I love this post. You are amazing. I have been through all of that and more (as I'm sure we all have.) I'm Just saying I relate. You speak the amazing truth about everything you have said. I have learned this over 15 years of H addiction and have been in methadone clinics and on Suboxone many times. This girl knows what she is talking about. The public needs to know this Info. I am getting ready for my 21st detox. I am one year on 24mg subs with benzo. A double killer. Insomnia is going to last forever. I'm not sure what approach to take this time but it is time. Insomnia, depression and that joint pain are the worst for me. I can handle all of the rest. Even the hot/cold. I've had insomnia last a whole month where the doctor tells me I would be dead if this was the case and that my brain will sleep for ten minutes at least every three days but I will be fully conscious. I've done it cold turkey many times in jails and other places and I almost think that it's the quickest way to recovery plus NA or whatever therapy. Just let your body get back to homeostasis. Although I agree with all of the vitamins said above that help dopamine development. Plus other lacking vitamins. Lots of fluids and I used to take about 6-8 hot showers a day when I started to lose my mind or hallucinate. The hot water is the only natural relief. Using Lortabs, norcos or something along those lines might help but very, very risky. If you get triggered you may not get back. I love what you said about feeling life again. It is such a beautiful thing to feel the holy spirit fully once it is all over. What a spiritual thing that we go through, so much introspection and beautiful re-birth once it is over. Why do we ever go back?

I got clean in 1983. I have 31 years clean now. I kicked in my 240Z parked out behind the Alano Club...only one NA meeting per week. We had an 87% recovery rate then. The worst part was either throwing up or not having anything to eat. Also seeing stuff that was not there. But I made it. On Saturdays they had food at the Alano Club and thats what I lived on all week. Old sandwiches. I had severe depression but I did not take antidepressants. It faded out after about 5 years and was gone by 10 years.
Now days no one seems to want to detox cause its painful.
I have only seen 7 people on antidepressants stay clean long term.

Hello.
We are conducting short anonymous survey about Suboxone treatment, withdrawal and its side effects.
The goal of this survey is gathering real life experiences from you and other people who went through treatment with Suboxone, Subutex or any form of medication that contains buprenorphine/naloxone.
We’ll use your experiences to make an ebook guide in order to help all patients who are currently going through Suboxone treatment, Suboxone withdrawal or who are experiencing side effects.
This survey won’t take more than 10 minutes of your time, and your answers may help people who are going through hard times on Suboxone.
You can access the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/92QJT98
Thank you,
Billy

I read this because I am trying to come off of Suboxene. I've been on it for a long ass time. Years.... and like he said, the doc was giving me way to much. I've done it cold turkey. Today makes 10 days clean...and trust me it is a b***h>....I would not advise anyone to get on Suboxene long term....or they are going to end up like me....and trust me coming off Suboxene is not fun!

you obviously have no idea what its like.. ive quit oce after being on suboxone for three years and i tapered very slowly and i had horrible withdrawl symptoms for about 20 days! but ive screwed up again and started taking pills heroin and subs all the time again and i agfree that the best way to get off subs and get clean is to withdralw from some pain killers instead of suboxone.. suboxone literally made me withdrwl like hell, im talking absolutley no sleep for two weeks and tremors and sweats and horrible back pain, and restless leg syndrome so bad that i couldnt even lay down for two weeks for more than 30 seconds at a time. so please anyone that is on suboxone GET OFF OF IT!! i know its cheap and convienent but if you really wanna quit then get some xanex and or weed to sleep and pain killers to taper off of. anyone that wants to talk i can give you my email or phone #. id love to help

I couldn't agree more. I had NEVER had an issue with anything in my life then had a baby, got divorced before said baby was born, moved back to a small town and have a job where I travel. I stupidly, stupidly couldn't handle life and a "friend - using that word loosely" gave me a few oxys - of course I felt like superwoman. I used for four 1/2 months and was up on 16 mg of suboxone. These docs start people out WAY too high. I blame myself - I don't blame others - I should have done more research. Now I've been on suboxone for 5 YEARS and can't get off because I can't handle the withdrawals with a small child, no friends, no one to talk to. I wish I'd been upfront with someone in my life and went through a week of hell from the oxys and been done with it. I do think it can be a miracle drug if used correctly and long, long term opiate/herion users it's probably a good route to go, but for short term opiate usage with no past history of opiate abuse, I promise you just take a week off from work, if you are a parent, get some support in taking care of your children, and just go through the week or two of feeling like you have the flu. I have tried to stop several times - I look at my child's pictures and cry and cry - what kind of example am I going to be setting if I can't get off this evil drug before she's old enough to notice, but I cannot physically take care of her. I jumped off a low dose and made it 14 days and thought I was coming out on the other side, only for withdrawal from the suboxone to hit at torpedo force and I had to go back to my doctor. I'm not saying it may not be a life saver for some, but really look at what you are doing and for how long, Subuxone is more powerful than any other opiate and has such a long 1/2 life it stays in your system for a long time. Best of luck and bless all of you in your journey to get off of whatever drug you are using. I just really urge anyone considering suboxone to use it no longer than 30 days with a very fast taper - I think this is the only way that you won't find yourself even more addicted.

Been on 2 Sub Tabs for 3 years man...This was exactly what I experienced last time I ran out f my script. Although I ended up having surgery right after for something unrelated and had to take pain meds for a month. Im going to give it another try based on your instructions and willsee how it goes
-Thanks

When your getting off opiates, use a low dose of Buprenorphine for the first to 6 days using a smaller peice each day. Then after 6 days, stop taking bupe and take Kratom. If you dont know what it is do some research. Take about 3-5 grams to assess tolorance, and take a gram every 45 min until you hit your desired level. I would try and wait until the buprenorphine wears off and your in minor withdrawl before you take Kratom.
Always take Kratom on a empty stomach, you can eat a small amount of food an hour after the effects come on and sometimes it gives the effects a boost. Use Kratom for about a week or so and come off. Get some L tyrosine, Hemp seeds, cannabis and some other super foods and you will be good.
Kratom is awesome for opiate withdrawal and once you get clean you can take kratom recreationally for some good times. Kratom can be addicting and although its not as intense as being addicited to a true opiate, it does still have some negative effects if you get heavy into it.
