I have an appointment with Romo soon. Can anyone tell me what the price range was for their operation? I've been told by another Dr. that my insurance should pay part due to breaking my nose a couple of times and now have some serious breathing issues. But, I'm nervous about the cost overall. Any help would be appreciated.

Let's just be clear about how to detect a hired hand on the payroll of a plastic surgeon trawling the internet. What random person who is not being paid by a physician is going to take up lines and lines telling a disfigured patient that she highly doubts the "post operative infection has anything to do with Dr. Romo" and that one should not vent on this or other forums. It's sad what office workers do for money.

Or how somebody's "best friend' had her surgery with such and such a doctor and then just begins spewing out the doctor's credentials according to his website.

Romo's office workers are sad cases. But only cases in point. Plastic surgery is a business and its operators hire people to write on blogs. That's just how it's done

Hi, I'm an African-American male seeking Primary Rhinoplasty to correct the small hook at the time of my nose as well as narrowing the width some what.

Needless to say, there's soo many doctors to choose from and I'm in the process of scheduling consultations with many of the surgeons, however, the consultations cost money and I have well over 20 doctors listed. It would be greatly appreciated for those who've had rhinoplasty performed, especially those of African-American decent to give your views.

Thank you

I had my nose done by Dr. Romo last year. It's not straight. He also is supposed to be an ear specialist and did a little work on my ears, but they should look better. He's human and they cant always do great work.
I'm going to Dr. Jacono next month to discuss fixing the work Romo did. My mother had her face done by Jacono 6 months ago and it looks great.
Noses really define our face and if I was Tom Cruise; I'm sure Romo would have taken his time.
This is life.

I have been in contact with a woman who highly recommends Dr. Romo. After reading some of the negative feedback on here, I don't know what to think. I'm actually very scared to visit with him after some of what I've read. I would like to have a good experience and be happy with my results... Can someone give me some further advice on Dr. Romo? Or any other docs they might suggest... Many Thanks!

DR. THOMAS ROMO IS ONE OF THE FINEST PLASTIC SURGEONS IN THE WORLD. He is the Director of Plastic Surgery at 2 major hospitals in New York City— Lenox Hill and Ear, Nose & Throat hospital. I cannot understand why anybody would bad-mouth him. It's ridiculous.  ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed***

Just had medpor columellar strut put and cartilage grafts for revision rhinoplasty with Dr.Romo 2 weeks ago. He's been a great doctor so far and shows honest concern for having an excellent ooutcome. Can take months to year for swelling to go down completely but so far I recommend him as I've had no problems in last 2 weeks and find him to be an excellent doctor.

I'm going in for my procedure in just a few short weeks. Despite what I've read on these forums, I think Dr. Romo is a caring and great surgeon. I pray for great results!! For people who inquired about price range, Dr. Romo's fee starts at $8500--a small price for his experience and expertise! And remember, you can do three things to the nose: make it bigger, make it smaller, or leave it alone! Dr. Romo will make this clear to you! Best of luck and please wish me the best, too! I'll be sure to post back post-op!

Had my procedure done just about a week ago and I absolutely LOVE Dr. Romo. He gave me exactly what I wanted and I feel so much better about myself!! He is truly amazing--he made me feel so comfortable before and after the surgery...I'd recommend him to anyone who was considering Rhinoplasty. What an amazing, great human being with a refreshing sense of humor!!!

I'm scheduled for my Rhinoplasty in a few weeks.  Romo came recommended by a friend of mine who had a great job done.  I wanted something natural and I explained that to him.  He made sure to note that. I'm very nervous about this whole thing but at some point you just have to take a leap of faith.  Because I also need my deviated septum fixed the insurance company will pay for a portion of the anesthesia.  It use to be that insurance would pay for all of the anesthesia.  But they caught on that people were doing this so now they only pay part.  For my procedure where I am not breaking any bones it was quoted around $7,500.  He also carefully explained that Rhinoplasty has changed over the years where it use to be that many doctors would lift the tip of the nose too high and take out cartilage.  This is not the case anymore and a good doctor shouldn't be removing as much as they use to.  Anyway, he's been great at consulting and explaining the whole procedure so I'm trusting he will do a good job.

Dr. Romo was suited after a nose job gone wrong I believe in 2004. He performed a rhinoplasty for a woman which consisted of two parts, cosmetic and fucntional,The first time a tip was placed on the tip of the nose. The nose became infected and turned black . The patiet went back to Dr. Romo to have it revised. He failed to fix the problem. The woman went to another plastic surgeon who performed another surgery and found that it was an implant Dr. Romo placed and failed to find during the second surgery.. The patient's lawyer argued that Dr. Romo failed to find the implant because there was no surgery records of the first surgery neither dictated or written. However, the funny thing is that records of the functional part of the surgery were found both dictation and written. Dr. Romo argued that the hospital failed to provide him with the report, but the patient's lawyer contested that it was the doctors reponsibility to make sure to have the report before the second surgery. This case is accessible to the public at NYS Court Record. www.courts.state.ny.us/Reporter/pdfs/2011/2011_30559.pdf File Format: PDF/Adobe Acrobat - Quick View
