Just curious, how old are you?depending on your age you have been already in perimenopause or transition into menopause when you had the procedure. Also you tend to follow your mother for age in terms of menopause.

I had an endometrial ablation about 20 years ago. It got rid of my heavy painful periods. I've been taking antidepressants for the last 10 years. Here I am, 52 years of age, my doc just ran the FSH blood test. I am in post menopause! I had no idea!

i had the procedure done in Jan this year. I am 46 years old i have battled depression most of my life but I have never felt like this. I can not control my emotions and thoughts. I am on a antidepressant and its not helping, I am looking into herbal and diet to control this. I was not like this until I has this done so I do believe it has a great deal to affect menopause.

You say "Leave nature to its work..."
Having the ablation in the first place is interfering with nature! Maybe if these potential, life altering effects would have been discussed prior to this procedure alot of women could have chosen an alternative route, gosh.

The doctor didn't really give me an option. I had pelvic pain due to super thick uterine lining. Can't take hrt so hysterectomy was out of the question. I was 23 when I had the NS done. 5 years later I have a period again severe hot flashes and have gained 50 lbs. I wish I had been given an option. But just like my tubal it was life or death.

I too had the exact same symptoms approx. One year after having an uterine ablation but my periods came back also and with vengeance. My bleeding was almost as bad as before having the ablation as well. My doctor put me on the hrt, Duavee which eliminated the horrible labor cramp, crams altogether as well as eliminating all bleeding.

I had an endometrial ablasion and tubal at the same time at age 32. All of my symptoms started to occur around the 4 year mark. And has been down hill since. I feel it was the disrupt in blood flow.

I myself have the same question but in a different way. 16 months ago I had the Novasure procedure done. I went in to my Dr just yesterday and I have every sign of depression. Weight gain, mood swings, can't sleep at night I do have occasional hot sweats and where I have always been very calm I get mad very fast and react faster than usual. It was explained to me that because I no longer have menstral cycles that my body does not produce enough estrogen. So they put me on a low dose of hormones because they said I am going through menopause. After leaving I have done googling and research and I am worried I have been diagnosed wrong. I am only 35 and I have yet to see any research or studies done for anyone going into menopause this young.

I just googled this very question and I found this page and mom5 I am very similar to you except I only had my procedure in November 2016. My periods have become lighter each month since then and I haven't had one this month - but yes I also wonder how I'll know? I'm 50 next month so assume am in the peri menopause. I guess we just have to be led by other symptoms occurring. Thanks for posting x

I had an ablation 11 years ago and have been prescribed activella (hormones mildest dose) for hot flashes and night sweats, will this cause me to have vaginal bleeding?

I had an Novasure ablation done 4 years ago. At first it seemed like everything was fine as far as I can remember back then but then I think it was like around 8 months later it started back up again super bad cramps like if I was going into labor, and.the bleeding was even worse than before the ablation. I was like oh my gosh what have I done. Then my doctor tells me well there's a 25% chance it may have not worked I might need a hysterectomy I was like you're kidding me so then I schedule a hysterectomy and every time it got close to my hysterectomy it miraculously would stop everything would go away so I would cancel the hysterectomy because I didn't want to do that then next thing you know here comes the bleeding and the cramps back that happened about three times finally over the course of two years the bleeding finally stopped and I never got the hysterectomy and I don't know if it was due to stress but or coincidence my husband and I after 29 years happen to split up right around that same time the bleeding stopped but anyway, I hope that helps I stumbled across this I was going to post a different question and I'm going to do that regards to menopause and the endometrial ablation I am now 54 years old and I do not have any symptoms nor have I had any symptoms of menopause I do not have vaginal dryness or low sex drive or hot flashes and I have not had any of that so I'm wondering what could be going on did I miss it I did not start my period until I was 14 years old so I always think well maybe it's going to be a late menopause but my doctor said that has nothing to do with it and from everything I've researched always say that the tests are not always 100% the hormones kind of are inconclusive that you'll know when you're going through menopause because of all those other obvious symptoms that I stated before. blah blah I don't know everybody always tells me I look like I am in my thirties so maybe I'm just the exception to the rule I'm not trying to toot my horn but I just can't seem to figure out what is going on and that's just how it is I have lots of for somebody who is 54 years old I work out a little bit, I would say I am an average shape. Most of the stories I read are all the same I never can read a story that is similar to mine so I wonder if anybody has one it would be nice to know
