I am 30 and had my ablation in July 2011, tubal ligation March 2011- period free since the day I had the ablation and I love that. BUT I have gained 45 pounds since and I can’t seem to lose this weight. I wish I would have read all the reviews before going through with the procedure ! I would rather have a painful period than all this damn weight!!
Hello!
Weight gain is a potential side effect of endometrial ablation, although it's not a common one. However, it's also possible that the weight gain is unrelated to the procedure and may be due to other factors such as changes in diet, lifestyle, or hormone levels.
It's also worth noting that weight loss can be challenging, and it may take time and effort to see significant changes. Try to focus on making sustainable lifestyle changes rather than quick fixes, and be patient with yourself throughout the process.
Here are some strategies that may be helpful:
-
Eat a balanced diet: Focus on eating a healthy, balanced diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein. Avoid processed and high-calorie foods, and try to limit your intake of sugary drinks and snacks.
-
Exercise regularly: Exercise is an important part of any weight loss plan. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week, such as brisk walking, jogging, or cycling. You can also try strength training exercises to build muscle mass, which can help boost your metabolism.
-
Manage stress: Stress can lead to overeating and make it harder to lose weight. Try to manage stress through activities like meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises.
-
Get enough sleep: Lack of sleep can also make it harder to lose weight. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night to help regulate your appetite and metabolism.
Remember that losing weight takes time and effort, and it's important to make sustainable lifestyle changes that you can maintain over the long term.
