Hello, I am 20 y/o and have had this issue since December.Every morning I wake up around 7:30-8:30 with no alarm. I go to bed around 11-midnight. When I lay in bed for 20 minutes or so, I can hear my stomach gurgling at times. I don't feel much, then fall asleep.
When I wake up, I instantly feel sour. I have 0 appetite, little ambition, etc. I always walk straight to the toilet, and have a BM. It ranges, but typically soft, not runny, nor solid. Immediately after that, I feel "Okay" for anywhere from 2 minutes to 20 minutes.
After this, I have the urge to have another BM. I have found I normally don't submit to it, and continue to do my own thing. On days I decide to have another BM after that duration of 30 minutes or so after waking up, it is typically diarrhea.
My stomach feels what I would describe as sour, queasy, or maybe even bloated. Thinking of food makes me feel sick, and I can never fall back asleep if I decide to lay down.
I struggle from the point of waking up, throughout the morning to 'feel better'. Typically I am okay by 10:30 or 11. I normally eat a light breakfast around that time, as I have found eating before that normally makes things worse or just takes my body longer to get comfortable.
I have no issues after eating lunch, and supper. I feel completely fine 90% of the time. I am extremely fearful of any scope work. I also believe that most problems can be solved by healthy diets. I would like to avoid an expensive doctor visit.
I find relief by passing gas, forcing myself to burp, and of course having a BM. This makes me think maybe it is related to gas. I tried taking gas-x a few days and that did not help any. I have been irregularly taking Probiotic Acidophilus. Just yesterday I got a "Probiotic Multi-Enzyme Digestive Formula" and took 3 tablets after supper time. The tablets taste absolutely disgusting. I noticed no improvement this morning.
I will note I have had two mornings in the past 3 months that I have felt 100% fine. It felt fantastic. The second time I woke up feeling fine, I noted I had a chocolate shake roughly 90 minutes before bedtime. It makes no sense to me. This has luckily happened during my off season from landscaping in the morning. I have read so many websites and found similar issues. I am considering buying a $120 kit of Ageless Nutrition to try restoring bacteria in my stomach. My Uncle is a firm believer in probiotics and takes his daily. However, I am just a young buck and have not taken any antibiotics lately, nor do I have much ibuprofen.
My diet consists of a light breakfast, cereal, a yogurt, or graham crackers. Lunch ranges from frozen pizzas, lean pockets, salads, chicken, and a typical sandwich. Supper is normally a home cooked meal, nothing spicy or too greasy. I am considering cutting all soda, dairy, and most gluten.
Any success stories? Similar problems? I'd like to know I am not the only one with this issue, and that it is not written off as IBS.
