I just got it also about two weeks ago first right side now two weeks later the left and happened ten min ago...I had no clue this many people have had this... really wish we could all find out what causes it... I believe it does have something to do with our nerves because it didn't start until I started being on the phone for a long time...

I have been drinking vodka for most of the night and I have this twitching in my left temple going in. I'm 40. I got worried and Googled "twitching on left temple" and this came up. I noticed someone in earlier post said they had a hangover when they experienced this twitching on left temple at age 39. I am now starting to think this is alcohol related. Has anyone who have participated in this post are over the age of 35 and been drinking alcohol when you wrote this post? If so, i think it's an early sign of stroke and all of us after age 35 we should stop drinking. My dad was a drinker and had a stroke later in his life, then he stopped drinking.

I have it too! It feels like a random contracting spasm 1" above my left ear.... it comes and goes away randomly....sometimes it feels like something is alive in there moving around (I hope not)! No pain, no stress, and otherwise very healthy, so I don't get it. My doctor friend told me to check blood pressure while it is happening, but I am on vacation now so have no access. Does anyone know anything on this yet?

[THIS MESSAGE DOESN'T STAND FOR PEOPLE WHO CLEAN THEIR EARS REGULARLY] Hey. You guys should clean your ears properly. Like, after taking a bath, with a proper ear cleaning stick or whatever appliance you find safe. Take your time and clear all the junk wax. I'm sure this wouldn't be a solution to most people, but try it. My left temple had been throbbing for some days when I realized that I had been neglecting ear hygiene!

Hey, I just found this thread and I thought I'd like to contribute. I'm a 20 year old and have had temple spasms in the right side of my head for the past year. I've also had a history with ear infection problems for about 8 years so that might have something to do with the trauma. But for the last few weeks I've had continual spasms in my right foot and my right arm. Usually the twitching comes and goes but it usually returns near the end of the day. About a month ago I had jaw problems on the right side of my face due to Temporomandibular Joint Disorders, but after a week of anti-inflams it seems to have gone for now. I was wondering if any of these things had a link to the twitching, which may have started from my ear infections.

Do you experience chronic stress, muscle tension in the neck or Trapezius muscles, or Anxiety? I was told it is caused by an overly tight trigger point as it refers to the Templar and jaw area.

I have severe neck pain. It's been a chronic thing for some time. As it relates to this thread, I have been unable to see a chiropractor for an extended time and things have tightened up considerably. I am in pain most days. Recently I have had twitching in my right temple, some in the right check/eye area, and the top of my head occasionally feels like it is pulsing. I've read that all of these are often the symptoms of neck related issues, be it trauma, inflammation, or what have you. I am taking a lot of ibuprofen and I believe it is helping. The thing about anti inflammatory meds is that you have to keep taking until inflammation is totally gone, not just when you feel some relief. You have to rid yourself of the inflammation totally, this can take several weeks. I agree it is stressful and worrisome to have this experience, my face moving twitching etc. Though I am sorry that anyone is experiencing this, I feel relief in knowing I am not alone. I sincerely hope it is my neck and that this subsides quickly. And I hope all of you find resolve as well.

Awesome advice! Thank you! Tried it and it worked. :)

Since some hangover headaches are caused by dehydration and some muscle cramps can also be caused by dehydration, maybe that could be the issue. I get these spasms and have a bad habit of not consuming enough fluids. I think it might be have something to do with it.
