I know EXACTLY what you have because I had the same symptoms a few years ago: polycystic ovarian syndrome. They are a genetic condition when polyps grow on your ovaries (they also occur in overweight/obese women). They can cause your ovaries to secrete hormone, causing the levels to rise, which explain the nausea and diarrhea.

In order to be diagnosed with POS, you need to have an ultrasound screen. After diagnosis, the doctor will probably put you on some form of birth control and most likely a pain killer.

This is not something to fool around with; if it is POS and it goes untreated, you can become infertile.

I need advice.
I'm am 15 now but since i was 11 i have had stomach pains constantly when i'm on. Since the start of high school i have had more and more time off, not being able to stand let alone make it out of the house. I'm worried that all this time off will effect my grades and of course i have exams soon and need to be working hard not taking time off. Anyway i have asked around my friends to see how they cope with pain and they said Ibuprofen would work. But i have yet to meet a person like me who deals with so much pain.

I am on, Mefenamic Acid, Tranexamic Acid, Co-codamol and the Pill. Though even with all of this medication nothing works.

I suffer from, Vomiting, Fainting, Back and Neck ache, Hot flushes, Blurred Vision, Muffled Hearing and Diorrhea.

I need some help please!

hi, I am also a 6 year old that has now been lying awake for 4 hours unable to sleep, I get this every time the day before my period is due! I have 2 periods a month so as you can imagine this is very frustrating and I know exactly how you feel! My periods are unbelievably heavy, the biggest sized tampon will only last me an hour and half sometimes two! Because of my heavy constant periods I have developed anemia! I first discovered that there was a problem when I was 12, I was sat on the toilet on day and had a black out! I was then tested on many times and I was diagnosed with dub. Just like you I get very bad pains all the way through my periods that go around my back, stomach and down my legs! There is noting that the doctors can do for the pains and nausea . I have been on every pill on offer but so far I'm yet to find one that works! I am very frustrated and fed up with my periods as I normally have to take 2 days of school for each period which is usually 4 days a month and it really effects my education but there is nothing that helps me! I could suggest getting some heatpads that you can stick on to the area of pain they work well so you can still go to school but feel a if you've got a hot water bottle with you! Try taking 2 ibrofen and 2 co-codamol when you feel the pain...check with the guidence and a doctor before! :) and keep a good diet! Because of my anemia I often pass out and it's not fun! I really do feel for you! Chin up girl :D

okay, i am 14 years old and i started my period less than a year ago. today is the first day of this months period. I felt sick this morning, and at first i thought it was the dinner i ate last night, burritos. i dont like mexican food, because im sutch a nature hippie, i get mildly sick whenever i eat something greasy, spicy, salty, ect. but thats what my dad wanted for dinner. But then it got worse than a mild sickness, and i remembered i was on my period. I couldn't bear the pain so i popped in a midol. not i hate drugs. even the medical kind. so if i take something as life shortening as a pain pill, its bad. I took frequent trips to the bathroom, an like all the others say, yes, it was number 2. But then while i was on the trips to the bathroom, i got a dizzy nausious feeling, and i turned around and vomitted. yes it was a gross situation. o.o i got shaky, weak feeling. the pain was almost dizzying. so i layed on the floor with a pillow (that i for some reason brought to the bathroom with me) and stayed there for a few minutes. when whe wave of pain after vomiting got somewhat better, i got up and told my dad i was sick and he told me to rest. (i do not live with my mother which sucks when youre a girl this age.) so i went to bed but the pain was so bad i was restless, not to mention the nagging thought in my mind that this was not normal for a period, so i got on my nifty dsi and googled it. i came here and reading the other peoples frighteningly similar symtoms scared me. i hopefully will get the guts to tell my dad i have a girl problem and i need to visit the doctor, but i have had to tell my dad about a possible girl problem, just to find out the problem i had was normal. so who knows? but this coming from adults who say this dosent seem normal is scarry, better to be safe than sorry.

The vomiting can actually be linked to you having low iron levels in ur blood. Losing blood while u have an iron defishency can make u sick. I also get horrible cramps and hot flashes. It all depends on how ur body reacts to ur period. Every woman's body is different so go see ur doc if u have questions :)

So I share a lot of the symptoms you other ladies are describing.

I am 23 now and started my period when I was 12. But only after I was 16, did the painful cramps take place. I remember being in high school class when a period started. I was in discomfort, but I thought I would deal with it. The pain got worse, and I had to go to the nurse's office. There, I threw up and and had to lie down. Then I had permission to go home for the rest of the day.

So out of my 12 periods, I have every year, about 10 of them I have to endure like this:

The first hour my period starts, and I know what I'm in for...
Hours 1-2 is discomfort and cramping, but it increases intensity as time goes on. Once this starts, I try to leave school/work and get home asap.
Hour 3. My legs feel weak and my lower back aches, so I have to lay down. I cannot even stand up without getting woozy. Even when I lay down, the stomach pain is unbearable at this point. I also have to go to the bathroom (number 2).
If I am cold, I start to shiver and get feverish/cold sweats. If I am lucky enough to be in my bed at this time, I wrap myself in my blankets and get feverish/sweat, but it feels better to warm-sweat then cold-sweat.

Around hour 4 after my period started, I have to run to the toilet to vomit. Then I go back to lie in my bed and sweat it out, and rest.

By hour 5. I wake up feeling refreshed. If it's not too late in the day, I go back to work. I only have minor discomfort the rest of day 1 and day 2. I don't have cramps the rest of the week.

Basically, for hours 3-5 on the first day of my period, I am totally disabled and cannot be at work (or be in class, when I was in college). Luckily this never happened to me when I had an exam. I was lucky that my periods came at night or on weekends, so I didn't have to miss classes and then make up the coursework.

I know this may sound weird, but to those of you who have boyfriends and are old enough to have sex, I found that having sex right before my period comes actually gets rid of the extreme pain, so that I only have medium-painful cramps. ie. have sex the night before, when my period comes the next morning. (But if you don't have a serious boyfriend who you are already sexually active with, don't have sex just for this reason. You have to be physically and mentally ready to start having sex with your boyfriend.)

Also, when I eat red meat in my meals the 2 days before my period comes, I also have slightly better symptoms. I think it is because of the iron provided by red meat, and you lose a lot of iron when you loose blood.

When I ask my friends about their menstrual cramps, they usually just take ibuprofen or midol and are fine. I don't think they realize that my period pain is more severe. When i try to take painkillers, I just end up throwing it up and then I continue on my trek of pain.

I'm glad I found this forum to see that a lot of us are going through this extreme pain every month, and that i don't have some super rare disease.

I've had the same problem for 3 years now. I'ts terrible. Whenever I get my period, I get gut wrenching cramps and really bad back pain and my flow is really heavy. I throw up constantly, and even when my stomach is empty, I throw stomach acid which burns my throat and causes severe discomfort. This usually lasts for the first two days of my period. After that I'm fine and can go back to being myself. However I would like to find a solution because it really gets in my way of life. Every month I have to miss two days of school and when I start college, that's going to be unacceptable. I never really understood why this happens to me every time I get my period. Is it the food I eat or genetics? I really don't know but I would like to find answers. I went to see a doctor before and she gave me medicine for the pain and did nothing for the vomitting. Unfortunately the medicine she prescribed me did nothing for me. Someone suggested that I take a low dose of birth control but I'm scared to do that because birth control has a lot of side affects. I'm really lost, but I'm glad I found this page and that I am not alone in this.
