period you will be taking your last and final .25% sliver... And then you are DONE.
Yes, you'll have some anxiety
Yes, sleeping will not come as easy
Yes, you will experience some depression but all of that is a day at six flags compared to not knowing this formula.
I am so happy I found this formula online and now I'm sharing it here to help anyone who wants THE way to do it. Good luck. Stay strong.

Correction, I'm so sorry... It's reduce just 25% every four days, not .25%. You do reduce until it's .25 of a strip but the 4 day reduction is a solid %25

For whom it might concern, Arnica, found in any GNC is great for joint pain. Plus a lot of people don't know that with over the counter pain relievers, you are completely allowed to take the max dose of each different medication at once. So you can take 800mg of Ib profin, 600mg of naproxen (aleve) and whatever the max dose for Tylenol, all at once. This really helps when in a lot of pain.

I feel suboxone should be considered more for people with epic depression problems. A .25 sliver a day is enough to bring dopamine and seretonin deficiencies to a level that can't be reached by ssri's or other anti depressants. I'm a firm believer that addiction itself isn't what is genetic, but more so the lack of these chemicals, which usually sends people searching for substances to fill that void. Subs have this effect on those commonly afflicted with self-medicating tendencies to cease the behavior because your levels are being increased.
I actually used subs as a frowned upon way to get off of Paxil due to the intense "zap head" I experienced when even tapering. I feel .25% slivers should be made into a dose size, and even with its long half life could even be perscribed as a twice a week regimend. It helps with attention deficit disorders as well. Those who experience a complete shut down of motivation to perform daily life tasks as a symptom of adult add will see improvement in focus, motivation, self esteem and overall replenished zest for life while deleting all those feelings of recreational drug use as a way of life.
I know many people will not agree with using a form of opiod as means to treat depression but I think honestly many people would epically benefit from it.
Now that I'm off the Paxil and the subs, I'm back to that person who is ubiquitously discontented with life. If something works so well, why are we made to feel that this is merely instilling a dependency on a narcotic.

Sounds to easy to me too but I have a more serious situation coming up I need open heart surgery August 12 and I'm on 4 mgs of suboxone and I need to switch to Percocet four days before the surgery because the surgeon won't operate while I'm on subs.. How do I switch to Percocets with out going into major withdrawals?
