Common Causes for Tonsil Stones

Summary of the possible conditions that can cause tonsil stones..

The underlying cause for these white bumps in your throat is that the tonsils have too much lymph fluid to filter. The byproduct of that filtering is what we refer to as tonsil stones. Now, there are a number of conditions that increase the junk in the lymph fluid and you will find these down below. But I do recommend you to read the entire article so that you learn the function of your lymphatic system and how tonsil stones are formed, plus what you can do to prevent them from forming.

Known Causes for Tonsil Stones

Post Nasal Drip

Sinus Infections

Allergy

Autoimmune Disorders

Stress

Refined Foods

Alcohol

Virus & Bacterial Infections

Toxins From Environment

Other Conditions Which Dilutes the Lymph Fluid

Hey, I know exactly what you people are on about. But i think I know why!

I sometimes get them, occasionally, and yes they are tonsil rocks.

but I reckon they're more from not eating your food properly, that the unchewed food gets caught behind tonsils.

Sometimes when i swallow food, that i haven't completely chewed enough, the next day, my throat gets sore, and i have to dislodge this hard rock-like thing that smells so bad. I often don't get it, because i make sure i completely chew my food well enough.

I really do think that is the problem, because my sister gets them too, and she reckons it's from not chewing food properly.

just my suggestion...

@123cupcake , its okay to tell your mom, do not be afraid to ever tell your mom if you have ANY concerns about your body !! tonsil stones are not harmful, they might cause bad breath but nothing that would actually hurt you. Tonsil stones are little smelly stones that come out of these pockets from the back of your mouth or "tonsils from experience", and is cause for these many different reasons

*While sick

*Post Nasal Drip

*Sinus Infections

*Allergy

*Autoimmune Disorders

*Stress *Refined Foods

*Alcohol

*Virus & Bacterial Infections

*Toxins From Environment

*Other Conditions Which Dilutes the Lymph Fluid

You could have any one of these causes and may not even know it, what i also do know is that tonsil stones also appear when your body is flushing out bacteria, so even though they smell and make your breath smell, they are actually helpful !!!!!!

(Now !! On how to get rid of them !!)

*WASH HANDS FIRST !!!! ANYTIME YOU DO THIS*

You Can use a warm wet Q-Tip and GENTLY press the Q-TIP against your tonsil where you can see the white tonsil stone until it comes right out.

If your comfortable, you can also use your finger and apply the same method until you feel you have removed all the tonsil stones

*You need alot of light and a mirror so you can see what your doing!!! or have your mother help you out !!!

You can also check to see if you have anymore even when not visible. brush your teeth every morning and before bed and if you have mouth wash, RINSE DAILY!!

hope i help :)

This was the first thing I read when trying to figure out the problem.  My little girl is 8 she was diagnosed with cancer at 17 months a brain tumour so we are always on the look out for any problems, she has been comming to me for about a year with theese white things that she said were comming up her throat, I presumed they were small clumps of bread, she was complaining of a sore throat and when I looked in there I noticed one of theesee clumps I thought that it was from her tummy like the others and it got stuck there.  I had her rinse several times. but it stayed, today it was much bigger, her breath is  knocking us over. but now I know. thanks so much

I have them too. they always seem to be in a round small cylinder shape. I have had them since I have what is called web disease, and they have to dialate my esphogus I think you are right they come from food build up in the back of your throat. I heard some one say they are tonsil stones. but I don't have my tonsils , but because they do that procedure it has reformed my throat for them to now form. I am going to look uup a photo of tonsil stones, suggest you try that too.

Probably coming from your adenoids, which are a porton of your tonsils that don't always get removed.
