I'm with you. It should only be used for like a month . Not like you,or me 7 freaking years.. I've TAPPERED from eight to nothing within six months .Sub free last two weeks exactly . Still have bad anxiety and lower deep tissue leg pains. But I'm trucking along . God awful stuff for long term use. But your right ,never did the morning ritual methadone run. But heard stories,it sucks. But long term on subs? Oh hell no

Try detoxing off Alcohol... NOt fun.. I almost died. Its the deadliest substance to withdrwal from... I think if people pray and stay in support groups, anything is possible. Good luck to you all & stay strong. It gets better. I drank and drugged for 24 YEARS...... 5 years sober. ;)

I completely agree, but can't find any pills. I need to be sure to have those before I end subs. I don't talk to the people I got pills from, so I don't know what to do :-(....

I am almost positive that Suboxone is also used in the treatment for alcholholics. Not saying he was an addict, but maybe one of the chemicals in the Subs had a reaction to the alcohol in his system similar to what happens if an opiate user takes a sub too soon after the last dose of opiates they take. Just a thought. Sorry if it's irrelevant.

I'm a registered nurse, and I completely agree that this can work. But only...and I mean only...if you can control the pill use as he directed. I may have to try this. It may be the only way for me.

Suboxone is not more powerful than morphine..... i know from experience. I have cancer and been on suboxone for 3+ yrs. It does not help with pain at all. My oncologist is letting my suboxone dr do my pain control after surgery and i wont let them cuz suboxone is nit helping with pain now, cant imaging how much agony i will be in after surgery. My sub dr know this himself as well. His exact words were "isnt having your life worth suffering in pain for couple months?" I read between his lines and ge can go fuk himself. SUBOXONE DOES NOT HELP WITH PAIN........... CANT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET. and these drs have no idea what their talking about nor have they been in a situation like this. Experience is the key , not theory, or guesswork.

Suboxone is the Devil drug!! I was on it too long because I didn't know then what I know now. I tried to taper myself off and was taking the tiniest amount possible. As long as I had that tiny bit I was OK. As soon as I went without anything, all hell broke loose. I went into the Psych ward of different hospitals 3 times within two months. I was going crazy. It took me 41 days to feel any better. I would never, ever, ever, ever take that s**t again. A hard lesson learned. Trust me, you do not want to go through it. P.S. I use to work at a Methadone clinic but never took that. I thought Sub would be much better. It is very expensive.

I apologize to hear your experience.. I used suboxone for 3 months and was able to taper off and switched to taking ultracet with that as I tapered down.. Then using the ultracet I was able to taper down from 2-3 (50mg) a day of those.. to 1 a day.. Then simply stopped... I am attending college now for substance abuse counseling and I honestly believe I can make a difference, These doctors really don't know what they are doing when it comes to addiction. The big pharma companies do not create cures.. They create customers!!!!

If you need help getting off of any drug please contact me. I've been there. I've done it. I've succeeded! I know what to do... Every person may be different but honestly I have helped quite a few friends get clean now from my proven step-by-step method.. hope to help more people!

**Getting off suboxone does not have to be a prolonged nightmare!**
Since I have truely gathered the medical science really isn't there for suboxone detox however we can all learn from experience and mind was a positive one.

Reading so many of these threads and blogs it is apparent to me that many people are misinformed or just simply not informed. For background keep reading otherwise skip to *************

I am a recovering addict who did pills and heroin for 8 years and then did suboxone for 6 months. I too told doctor I did heroin he didn't even ask me how much and I was out of the office in 15 min with a 90 8mg suboxone perscription for 30 days (3 8mg strips/ day)!! I thought great! Being the addict I am. Fast forward to few months ago. Like many people I was making very good money bartending working hard making 6-700 a week, but with car insurance $440 rent $450 health insurance $390 (which I got solely for suboxone treatment) and cell phone $110 etc etc, you get the point, I figured something had to give and I had to drive to work and live so naturally I figured I had to kick suboxone. I decided not to pay my insurance and figured I'd fill my last refill of 90 taper down and be down with it.
Well naturally I didn't change anything took 3 a day until I had about 10 left.
****** here's where I got smart and is what I want everyone to take away******
I researched everything I could and executed a plan and I honesty went from 24/mg a day to nothing with maybe 5/6 sleepless nights and sweated through few t shirts in the night and had some slight discomfort occasional but was fully FUNCTIONAL through the process and I didn't have to lose any relationships or jobs over the process. Rather than try and make a guide I will just tell you my experience and you can take what may fit or try and replicate.
I started a fast taper down with the 10 8mg strips I had. I went from 24mg day 10 to 16mg on day 2 to 8mg on day 3 to 4 mg a day on day 4 etc etc. once I got to day 5/6 of taper down I was already down to 4 mg I started feeling tired so I began drinking a boost nutritional shake and ST. JOHNS WART (to keep article brief I won't explain all things used please google if not known may really help you) and 5-HTP and BIOTIN and Phenibut (2x recommended dose for phenibut) and then I began introducing the KRATOM extracts. This was the most useful tool in whole process it's all natural herb only other plant natural triggers Opiate receptors. It's deemed "natures Vicodin" I began heavy doses of that. At night I would take melatonin and valerian root for sleep. I also introduced thc edibles. I am all for natural things part of reason I got off suboxone too. A lot of detoxes will say to take Xanax and slue of other drugs I honestly say stick to anything natural your body will respond, last thing you need to get off narcotics is more narcotics trust in that logic.
Now I did actually feel good and worked through this whole process and was pleasant and smiled to coworkers (you get what I mean) which really speaks volumes. I also started walking in evenings. Now with vitamins, specially those I mentioned including phenibut and also Kava a root which acts as anti anxiety deemed "natures Xanax" I was able to really get ahold of my bearings and mood and "legs". The THC edibles were more for the mood and release of serotonin and dopamine which is important to controlling your mood. So by now I'm on day 10 ready to break away completely from suboxone and you will be too! I kept 2 different 0.5 mg pieces and tucked them away for "emergency" you should if not just for sense of safety. Once I made the break I was already 4/5 days into the routine of waking up taking hot shower, drinking a shake and taking those vitamins and other supplements and also I was used to the Kratom and kava and my body was accustomed and positively responding to the Kratom and kava. This is important because now with no more suboxone you will lean on the Kratom especially hard. I remember day 12/13 when I was about 72 hours past last dose of suboxone is when I started feeling unpleasant I would say but really that is all still MANAGEABLE. I couldn't sleep those nights and maybe thru day 15 and when it got more than unpleasant two different occasions I took those emergency pieces and it was such a relief but not too much a relief remember the idea is to detox and live your life and not have to feel terrible. Now I started really ramping up the Kratom intake and I started smoking Hashish honestly you don't have to but this will help immensely about just as much as the Kratom. Now I still did same routine and carried that out for another week or two after my last sub dose so by day 24 (10 day taper 14 day detox period) I felt fine and normal i began reducing the Kratom intake and didn't need to use THC for relief. I know this may seem strange but it truely worked for me hope I helped anyone out in anyway.

my husband and I are on 8mg strips, i thought that's what everyone got. anyways when we need to taper off we break them into halves for a couple of weeks, and then we start taking them in quarters, and then none, and the withdraw is hardly at all, wayyy more tolerable.
