Jergens skin firming lotion. I use it in my neck chest and shoulders after every shower. It stops that tight feeling from my TT incision

Hi Marsha,
I have exactly what your describing. My Op was 11 months ago. A nurse told me that she thought it was scar tissue and that in time the nerves would heal. Someone said that their neck was like that for 2 years but gradually she got that way she didn't notice it so symptoms started subsiding. I didn't start out with this but as the nerves became less numb I could then feel the tight band like a scarf wrapped around my neck. I have a question?? Do you ever have reflux when your laying down at night? And in the morning it feels tighter. Or when you burp during the day there's a stinging sensation then your more conscious of feeling the tightness?

I had a partial thyroidectomy in April, so almost three months ago. Since then, I have these episodes where the front of my neck turns red and gets tight. Then I feel a heaviness in my upper chest just under my collar bones and I become dizzy for just a few seconds. The tightness in my neck remains for a couple hours and spreads into my lower jaw. I get very irritable and emotional and everything aches, almost like my bones are being crushed. It happens at least once a day. Anyone with anything similar or any suggestions?

I also had a partial thyroidectomy in April. Both my swallowing and neck movements were fine after the initial surgery. Approximately 2 weeks later, I experienced constant tightness, choking feeling, increased difficulty swallowing, inability to lean my head back properly without opening my mouth (because of the tightness) sensitivity and pain which all still continue. I was told that I am still healing and I should be much better after 6 months.

I, too, have had a total thyroidectomy on January 2,2015. After the surgery, my ENT called me on the phone to tell me that the pathology department found cancer cells. I have started going to a radiation oncologist since then. But I'd say with the last 6-8 months, I've experienced something in my neck that feels like someone is strangling me around my neck. I know it's real but everyone is speculating that I am just trying to get attention and that I am fine and that there's nothing wrong. That is not true. I am feeling pain. I don't want to be always taking Tylenol 3 with codeine all the time but if this continues I'll have to. I go to see the ENT on Aug 25,2016. Hopefully he will do something about this strangling feeling. It's awful.

It's been 4 weeks since my total thyroidectomy for a benign nodule, and Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. I know how you feel. I also have tightness around my neck more in the evening. I keep stretching it in every direction, and it doesn't seem to help. I just hope this heals soon. I can't imagine living like this forever.

I've been suffering from heartburn/reflux every night since the surgery, but they're trying to tell me that it's just a coincidence. I'm wondering since you're further along on this journey (I'm only two months post op), did you ever find an answer/cure to your problems?
