I would have to agree. I am 24 years old and I have two kids. For the past three years I have had irregular bleeding issues. Then last fall I began having periods that were two weeks long and then three weeks long. Now I am on one that has lasted for two months. Unfortunately, I was hemorrhaging over the past weekend and had to go to the hospital. My doctor had already diagnosed me with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and put me on birth control and metaphormin. Now, with how bad I am bleeding I am looking to have more tests done this week and look to see if I have fibroids or not. Definitely don't want to prolong seeking a physician, because if there is a serious problem it is far better to catch it in the beginning than when it is at or past the serious point in its cycle.

i had spotted for about two or three months once at a tablespoon to two tablespoons a day. i went to see a doctor and she put me on a low dossage hormone birth control. after a week it stopped. i was so happy. you should really go and see a doctor to find out what can be done to stop the bleeding.

Hi,

I'm hoping for some help. I am also suffering from vaginal bleeding. i've been bleeding for about a year now. I had a tests and ultra sounds and all came back fine. I now have bleeding while stimulating my clitoris, sorry to sound vulgar. i have blood clots form, and, have to wear a pad everyday.
I've made a appointment, to see the doctor. Have investigated via the web of my symptoms. the only one that is remotely like mine is cervical cancer. I'm extremely worried. I'm quite uneasy of having someone doing a smear test on me as I'm still a virgin and, 22.
Help any suggestions?
Alex.

I know this sounds bad but I'm glad others have the same problem. I have the same thing going on right now and I'm 20 as well. I don't know my biological family to know if there is a condition like this, and I don't have money so I wont go to the doctor so if someone has information that would be great.

hi, ive been bleeding for 8 months so far and its heavey most of the time and the rest of the time it is light. there seems to be no caurse of this what so ever it can be down to hormones. have you got any children? doctors do say that haveing more children can caurse you linninhg of the womb to thicken whitch causes heavey bleeding. try having the contraceptive pill 'citrizette' and take 2 pills a day and see if that helps,,i did and it stopped for 2 days then i started again. i have had the implant whitch did not help,,so i had to have that out, now ive been sterilized and i also have the marineo coil fitted whitch should help the bleeding but i wont know if that works till a few weeks times. i also had a smear as soon as i had stopped for a day cuz they needed to know as i never had a smear that i never had any cancer,, but my results came back clear normal,,so i dont think no one ever knows the answer, but please go to docs and they will put you on antibiotics incase you have a womb infection.

Hi there. Im sorry to hear this is happening to so many people, but it is also happening to me. I have been bleeding for 3 weeks now. The first 2 weeks were dark blood and a regular flow. There was a lot of clotting though. The last week I have been bleeding with a heavy flow and it has become a lot more red. I have experienced cramping in the last few days. I should mention for years now I have been getting severe stomach pains that I have had ultra sounds, blood work, and a laporoscopy for to see if they could find the cause. I have been cleared, as of 2 years ago, of having ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and cervical cancer. I am getting worried about the bleeding as this is a new symptom that may not even be related to the pains. I will be heading to a clinic first thing tomorrow morning to see what they have to say but I would really appreciate it if anyone could reply and let me know what you have heard from doctors or if you suggest anything for me. Thanks.

I had my regular periods 3 weeks ago and that was heavy, as it normally is for me. Ever since i've been spotting. I stopped for about two days last week and it started up again. Everytime I wipe theirs blood. I'm getting light to severe cramps at time. Normally I have very severe cramps with my menstrual cycle. I'm only 21. I take orthotrycyclin birth control on time everyday. I have a few medical issues. I have a bicornuate uterus, which is also tilted. I have a tumor in my left uterus. Also, I have ovarian cysts. In 2007 I had a cocoscopy and they told me I had pre-cervical cancer cells and to come back in a year. They also told me about the tumor at that time and that was it. They weren't going to do anything for it. Then I lost insurance and haven't been able to go back to a doctor. I'm researching on here and it seems like it will be impossible to pin point whats going on because of all the different things I have and my unique uterus. I'm also pretty sure I'm not pregnant, or if I can even have kids at this point. I've been very tired and dizzy lately (which could have to do with my heart problems and medication), yet not able to sleep until like 5 in the morning most times. If anyone has any idea's about this, or a good specialist that could just talk to me at least please let me know. This is getting scary. Thankyou =)

I have been bleeding for over a year now, I had two long periods every month with cramping and big blood clots the size of silver dollars sometimes bigger. I seem to never get a break from everyday bleeding weather it be just light spotting or bright red heavy slim and clots when I wipe after I pee and poop.  It's been every single day now sense Sept of this year that I have been bleeding heavy with cramping, I went to the hospital and the Dr. took a urine test I had sugar in my urine no std's and a referral to a ob gyn . I keep telling my primary Internal med doctor and Gasternologist about this issue they both order a full blood panel.  My Doctor called me with results, she said my white blood count is low and want's me to have more blood taken, so I will have it done this week.... to be cont.

Menstruation Answer A12114,
Hi, welcome to the ehealth forum and I am glad to help you.
You seem concerned with abnormal vaginal bleeding for the last 3 weeks which is not bleeding like a period but comes out when you go to the urinal.
First thing is to make sure that the bleeding is coming from the vagina and is not from the rectum or in the urine. You can insert a tampon into your vagina to confirm that the source of your bleeding is coming from the area of your vagina, cervix, and uterus. The usual causes of abnormal vaginal bleeding at your age include menstrual irregularities due to hormonal imbalance which can cause excessive vaginal bleeding.
When bleeding is not caused by your menstrual cycle, it is called abnormal or dysfunctional uterine bleeding. This is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal bleeding during a woman's childbearing years. Up to 10% of women may experience excessive bleeding but this is a diagnosis of exclusion when all other causes like trauma, infection and tumors have been ruled out.
In women of childbearing age (around18-40 years), the most common cause of abnormal uterine bleeding is pregnancy and its complications such as ectopic pregnancies or miscarriages. Pregnancy test is therefore a must in your case to rule out the same. Anovulation can be a cause of bleeding in women of childbearing age. However, anovulation occurs in fewer than 20% of women in this category, so all other causes, including pelvic inflammatory disease and uterine fibroids, must be ruled out.
Diseases of the female reproductive organs may cause bleeding.
You may have a harmless (not cancerous) sore (polyp or lesion) on your genitals that can cause bleeding.
Cancer of the vagina, cervix, uterus, and ovaries can cause bleeding. Ovarian cysts, cervicitis, endometritis, fibroids, vaginal infections, and other conditions can also cause excessive bleeding.
Certain drugs may cause bleeding, especially if you are taking anticoagulant drugs (drugs that prevent the blood from clotting).
You must visit your gynecologist who will conduct thorough examination and may run some tests to ascertain the final diagnosis as the same cannot be done online.
Hope this helps. Take care
