I have been having this issue ever since I got my tubes tied 2.5 years ago, but it doesn't happen every period. My itching and irritation only come after the period, only when I have the extra few days of brownish discharge, and now that I think about it, only when I use other brands of tampons than my normal. I use Vagisil wipes to help with the irritation and it will eventually go away. Next period, I'm back to my regular tampons and I'm going to hope for the best.
You might ask your doctor if you have lichen sclerosis or lichen simplex. I had the same problem for over a year and I saw numerous gynecologists. Finally one of them did a biopsy and found that I had lichen simplex. You can Google these and get a lot of information. In the end it was clobetasol that did the trick. Unfortunately mine recurs so I have to keep a bottle around for when it comes back. I don't love the idea of having to use a steroid every time I itch, but it is certainly better than the alternative. Hopefully mine will go away as I age and hormones change.
Tea tree oil and sometime plain yogurt and also vinegar but not just regular vinegar it has to be vinegar"with the mother" do a quick Google search on the vinegar thing If you don't know what I mean. But the TEA TREE OIL works to almost immediately stop itch. Get a small square pad of cotton and put about 5 to 7 good drops on it. Tuck that inside loose fitting cotton panties. If you are very sensitive maybe dilute the oil with a few drops of water because it could sting a little. You will experience a cool tingling feeling and the itch will be replaced by the tingle. You can get a small bottle of the oil at sallys beauty supply I know but probably walmart too.
This is what i was thinking. The itching and irritation start before my period so I'm not using tampons or pads at that time. I've been using Angel Soft tissue (because it's cheap) but I'm going to try Charmin for a while and see if that helps.
i have this problem too cant describe it full I was thinnking OK...... i have had 7 days break from sex so my vagina should be nice and ready to please my husband but........ it was so painful, HE HAD TO STOP. The entire area was so tender almost like a little cut was some where there. It even extented to the area near to my anus. WHAT CAN I DO?
it is hormonal changes related to the menstrual cycle. nothing is wrong with you.
Tell you're hubby he's not the only one. My other half is in the same boat. If I figure out the cause I'll let you know. I'm turning to holistic medicine. I'm sick of the doctors being such jerks about it.
I have the same problem. The only solution that I have found is to dilute apple cider vinegar 1:3 with cool water, and wash my entire labial area. If the soreness is extreme, there will be a slight burn but it only last a few seconds. Within 10-15 minutes there is almost complete relief, and it will last for approximately 24 hours. I try not to get to the point of extreme soreness but to cleans myself with the cider vinegar solution once every 12 hours or so.
Apple Cider vinegar is the same pH as our skin and hair; I believe it helps to pH balance the area and that is what causes the relief.
Are there any psychological factors that could be causing the pain and vaginal pain is also caused by emotional factors in our life?
