When i was in my twenties i had t stomach problems after night's of drinking. When i turn 50 my stomach problems on my left side started to swell when i would drink or eat certain foods. One night i ate around 11:00 pm i went to bed. I woke up with so much pain until i was scared and i knew this was not the norm for me to experiance. This started to happen alot when i would eat chocolate, nutts, spicy foods, citruis, and to much meat.
So i went on line to find out what was wrong with me. This help me to beware of foods that made me experiance pain and swelling. So i completely changed my eatting habits, and quanities. My stomach did not like alot of food in it. So i cut my portions and eliminated all the foods that caused me pain. Alcohol was out of the question for me now i do not drink and i feel so much better because it caused me so much pain.
My stomach is not completely at 100% i believe it is totaly up to me if i want to have stomach pain. I want to feel free of pain so i choose to stop eatting foods that my stomach do not like anymore.

check symptoms for hiatal hernia....it sounds like what you are describing.
All of you folks suffering from stomach irritation must know from the symptoms it's something you eat , drink, or take as pain meds. NEVER, take Ibruprophen with this condition, and STOP drinking alcohol and coffee. The very best remedy I have found is watermelon. Eat it everyday. Lots of it and in time the irritation will heal. Been there, done that, had that for several years, but no more. God Bless, hope it works for you.
i had this pain in my upper left part of my stomach just under my ribs. i went to a stomach doctor and he did a scope and found i had a bad gall bladder and a hiatal hernia. this is where the flap in your esophagus that keeps food down gets weak and part of your stomach starts coming up into your esophagus causing sever pain that feels kinda like your insides are being pinched. my options were either to lose weight to bring my stomach down or have surgery to move it down and repair the flap. i chose the surgery since i had to already have it to remove my gall bladder anyways. i have been pain free for 7 years. the only side effect i had was they shrunk my esophagus too much and couldnt swallow food so had to go in and have them stretch it. one huge plus side was i have never had heart burn even once since then and i used to have it before surgery really bad on a daily basis. i would suggest you ask your doctor to do a stomach scope to check the gall bladder and posibility of a hiatal hernia
I just came back from hospital and they could not find anything wrong,& sez get apt at gastroinaligst asap K?
This sounds like Angioadema, if you notice a slight itching, swelling or burning on your skin anywhere that would also fall in line with this condition. i have it too, the heat after eating and light sweating, my stomach gets a small pinch and then nothing more other than fatique when its all through. Angioadema is the blood vessels in the stomach having a response to something eaten or something hitting the small intestines when digestion continues after it leaves the stomach. I take a zantac and or drink bubbly water like gyser , perrier , also a alka zeltzer gold ( only available online & has no asprin in it) . So the thing about Zantac is has a second kind of anti histimine in it that works on the allergy response in the stomach ( Zantac is called H2 blocker)
Hope this helps.
I too had terrible symtoms similar to your sweats. I had cramping pangs and eventually it was so bad I ended up in the ER. I had bleeding and a distinct change in bowel movements. They wanted to give me an antibiotic and send me home. I refused and they kept me for 24hrs observation. They did a CT scan to discover my whole colon was swollen. I ended up being in the hospital for 4 days to clear up what they thought was a fluke infection. A colonoscopy was done to rule our chrones, diverticulitus and other physically noticeable colon issues. A month after release from the hospital I still had some symptoms. It was like a flare up in my lower colon and burning would occur. Then it hit me....the only thing I changed was switching from Prilosec to Nexium. So I stopped taking the Nexium to see if my theory was right. I had many of the "rare" side effects of Nexium. Now the only symptom I have is this pinch and burn at the bottom of my left rib cage. It doesn't hurt... its just annoying and concerning. So here I am.... I also had my throat and stomach scoped and other than a narrow esophagus that they stretched, my stomach was supposedly fine. I would love to figure this one out. But for you, switching from Nexium may help.
