hi im on my 6th day recovery of tonsillectomy. same situation with yours. they thought nothings wrong with my tonsils until my doctor inserted a camera inside my throat and found out that the tonsils are getting bigger inside and there is a lot of hardened food particles. anyway I just pray hard that I wont have BB anymore after the antibiotics Im taking..but for now i can feel it. no more bb.. yehey
I got my tonsils removed 5 days ago im 18 years old. I have had a lifetime of problems, they were always infected and i was always in the hospital for tonsillitis.my pain from 1 to 10 since i have left the hospital has been a 3 sometimes like today a 5. I cant eat anything hard but my doctor said it was fine to have milkshakes as long as i continue to drink water and brush my teeth. Your guide is amazing and it helped me realize that I am going through hell now but I know its worth it.No more swollen tonsils and no more doctor visits that give me hell.Thank you for giving me a guide to follow when i can eat regular food(:
P.s: before I went into surgery i told them that i get nausea easily and they gave me a patch called Scopolamine. It went behind my ear and i left it there for 3 days and till this day I have not been sick.
i got the radio frequency treatment to shrink my tonsils today and i'm having a lot of pain and...strangeness. i suffered from chronic tonsil stones and my tonsil was really swollen and irritated for about a month...doc zapped em today and i'm a little concerned...

i'm in a lot of pain and it hurts a lot. i jerked when they put the needle in and i'm worried that that caused problems and i'm also concerned that existing bacteria/tonsil stones in the tonsil got agitated and released when they did the frequencies and is causing all that..stuff.
i can't tell if this is just the "healing" process though as the frequencies are suppsoed to set into motion a series of shrinking, scarring, and reshaping. i tried calling my doctor but the office was closed already.
did this happen to anyone else? now this wasn't a tonsil removal, just a shrinking using the radio frequency thing on the one tonsil...
I agree I was in the same boat as this kid. right now I'm in day 4 of recovery. I'm not in nearly the amount of pain that he was in I'm actually sleeping most of the days away.Only issue I've had is today some cauterization scabs fell off and caused bleeding but the bleeding stopped instantly on its own! I called the doctor and he said it was nothing to worry about. But I keep getting odd amounts of cauterization scabs coming up from places I'm not even sure they should be coming from?
I'm a 18 year old girl and my surgery is next week and Im terrfied and this didnt really help my nerves but It defiently gave me somethign to guide my self on rather then jumping into it blind. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I hope my outcome is as good as yours!!!
I am 43 and on day 6 post tonsillectomy. Days 5 and 6 have been the worst. I learned the hard way that pain meds cause constipation. I ended up in the ER last night due to an impacted colon. I couldn't take the tonsillectomy pain meds, so my pain was two fold and unbearable. I finally had to break down and take them risking more constipation. This guide is absolutely great and accurate. I've been eating Popsicles, lots of pudding, drinking lots of water and eating soft foods like mashed potatoes, soup and cream of wheat. My doctor also prescribed a magic mouthwash which has been awesome! I learned that the version he prescribed for me can be swallowed, which has been great because it numbs my throat and has made swallowing much easier. I know I'm not even half way through the healing process, but can better anticipate the stages with this guide. Thanks so much for posting this!
