Ok I'm the 24 year old responding to my post. I inserted a baking soda tablet overnight and it caused I huge liquid mess. Which is fine because I must have thinned it out. But then I started to get a distinct smell and as I've never had BV before I stopped immediately and gave myself a break in case things were getting too basic. I've been taking calcium and vitamin d pills for a couple weeks as well. I can say that I've finally been able to get physically excited with my partner and it made things much more enjoyable. I also want to add I didn't use a tampon for this period and I think that also helped. I won't try the baking soda for a while as I'm scared I might give myself BV. But please try the calcium and vitamin d! It takes time to recover from a deficiency. I eat super healthy so I stopped taking vitamins over a year ago and this seems to correlate with my problems. We can't always get the nutrients we need.
Working in the medical field and being a female. This is the most accurate answer or helpful suggestion on here. Apparently majority of you all don't see a doctor as you should or don't ask your doctor the correct questions. It's also important that you don't leave out if you have more than one partner or
If your partner has more than one partner. Because in fact you are sharing more than what you think. Before you say something isn't helpful. Make sure you're helping yourself to a REAL medical doctor
To get the real answers for your own self for your healths sake

This response is sooooo irrelevant. We have been to doctors, been tested several times only to be told we're "Normal". So thanks but no thanks. We actually need real answers here. Figure that out and then come back here with a resolution.
I'm 32 my fiancé and I have been together for 3 years. I still have this issue. I have been to the doctor and they said "you are just a person that has a lot of vaginal discharge." I agree people do need to go the doctor but in my case I did. And my fiancé and I are not sleeping around. Still there are so many women with this "problem" maybe it isn't a problem at all!
Did it come out as u were douching??
We have been to doctors!! I have been to my family doctor every month for the first year it was happening. No results. Every test came back negative. Sent me to a gynecologist who treated me for yeast (it wasn't yeast) and now I'm with a new gyno who is switching me to an IUD because my problems have not improved. A copper one because I think the hormones are messing with my body. I think i might get tested for vitamin deficiency but I eat a very healthy and balanced diet and have never had any problems before birth control. Thanks for the suggestions ladies!! I'm so glad people posted - thought this was a long shot.
What I think that you have is a inbalance in the vagina. Its called cytilytic vaginosis. Its a over growth of Lactobacilli, it is cured with sitting in a bath with baking soda, or douching. But the problem is my hormones tend to throw me off monthly,. So every month I have to douche. Look it up...Ive had yeast infections test and all others. Everything comes up negative. I hope this helps
How much baking soda do you use?
Hi, this problem recently started for me like 5 months ago. I just turned 40 & had a hysterectomy just over 10 years ago, no birth control here!! Same partner, im also at a loss!!!
I had this happen to me a few years ago, it lasted for months - thick clumpy "discharge" that I basically had to scoop out of myself. Sex was painful. I eventually got so desperate that I grabbed some peroxide, and soaked a tampon with it. Then I shoved it up in there and laid down for an hour. Did this one hour a night, for three nights, and I was fine within a week. I don't know how safe it is, but I was so desperate I didn't care. Sure felt weird, but I was overjoyed when it actually worked.
Hey I have had same issues it has started only about a month ago. I also have had the implosion in since March-April 2014 threw out the first two years I was celebrate! Until end of last year anyways I had not gotten a period since having it put in my arm, so when I first had sex again I ended up with a tare around my cervix the hump that had to repair in an emergency surgery cause I lost over 3 Ltrs of blood had said it was the worst tare he has ever witnessed from sex n sex was not rough at all dude was huge either just scare average. So I haven't had much sex since then but since I had the bleeding after sex Drs straight away thought it was Sti std! Which they still continue testing me for n I still continue to be clear of any. It's not thrush I have the dryness n itching symptoms aswell n the discharge only comes out when I put finger inside and clean it out that way I've had blood in the discharge as well not new blood old blood The worste bit is I have constant lower abdominal pain and the bleeding still is not stopping it slows to a pinkish spotting n isn't very heavy but blood is allways bright!!! I have had ultra sounds n swabs done again recently, booked into dr tomorrow to get results back so will post again tomorrow bout the results if I get any answer will let u know!!!
I don't think so I haven't had sex since since a week befor it started n it's been going on for me for over a month and a bit maybe half or two :/ I have it everyday n even have bleeding with it itching and dryness nausea and abdominal pain. I understand what ur dr said it sounds quite logic but if it's meant to get better after sex I must be having sex in my sleep then hahaha!! But on another serious note I've been prescribed antibiotics eat lots of yogurt take pro biotics ect nothing has seemed to help or lesson any of my symptoms.
Hi ladies, so I tried the calcium. It did thin out the discharge. Thing is, it made my vagina taste even more bitter (it tasted just like the calcium). Also, it made me really gassy (and that was some funky gas!). I stopped using it because I was having some vaginal bleeding. I don't know if the calcium caused it or if it was something else. Has anyone else had the bleeding while using the calcium?
Yes, I just started the cal/mag and noticed some bleeding the next day. I'm going to cut down on the dose because it also gave me an awful headache. However, it DID help with the discharge, amazingly.
An overgrowth of lactobacilli makes sense. From my understanding balanced vaginal flora mimics good gut flora. My issues started after a course of antibiotics, which ruined my gut. Have been taking probiotics off an on over the years with no success. Probably didn't need any extra lactobacilli. Wondering if a bifido only probiotic would be better. Would be great to finally resolve this once and for all.
But, I'm definitely sticking with the cal/mag. Thank you to who discovered this!!
