Hello,

My nephew is 9 years old; we've noticed that one of his tonsil was bigger than the other since his birth. A few days ago, he went to see a doctor who recommended a biopsy or even a full removal of the tonsils. What's new is that it's not that tonsil that's big, but it's something else that actually cover the normal sized -if not- small tonsil. My nephew started taking some medicines since he first saw the doctor, so when he last went again, the size of the 'thing' has reduced.

What is that? Can you please enlighten us?
My nephew is healthy, and doesn't suffer from anything apart from the occasional allergy to dust. I asked about his breathing, and his mom said she hears him stop for a few minutes then breathe again. Does that tell you anything?

Thanks a lot for your help!
